Receipts by Wave for business

Pretty handy, although app wants to sync before letting you take pics of receipts, no need, could sync data without it being a blocking issue, and make the experience faster and easier. Be careful trusting it with automatic VAT calculations, if you can get them to work at all the app will calculate 20% (or whatever) of gross, not net - ie £24 on £120 instead of £20. Sounds small, but HMRC will not be impressed. Website gets it right, so maybe only enter your VAT on there. On the upside, once you get into the habit of using it, it's handy.

Easy to use. Excellent for new comers to small business. Syncs with the online desktop site where you can see the comprehensive details of your account incoming and outgoing.. Profit loss.. A lot of thought has gone into making this product as easy to use as possible whilst meeting the need for it to cover everything you need at tax time. Complex data.. Simple application.

Great concept, I still use it to scan receipts, but this app is and always has been stupid slow. Takes well over a minute to get scan opened and ready to function. Do all your process stuff in the background. Maybe I just don't understand app development. Open the app and have it open the camera and ready to scan... Do anything else you want behind the scenes when time doesn't matter as much.

I havent used this app allot yet, im just getting to know it. The reciept recognition is pretty awesome though. One thing that I'd like to see is the ability to use multiple categories for a reciept. Even being able to disignate a reciept as both business and personal would be a great addition as well. Other than that, i like what i have used so far quite a bit.

seriously freaking good. Wave Receipts and the invoicing apps are awesome. I only just realised that there is a full accounting system that you can only access via a web browser. I have now replaced my old accounting system because Wave Accounting is free and it's freaking awesome. I am now getting into the habit of taking pictures of my receipts as soon as i get them so i don't have to keep the hard copy. No more stressing out at tax time. Thanks Wave Apps for making it free and really good!

The UI can be a bit slow on my Pixel, but other than that the service works exactly as expected and makes year end business taxes a bit less awful. Update: dropping this from 5* to 3*. I dont know what's happened to it but the app barely works anymore. Takes absolutely ages to become responsive and won't capture pictures anymore once it does. I can still include my own pictures and it still parses them nicely, I guess.

So far the interface is simple enough to use but definitely buggy and not fully sync to the website (i.e. receipt is categorized on site but says "uncategorized" in app). Suggestion is to allow a "report bug" function with more app updates. And hopefully Wave will eventually create one app for the most used functions on the webpage & more (mileage tracker, etc)

Slow & Buggy App is very slow to load and the responsiveness is just as bad. Last few updates have been very buggy. The latest update like others in the past, still dont remove old categories (that dont even exsist anymore) and more importantly have removed all the payment accounts making the app unusable. I like using Wave but these types of issues have been going on for months and I'm getting tired of having to deal these issues that never seem to get resolved.

App is better than others I've used and little to no errors. Has a very intuitive design and keeps record keeping simplistic. I decided to try this after having to completely do all over an entire years worth of book work after a well known and expensive accounting software company made all of my entries beyond a state of repair. I highly recommend this for beginners and seasoned business owners. I wish I had known about this sooner myself.

Horribly unresponsive. You have to continually press the buttons and then eventually it'll take 6 photos in a row, then the same problem with deleting the extra ones. Shame, because if you use the invoicing software it's the perfect partner. Please improve.

Great little app- read on for workaround - it is very painless to use to gather your receipts digitally. There is a major flaw in it, but it is easy to work around. You take pictures of all your receipts (they stack up on the edge of the screen) and then click the blue tick. Now in Android, you need to click the home button, then the square button, then swipe up to kill Receipts. Then start the program again, your receipts will then get processed and you can categorise and post them to accounts

This app is crazy. It does everything right: scans images sharply (better than the other 3 or 4 I tried like Jenji, Zoho, etc.), scans all the info correctly, even with greater level of detail than others, and it seems able to pass it all to a CSV file. And all this is done smoothly without many fuzzy options. However, after scanning everything much better than the other apps, it asks you to fill some "expense category" they came up with. And of course, adding the category is manual work while the whole point of this app is.... AVOIDING MANUAL WORK. If I have to fill stuff manually then I just scan stuff and fill it in my desktop. I hope they just delete the useless expense categorization requirements so this brilliant app can actually... do the work which seems to be able to do very nicely. Update: You cannot even delete your account following their own instructions. Good!

I rate the app itself a 2. 1) No ability to crop the receipt, 2) doesn't actually scan the info although lengthy "processing," 3) date advances by one month on its own. No matter how many times I change it, it reverts to 30 days later, 4) no ability to edit *in the app* after verified. However, I do appreciate that customer support is responsive, hence my overall rating of 3.

I've tried a few apps and this is by far the easiest and most flexible for receipt input. You can bulk photo a pile of receipts no questions asked, and then update details later, either on the app or online, and a fantastic feature is you can then transfer any receipt to any business even someone elses (if you have access) so no need to sort the receipts in advance. I do hope they reintroduce bank connections for the UK though, would happily pay for that.

1. camera access from app sometimes takes a pic, sometimes not, you have to continually press button to eventually get a picture; 2. once a pic is taken it takes forever for it to show up in que and your camera auto. stays on 3. it rarely ever captures info from reg. receipts, if it does takes 15+ min. 4. if you have mult receipts to input its glitchy as hell.

Buggy, uninstall. This is slow and since the last update I cannot upload receipts from a gallery; it used to let you crop the images as well and then hit the checkmark and upload to wave but it no longer does that . The entire process to add images of receipts to your transactions is cumbersome. Save yourself the time and use Fresh books or QuickBooks online instead where you can just add an attachment directly to a transaction rather than uploading, verifying then merging.

love the app. very handy. Can you guys try to see if its viable to add a in-app cropping function for the photo? would be awesome. check out TinyScanner, some of the features such as making tbe receipt look like a scanned image is also cool. but not so neefed. would be awesome if you can add the crop !

when I take a photo of the receipt it and then press the "tick" icon on the right side, it doesn't proceed to the next step, instead it pauses and takes like 30seconds for it to move onto the next page? And sometimes you can't even take a photo? The App isn't responding?

Great for receipts, especially if you run multiple businesses. But if you do not have. receipt for a cash transaction you cannot enter it. You may be able to do it on desktop, but it is likely i will forget unless i write it down and then that defeats the whole purpose. Please allow manual adding of expenses within the app. Thank you.

The buttons for the different taxes have been moved to various parts of the screen. Have to be more diligent about hitting the right 'button'. It was easier before. Quite a few receipts get stuck and stay in processing.

Very good app and very good reading receipts. It is not a 5-star since is it is too slow starting up the camera to take a picture right away, at least on my Android xiaomi a2 lite. I find nice that you can scan multiple receipts at a time so I can scan once a day all the receipt of the day but I have to save them and keep organised.

Love the Wave system overall, but the mobile receipts app is virtually unusable. Takes less time to take pictures of receipts with phone's camera, upload to computer and then upload through Wave web app. It was slow before, but the new updates are awful.
