I think this App is a Godsend for those of us with developing eye problems. We need lighted magnification for reading & detailed writing & crafts. That same assistance for reading words on a TV screen. I tried a few Zoom lenses but nothing has helped me read as well as this App. It takes a few tries to make it steady but it's so much better than others.
They ability to turn text to white on black is almost as useful as the magnification. One other review jokingly recommend image stabilization and I agree with that idea. It would greatly help the reading process. Maybe the app should photograph the whole page and then magnify it for reading...allowing movement of the phone to access different parts of the image rather than requiring tapping on a screen comtrol.
I love how well I can see with it. I use it to read menus in restaurants and also for viewing maker stamps and marks on the vintage items I collect. It's a bit confusing though, at least for me because I have no idea where the snapshots I took with it are stored? I haven't found any instructions/info regarding this either... Just that the storage had been changed in the latest update. I wanted to enlarge them so I can research and identify them. Maybe make that more clear and then you'll be 5 stars for me.
I've tried this app on two different smart phones. My newer LG Stylo-3 and my older ZTE ZMAX (Z970). The ZMAX runs on Android 4.4.4 and still works well after several years of use. It has a excellent 8mp camera with a true focus camera that can do macro photos. This app works very good on this phone. On my LG Stylo-3 phone I have a 13mp camera that does a pretty fair job of taking pictures, but is has very limited controls and ability compared to my ZMAX phone. I found 2 problems with the app on this LG Stylo-3 phone. Because of the limited focus and inability to do macros, you have to hold your cellphone at least 5 inches from what you are reading. At the zoom level required to read small print, you need a really steady hand. I couldn't get my volume control to work the zoom level on this phone either. On both phones there is no exit tap or control to get back to normal phone operation. This makes the app totally dependant on being able to bring up Return (triangle), Stop (circle), and Menu (square) taps on the bottom of the screen of most phones. It's not a problem on my ZTE ZMAX phone because those three taps are permanently fixed at the bottom of my screen and totally separate from anything that is displayed on my phone screen. So I always have access to them no matter what I'm doing or what's on my screen. They are available even when then screen lock is engaged. So this app works just fine as it is on the ZTE ZMAX phone.
Too easy. Used it for a an hour and theres nothing wrong with a single aspect of it. I say too easy because I expect some grief anytime I use things like this, especially when I dont get premium which envokes the ads. The ads are hardly noticed shown at the edge and not intrusive at all, maybe Ill read them now. Good example for all apps, i dont do reviews often, this deserves mine.
I thought it would simply magnify whatever I pointed my cellphone at, however, it did more than that -- it magnified AND made the image so blurry that it was completely illegible. My photos are clear and distinct, so I can't blame the cellphone's lense. I deleted the blur-making app, and have gone back to using my tried and true 10x magnifying glass. The old addage that impler is better is certainly true here.
Splendid app that works well. I can now read tiny print in instruction manuals. It will take a photo and load to Photos and Google Drive. I just wish I could lose the ads! It's good with paper maps, too.
Easy to zoom in and out. Has a feature that allows you to change from color to blacked & white. This app allows you to, change the colors (not just the back ground color) of your viewable content, which is a real plus.
For those who have a hard time seeing small print, this little App is fantastic. Pros: it really magnifes with a flashlight 🔦 option as well. Cons: it won't let you see the craters on the moon 🎑. But it's not designed for that anyway.
When you forget your reading glasses this app always helps me. I also can take macro pictures of little things on the ground like insects. To use the app you just have to experiment with the buttons to learn what each does. no big deal.
Really, if you need to magnify something open your camera app, it works better then this app because with my camera app I can zoom in on the object. Also those who are saying the image is blurry, well the problem isn't the app, it's your cheap phone camera. If you have a quality phone, Samsung S6, S7, S8 then you'd see the difference. Don't need spam on my phone with an app that my phone can camera can do the same thing, no actually better.
This app is great! It zooms in nicely. When zoomed, you can pause the screen to see what you're reading better. It also can change colors to grey scale, yellow, reverse, etc. Very helpful, and well designed!
When I first got on it I was able to turn my tablet side ways and see full view which was great then for some reason it went up n down and wasn't able to turn it to watch it the right way. Now I have to watch the show on my tv up and down if not fixed will uninstall it.
It't been installed for about a week. I was able to use it one time after that. I was never able to get it to focus. I would turn the focus on and off and neither worked and once it got to the color page I could not figure out how to get rid of the color page. didn't like it
Works great! Does just what you'd think it should do. You DO need a steady hand at the higher zoom level. (Maybe needs a digital stabilizer function? Just kidding - keep it clean and small.)
I tried this app a while back and it didnt work well. Gave it another try today; works fantastic! 5 stars! Clear, sharp image, really helps with small print. The freeze feature is great too. 👍👍👍
Very helpful reading all the small model and serial numbers, etc. I have to access. Especially helpful that I can turn on the light in out of the way places.
I love it! I have lupus which affects my eyes so my vision varies from day to day. These "Reading Glasses" adjust to whatever strength I need for the day. Of course, everyone prefers "ad free" apps but at least the ads on here are not obnoxious. Thanks guys for developing this awesome app!
I'm at the age where I need reading glasses. This works really well as a magnifier and it's awesome in restaurants where it's hard to read in the low light and the small print. Cool app.
. It just locks up in never works again there is no way to reset it to 0 so it resumes as a magnifying glass. If you zoom in you are screwed you stay at that zoom level for ever. Terrible app.
Cool little app, especially useful to read small print when u forgot your glasses! Image can be zoomed in, auto focused, then image captured and saved...very useful and fun!
Impossible to use out of range of the network. Of course, when you're out of network access range, you never need to read small print... right? (Ridiculous!)
It works great but is a little fuzzy in low light conditions but there is a lightning bolt that turns on the camera light then works perfectly. Recommended!!
Works fine. Easy to use as long as your hands are free. Light is a plus. Found it most useful as a backup for when regular readers aren't available
Easy to adjust, and having light is another job well done as reading prints on construction site with poor lighting can be an issue. Not only read fine print, the light with auto focus is a bonus, problems solved 😎
Saves your eyes! Whenever needed glasses and forgotten to have in car with me , this app is so helpful!! Instantly opens as magnifier ! Fantastic when needing to read fine print on road maps etc (yes Im old school 😁)
It's very good but it could be great. There's no settings button or as best I can tell a way to keep options as you like. Everytime I launch it the auto focus isn't on I must tap it which makes it cumbersome. Also the amount of taps you have to make on enlarging doesn't stick. Why not let someone keep the amount of enlarging magnifying and the auto focus saved so everytime you launch it it's the same? If I have to launch app, tap auto focus, tap several times the magnifying... Everytime...I'd rather pull out reading glasses. Good... But not great app
