I really like the app before the update, but the design update was a great improvement! It's really annoying to have ads in your news feed. Please just remove it or create a paid tier for 1 or 2 bucks. But you always say that the app are going to be free and ads-free forever (on the play store and on your website).

Used to be the best free rss reader. Used to be. However these last weeks à little banner at the bottom of the list of articles has appeared, displaying adds even if the author on his website continues to state his app is add free. With the latest release the UI is refreshed... And it contains also far more adds. They are now displayed in the middle of the articles. And when there are a lot of articles, well, you simply get more adds. It is a pure and simple betrayal.

It was a great app that did exactly what I needed it to do, and without any ads! Now though, the interface got updated so I now have an extra click each time I want to see something, and there are fullscreen ads. I would totally pay for a premium version, but a premium version does not exist, and there are better apps that are truly ad free. If you want me to use this app, don't lie about the app not having ads.

Simple, fast, no nonsense news reader with easy configuration. It's not trying to be everything to everyone, it's just trying to bring you a list of chosen headlines and succeeds very well at that! Refreshing to see an app just work as intended without extra noise. If I could offer a single gripe, it would be that I'd love more sorting options - maybe a "source" icon on each story so I know where it's coming from. Do that and I'll come back and give it six stars!

Once this was the best RSS reader app, with no ads - like the app description says. Then ads started to appear at the bottom of the screen. They were small and pretty harmless, and the app was simply too good to ditch only because of that. But the new all-screen ads are too much for me - switching to other reader. Please update the app description - it DOES contain ads, and nasty ones.

When it was still ad-free, it was a great app. I was one tap away from my feed, and got my notifications as soon as new items arrived. Now there are intrusive ads, opening my feed requires multiple taps, and notifications don't work at all. I have no use for it anymore in this state, looking for an alternative.

This used to be a wonderful 5-star app until the full-page ads started showing up (with loud audio to boot). More recently, some of the ads have forced timers with very loud, unmutable audio, making the app far less usable (and impossible to use quietly). The description of the app very clearly states that the app is supposed to be ad-free, which is clearly untrue. I understand that ads are important for monetization, but please reconsider going back to the quiet banner ads that were at the bottom of the page. Regarding the new UI: Would it be possible to reintroduce options for smaller font sizes and the ability to "mark read until a given message"?

I don't have an issue being able to close the ads, but goodness do I want to be able to just buy the app and not have them. Otherwise, it's a great app, with straightforward, clear functionality. I expect to keep using it until someone produces a knock-off of this (I love the simplicity!) that I can buy outright, and I'd rather not change, but I'm using this app in part to avoid ads, so let me pay to complete that process and actually have the best experience.

Easy to use, but the sync and notification functions don't seem to be at all working properly. I manually checked the source of the only feed I had registered this morning to find that there had been an update. I'd received no notification from the app, and it didn't even sync until I opened it, despite my settings. Very unreliable for individuals wanting prompt updates and notifications on their registered feeds, but good for those who are fine with checking manually occasionally.

The app started simple but effective. Also it was ad-free. After a while they implemented decent ads ad the bottom of the display. Now they updated the app and now it's neither simple nor ad-free. The ad is now in the middle of all the other posts. I hope the developer goes back to the roots and updates it back to the great app it was.

I respect the publisher's need to get more revenue, but if you're introducing ads it would be better to let us know about it, and offer a pay option to remove them. Edit: Version 3 0 has a horrible UI, regardless of the new ads. I thank Matan for the 2.X era, as I enjoyed using the app, and would gladly support it were there an option to do so, but it's time to say goodbye.

This app was 4/5 stars until a little while ago when it was infused with screen swallowing ads that pop up every few taps that are paired with a constant stream of large in stream ads. Before, the app was pretty ok. It had a few weird design decisions, but overall, it worked well. Now, they improved the layout a bit, then nuked it with ads. I will now go and find a new rss reader.

"Completely free and without ads" seems to not be true anymore. I would LOVE to have an option to buy the app or an in-app option to remove the ads buy paying a small amount of money. Especially the big apps popping up are getting on my nerves... Would rate 5 stars if I could get rid of the ads and the new design had a list option instead of tiles only.

I have been searching for an android replacement for the great windows mobile app "Nextgen reader" app. This seems to be the one that comes closest. I need to be able to choose the rss news site myself. I want a quick newsoverview with a short text and a little picture for each article and the possibility to view the entire article with one click. Last but not least I wanted a dark mode. This app cheques all these boxes.

Edit: now the ads have a forced view duration. It was pretty decent, but then it got ads. They're quite obtrusive, popping up before you can read any articles and shifting the article list so you may tap the wrong entry. Aside from that, the redesign is nice. I'd like if progress could cloud sync so I could use the app on multiple devices. Also, fix the ads and update the app description.

I've been using the app for a few years now and it was great. The developers have now decided to include ads, which I can understand. However, users were given no warning about the update, nor was it in Google Play Store or own website changelogs, nor was the app listing changed to show ads included. Further, there is no way to pay to remove ads. To top it off, some of these ads are now full screen for 5 seconds. I have uninstalled and will be looking for alternatives.

Pretty good aside from a few minor issues that I found. Some sources simple fail to load lots of the content, and you have to go to the original webpage to read it, like with Android Police. Another small issue is that the widget simple doesn't work for me. You can choose a source, but nothing loads. Besides that, this is easily the best news app for Android. It looks nice, it's very customizable, and it's pretty simple. I'd say it's around on-par to slightly better than Google News, this app is seriously underrated.

I love having this aggregate my news from many different sources, especially since it's so important to see a variety of news. The app shows headlines- you can click in and read part of the article in the app. you have to click to the actual source to read the full article most of the time, which is slightly annoying, but it makes sense and gives the news sites hits which is surely important to them.

Paw. P. Apr 16, 2020

Though not exactly spectacular, the app itself is quite decent but the April 13 2020 update broke the dev's promise to keep the app ad-free forever. Time has come for me to migrate to another reader since there is currently no way to disable the ads (neither is there a paid version), and I find pop-ups automatically playing audio/video content unacceptable. Edit: got the date of last update wrong; fixed.

Jas. H. Apr 18, 2020

Been using this for a long and very happy with it but then out of nowhere it puts an ad bar at the bottom with no way to remove it? Sorry but no thanks, not when it is described as ad free. Edit: App now has a new interface that is worse in every way and pushes even more ads at you. Dropping this completely it's just horrible now.

I had to try 4 different podcast apps until I found one that worked. It's simple and effective. Just enter the names or URLs of the podcasts you want and add them. Bonus points for being able to go to the website. I was just about to give up and settle for one of the other ones, but then I found this one. I would like to suggest the option to make folders to categorize podcasts. Thank you ☺
