Real Simple Image Widget

Lightweight, invisible in app drawer, no ads, does exactly what was advertised. If you are seeking a simple widget with no need for customizations, highly recommended.

update on this review. i can easily change my review from 3 to 5 starts, because: WOW, I've never had such a quick response from a developer and a perfect fix. I'm extremely impressed! The fix seems to have solved the problem! I've been real happy until the last update. now the pictures aren't loading and it simply has a statement that says 'loading image" in view all the time instead of the pictures.

Brilliant!!! Although, I'd love to see the glitch, where it asks you to replace the existing image, a feature. I've tried multiple attempts to recreate the glitch, seems to happen randomly. Is there some kind of magic secret transparent button to press to get the 'Photo picker' to display?

Seems to work fine and as intended for now! Old review: Does what it's intended to do but frequently hangs on "loading image" screen requiring you to remove the widget, replace it, reselect the image, and do it all over again when it eventually bugs ou t again. It would be a nice app if it didn't always bug out like that.

Works very easily, just select it from the widget screen and pick a picture. You can resize it, and place multiple. Would be great if it could support transparent images like .png to customize your phone in more fun ways. Now transparency is shown as white.

Sorry but I have some bad news about this app. It frequently misbehaves. Sometimes it can't find the image file, sometimes the widget vanishes entirely. A terrific idea but poorly implemented. I would definitely come back if it got fixed.

Hey man. Really liked the app previously but lately it hasn't been working. Saw your responses about new updates that should've fixed the issue so I tried uninstalling and installing it again. It still doesn't display the image on the widget. Hope you find a way to fix this issue.

Installed ok and first time and i set the widget picture on my home screen and resized it to a bigger size. First time i tapped the widget/picture it opened my gallery but not the picture itself which would be better but not the end of the world. Backed out of gallery back to homescreen and clicked on widget again and nothing happend. The picture stays on screen and i can resize it or move it around but tapping on it does nothing.

Used to work well, and I like it in general. However there are many cases where you can't change images easily without removing the widget from the screen once.

Amazingly lite weight and simple. * But when i accedentily click the image It's bring to a place where i can change the image. I don’t want that. After setting up one image when i click it, it should Full screen or do nothing.

I was just looking for something super simple to place a picture on my home screen. No frames, no shadows, just my picture and I didn't realize it was so hard after going through a few apps! This one does exactly what I need. Thank you!

Works and no ads. I like these simple apps that do basic things and have no ads. There's little reason for something this simple to be bloated, and this app isn't. Great job.

Does exactly what I want - it can show png photos with transparent background! This means that homeimage is not obstructed by displayed picture's frame. It perfectly satisfies my usecase - using homescreen as a daily reminder using icons (Representing workout, meditation e.g) that do not ruin the looks of homescreen image.

This is exactly what I was looking for. No fuss, simple, straight forward widget that displays an image from my gallery. It works perfectly, and the size of the widget can be adjusted. Thank you! 💕

The widget changed ìts name so the old set widgets do not call it properly

Nice! But would me more nice if you could add an option to turn off on click feature, where nothing happens when you click on the png. Now it goes to selection a new image its annoying.

Stopped working. Please fix. Was best picture widget I found so far. Updated to android 11 and just app icon appears after selecting picture. Update: doesn't work on QHD. Still works on FHD.

Years of absolute satisfaction. Had a bug once, the developer found a fix the next day and pushed an update. Excellent PNG support, reliable and resourceless, would totally recommand

Fantastic simple photo widget with fantastic technical support. I reported a bug after a recent update here in the reviews and the developer was quick to respond and provide an update. Thank you and great job!

Was working fine. This update is supposed to solve the "image loading problem". LOL now NOT A SINGLE image gets loaded after the update! Wonder why people try to fix something that doesn't require fixing. The app is rendered useless as of now.

Does what it says. No ads. No purchases. Just images on the home page. Handy if you often need to show the same image to others.

Works very well. Updated often to keep up with new Android versions, and to squash any bugs (if any).

Good and does what it says. I think people may have experienced the widget viewing their gallery when tapping on the widget as you need to lock your desktop.

Officially the best app ever. Let me tell you my use case. I am studying french. Before I used to change my screen saver every day to a new one with words. Now, I only change the image and it's in my screen. I love it.

Ahhhh, always my image become loading image, so annoying. Update does not fix it. Have to waste many time to reset back image. Hope developer can fix in the future.

I like how the widget looks and how it is formatted, but it often shows the logo instead of the selected picture after the phone is shut off.

Have had photos within this widget on my home screens forever, and today they all disappeared and now I'm left with just that widgets logo in all of those spots. Furious! Today's update removed all the photos from my home screens.

Nice when it works, needs setup after every restart. It's annoying but there aren't many alternatives that I know of.
