good, but slow. Edit after reading NumReceipt's response: I didn't have time to be more succinct when I posted the review... the slowness is me, not the app. Specifically in cropping the images of receipts, it is difficult for me to quickly crop as the touch and drag method is very sensitive on my Android phone. But the app is very useful. hence the 5 stars. So it's the physical process, not the app, that is slow.
It's a great app, designed very well. I had some difficulty loading it which was no ones fault but mine and when I called the help line the man who answered was very nice and helpful. l would certainly recommend this app, which I did already. The one problem I did notice was that the information extraction is'nt very accurate, but that's easily overcome.
Through the years (now 3 I think), I have found both the Android app and web interface via browser to have numerous bugs & glitches. More recently, the Android software seems to want to update damn near every time I open it... making it inconvenient. I had hoped (when I changed from lemon) this would "grow-up" to solid functionality, but it has yet to meet that criteria. Focusing on streamlined uniformity, speedy data-entry design, and accuracy would elevate this product.
This is a useful app, with responsive customer service. Easy to use, mostly... The only two flaws I'm currently noticing is 1) the need for a tip option since almost every service and dining experience these days requires one and 2) the breakout option is a little clunky, when you want to itemize a receipt. So I still put it in the notes, which messes with the reporting process. Not a perfect app, but pretty good. Appreciate the responsiveness.
The app does what it promises. So far on the free version I can scan my receipts and the app will fill in the retailer and amount of money spent. It is not always accurate, though I suspect those in the USA would have a better experience. I do like that it allows you to edit the details in case the reader makes a mistake. I also really appreciate that it has my currency. I tried many apps but I had to delete them because they boasted multiple currencies but had most popular ones only. Kudos.
So Awesome! I just take pictures and categorize the receipts that are the most important, or have a warranty, or that I know I'm likely going to have to take back (You don't need to do every receipt unless you want to keep detailed records and create reports of everything). Then, when I need the receipt like to return something, I easily do a search with words such as toaster, or Norton Security, or Red Wagon, and find it instantly. Or I can search by date, category, etc.
Good effort but misses the mark for me. Free version doesn't pull out date. It's a subscription service but the Pro features aren't worth the cost. If I had a business I might be able justify the cost but wanted it was personal use. The dashboard is a nice feature but I would rather have that is part of the subscription and instead get the automatic date free
I have entered 25 receipts with my Android phone without problem. I love the summaries and the fact that all entries incluse a photo of rhe receipt. The app can be easily customized through the webpage. I encountered an issue with the receipt cropping function, sent a message to cust. serv. and am awaiting an answer. So far, a great solution to a common nightmare!!
A great app with great feature set with lots of good tools and reports, so after just a few days use I paid for the PLUS version. However after a few weeks use, while I still like it my reason for average score is the OCR!! While it scans every time, the scanning results are very hit & miss... It often gets the Retailer and value wrong which then needs manual changing defeating the objective. Having tried multiple receipt apps, if OCR could be fixed this would be the best on the market today!
FANTASTIC!!!!!! Exactly what I was looking for!! Not sure how many it will store but I need a spreadsheet with totals and this app easily converts the images to an Excel doc with headers & a total for me! It doesn't find the total most of the time but it recognizes all the text so I can just select the correct one.
Easy to use, can customize categories & generate reports, in summary or with detail. Has OCR for receipts, & though it nails it less than 50%, you can select retailer's name (multiple words) & total on receipt image. Only 2x (out of dozens) it failed to recognize name or amount text. Has a quirk - it selects sub-total, then lets you enter tax (auto in paid vers.). Maybe helpful sometimes, but fails when adjustments after sub-total. Allows only 2 images (long receipts) but bug only saves last one
i was just looking for a simple receipt scanner and expected 2-3 extra apps for my needs, but this pretty app does about everything for my accounting in general. i couldn't find any accounting app with comparable functionality and ease that also had a scanner. It might not have all the things a big CEO would want, but that would clutter it anyway. I only wish for a budgeting section so i didn't have to sync manually with EveryDollar, (i prefer to not link to my bank; I would try Mint otherwise).
Latest UI update is terrible, and makes the app useless as far as I'm concerned. Need to squint to see the buttons over a white background receipt (and most are white). Even though OCR appeared in the little tour the first time I opened the app after the upgrade, I can only find buttons to close, crop, rotate add caption and magic color. OCR button is nowhere to be found. Is it now only available as a premium feature?
Crop seems to be incredibly buggy. When adjusting crop box around my receipt and then selecting crop option the image is cropped around a completely unselected/unrelated area of the image usually the bottom right corner of the image. Other than this the app seems great, unfortunately this piece was the only feature that I needed to work and it doesn't so...moving on I guess 🙁
App is useless unless u live in the USA. Tried changing the country to South Africa, keep going back to USA. OCR function kept scanning amount spent I correctly, won't let you change amount as comma button doesn't work. Can't edit suppliers or categories. A bit of a let down. App has lots of potential but needs work to make is globally usable by non US citizens
This app. looked promising however evertime I used it the app. would defult to USD and I would have to reset it to AUD, then when I make an entry I need to set the currency to AUD for that entry. Realy waste of time. I can't see any set up menu to set the application for my country e.g. AUD instead of USD , Kilometers instead pf miles (why do the Americans still such an archaic measuring system ?) . On top of this it keeps crashing. Sorry didn't work for uninstalled it.
Earned 5th star with great CS. Addressed a bug quickly and let me know fix was ready. Pros: - OCR is included with the free version -Fairly intuitive interface -Correcting OCR errors is pretty easy; direct input by keyboard or selecting alternate text from reciept image by tapping prefered highlighted text -lot of categories to choose and easy to add more Cons -have to go back into an entry to itemize -would like it to subtract itemized prices from a subtotal
It's free and the ads are non-invasive. I didn't trust it with my bank account info but if you're looking to just update receipts into a tracker then this is for you. As a bonus, I can say I've saved a little money because of this app by way of stopping to think before I spend more often.
last upgrade scanning OCR automatically is not accurate. As you are going through the process it asks if you want to see this message again and regardless of what you check off or leave blank it still prompts you each time, inputting information takes longer than usual.. love your app but can't give you higher rating until these things are fixed
Awesome! New Scan Expense Beta - a perfect update. Stored 20 receipts within 5 mins. Far better than any other receipt scanner app in market. Better reports on expenses based on spending category and travel miles which deserves 👍. Free subscription served my purpose, but still paid plan(30 days free trial available) with all features unlocked really had cut down my efforts & saved lot of time. Highly recommended for Shopping Lovers🛒 and Travellers🚖. Not sure about business and accountant plan
Outstanding app! Really functional and useful. Reasonably straightforward to use. OCR reader combined with whatever the AI is actually pretty good. UI/UX could be better but I'm a function over form type of guy when it comes to useful utility apps like this. Very satisfied after only a half day of use and scanning 25 receipts.
this is a trail run for me. so far I like the simplicity of this app. although I have the free version, it still very robust with charts that you can utilize to see multiple things. I'm definitely thinking about purchasing the pro to get more perks!!
The free version gets 3 stars... Have explored as much as one can in free version. The reports are too limited to know App's full capabilities unless you upgrade. Looks good and I'm sure it does do more but I don't need it enough to pay for it. Paid version may very well be worth more stars.
Errors and inconsistencies. The OCR feature is absolutely terrible. Only the pro subscrion for $99 a year allows you to extract the date and tax amount. Even if I wanted to pay that the OCR gets everything wrong. The free version has ads and is limited. Income reports are only available on the $99 version. On the pro list we see a lovely interface, easy scans (with errors) with a great crop feature, a variety of reports, and a clear website. My main interest was the scan feature unfortunately.
