Really Bad Chess

This game is basically unplayable now due to random adds that pop up unexpectedly. The ads used to pop up at the end of a match, and that was just fine. Now they pop up literally mid move, and half the time you end up clicking on an ad expecting to have completed your move. Sadly, I've had this game for a while, but think I'm going to delete it.

Really fun game with an interesting Twist on chess although sometimes it does glitch and not register a move or a win until you close the game and open it back up again. Would have given it four Stars if not for the fact that yesterday after update it started playing ads after every game. I watch enough ads already when I want more undos. I really liked that this was one of the few games that didn't force you to watch ads, but I guess not anymore. Really disappointing.

The game is really creative and fun, but a recent update added ads that show instantly after you win or lose. I've played the game for a long time and was actually going to buy the ad free version only to discover you can only pay to remove banner ads not all ads. Release a package to purchase an ad free experience and I will buy it and change my rating to 5* but as it stands the game is almost not worth playing anymore.

Nice game, funny and potentially challenging. I paid $ because it's so interesting. Just for UI thing, would love to have an option to hide the overlay on a finished game so I can see both players taken pieces and also see the final board. Just a 'nice to have' if you have time. Then, if I have time, I might add a star to this review. 😀

It's a very interesting game, and it's fun to play, but every move you play is timed. And because randomly you'll get an ad that your forced to watch, you'll run out of time and lose the match. So if your playing with Internet it's almost impossible to win unless you get a short ad. Very cool game, stupid problem.

The concept is quite good and "undoes" etc make it playable. However the latest version is completely overburden with adverts which interrupt and distract. Even more irritating is the length of adverts and the endless repetition of the same ones. While this is the free version and adverts are inevitable there is a balance and this isn't it.

On launching the app, I am presented with a splash screen and then ... a solid pinkish-purple screen and nothing else. No game, nothing. (Looking at other recent reviews I suspect I might have found it unplayable because of all the ads, but it never got as far as showing me any.)

I love the concept and execution, I play every morning to help wake myself up. but the game has started freezing randomly during the daily matches and it counts that as a failed match. You only get two tries and both of them freeze. No longer part of my routine

It is nice and the concept is fun. However since last update ads play right before checkmate. You do the checkmate move and ads start straight away... and then you go to the win/lose screen. I used to watch ads for undos, but forcing me to watch them every game is a big no. Uninstalling...

Game sometime closes on me.. i kinda wish the game would correct the difference between a checkmate and stalemate🤷‍♂️ otherwise its pretty fun having the random pieces. Update they started putting ads on every match you play, instead of just on the redos, kinda wack since it wasn't like that for the past few years.

After the developers fixed thr problems I had with it I played a round and liked it. I think it is an amazing concept for chess. It is not something that I personally like a lot but I thing a lot of people will like it. Thank-you devs for fixing my problems.

At first I thought it was a Really Bad Chess game. However, I quickly realized that this can teach you the fundamentals of chess such as controlling the board, planning, pins, etc. The ads are a bit annoying but I think the game definitely has a purpose.

Really good game, takes out the formulaic side of chess of learning moves and counters, creates a genuine challenge. However, it is now unstable and crashes a lot on initial start or within the first 20 seconds.

Used to like this game, but now the ads have made it not worth playing. I understand the Devs need to be paid, but 2 ads between every game that can't be skipped is a bit much. Gave 3 stars because the game itself is still good for anyone with the patience to deal with the ads.

Game used to be loads of fun. Now I can't get it to load a match, or if it does, it crashes mid game. I've Uninstalled and re-installed a few times, and still the same bugs. Unfortunate.

This game freezes up at startup, crashes during the match, and a loud ad at the end of each match is extremely annoying. I'd like to pay to get rid of the ads but €5 is not a fair price for it

Unusual and very cool. I like the strategies. The Ads after latest update are invasive. I was prepared to watch them before, but now they appear immediately on conclusion of a game in a very annoying way.

It was great until they made the brilliant decision to add unskippable 30-second ads that pop up every few minutes, making this game basically unplayable. Well done.

It's a cool version of chess, I like it. I have a problem, though. While I'm thinking of a move, the screen turns off. Dev needs to change something so that this doesn't happen. I don't like to tap the screen every 15 seconds to keep the game open.

Downgrading my review because... C'mon, don't put ads right before the victory screen. It's so dissatisfying. You could put them after the victory screen and they would be much less annoying.

A wonderful way to play chess and work your brain. You find yourself in interesting scenarios that never occur in normal chess. Creativity and adaptability are just as important as logic here, which I love.

I've had this game for 5+ years, cant even play anymore. Constantly freezes during games. Loses daily puzzle attempts, almost always both. Very frustrating

Unique and interesting. Take a break from the routine chess. UI is great as well. Overall refreshing and a great experience.

Could not play the game just loads up as a magenta screen and it just stays that way even though google play is signed in. Im getting this on my huawei p30 which is only 3 years old. Ive uninstalled and reinstalled this game three times and it still freezes on a magnta screen. PLEASE FIX.

Would give it 5 stars but after the last update, it started playing ads right when the game is over which is really jarring. First few times i didn't even know what was happening and just had to assume i won.

You used to only have to watch ads to get more undos but recently I'll get ads in the middle of a game without warning and it's very jarring to be pulled out of a match like that.

Fun game! It's a great idea that seems like it shouldn't work but does somehow. It probably won't help your chess game, but challenges your over the board play in ways you might not have imagined.
