Recreation.gov

Updated the app. Now when I search a state on the app it says no results. Before I could look at a state and see all parks. Now all I see is a map of the entire world and when I zoom in it doesn't show any campgrounds. I am using a android phone. Very disappointed. Worked great a few weeks ago. Thank you for fixing the app. The search area or by state is working again.

generally, straight forward app that works well. Areas that could be improved include better information of neatest available campgrounds if the one you are looking at isn't available; and better detail on costs ( too often you get extra costs at the pay page that were not part of the stated cost when you select the campsite).

Great app for booking state parks and campgrounds. I prefer the desktop version as many things are easier to see. For example, when you're looking at a specific site in the mobile app, I can't see site reviews. Otherwise, I like the app.

This app is great but campsite availability is harder to see on mobile versus desktop. Whenever campsites are opening at a specific time, I don't use this app. For everything else: browsing, booking, accessing reservations, this app is great!

This was a great app until it wasent. I have used it for 2 yrs. Loves it and then in just the last 2 months it dosent want to work on my phone. I have done updates and uninstalled it and reinstalled it. It won't let me make reservations. I log on to my account through there website works as normal. Accounts fine. But then I try to do the same with the app. And it kicks me out and won't let me sign in and reserve or book anything. I'm disappointed it sucks because I really liked this app

Won't show you all the information that's available on the website relevant to what you are doing. For example in rocky mountain, there is a timed entry and on the website it shows you all the time & when they will be available. On the app it shows you non of that.

Really good app for the most part. However, some of the map locations are way off, making it difficult to figure out where to camp and if a Campground is worthwhile.

the app has improved greatly over just the last couple of years, I thought it was a bit rough when I downloaded it back in 2019, but a lot of the bugs are gone and as of now, May 2022, I feel the app is working if it's full potential.

app is easy to use but it's not always clear what any given trip requires between passes, permits, etc. developers: a trip-planner that broke down what's needed for any given destination would be very helpful

I particularly don't like the new reservation requirements for the waterfront sites, but booking them through this app is definitely painless. I feel that if you want the site, get the site. Get there and reserve it with your self and gear. reservations are for the lame.

Once you are accustomed to how Rec.gov works the app is easy to use. Easy to make reservations. Definitely set up your profile and pass. Makes check out quick and easy.

This app is great! It’s easy to work with and it shows pictures of each site. Would like to have more pictures of the area around each site, how close to other sites and the road access to each site for those of us that can't back up very well!

App works well, user friendly. However, I prefer long term camping; the 14 day limit doesn't settle well with me. I'd prefer the COE better control the parks to rid those who are setting up homestead, not camping... and not limit us who enjoy long term camping without frequent moves to other parks. I'm not a big fan of setting up and breaking down camp.. I like to stay a while when I get the opportunity to go. Too much work..

It's so easy. The information along with the pictures makes finding the camp sites easy as well. I have never had a problem with scheduling or canceling a reservation. Out standing service for sure.

Wish we could go back to the days of mailing and faxing in permit requests, because using an app makes it too easy to to request a permit, more and more people are flooding into the process with very little effort. That being said, the app IS easy to use and is very convenient, almost too convenient...

New version of app doesn't show specific sites availability when you have clicked down to a site. It shows campground availability. We chose a site thinking it was open for the weekend but it wasn't. It used to work for individual site availability.

Nice campground, clean and easy to get to. Dump station is a pain because its on a slant. shower house could be updated a bit. Most of the staff are friendly. Others not so. Call signal is good in most places. Sites are nice and fairly private, bring leveling blocks.

The recreation app is very easy to use. It makes finding and reserving sites that fit your needs an effortless task. plus it keeps track of all reservations so you can find them quickly.

Honestly it's not the most friendly UI but it's very similar to the desktop version so at least it's painfully consistent. But it gets you where you need to go to book a site.

As I am more of a novice to RVing and making reservations, I find the NPS and Recreation.gov sites extremely helpful. This is especially true when most popular sites are booked months and months in advance, it is a welcome to find comparable parks to stay in without jeopardizing the beauty of nature.

You check the box to save your payment info, but still have to enter all of it every time. You save your discount card info in your account, but still have to enter it every time. I see no benefit to the app over the website, and the app just takes up storage room on my phone. It could be a very helpful app with a bit more development, but as it is, it's not that useful.

Have made my 2nd reservation so far and the first trip was great and went according to plan. Love the app but would love to see an overview map of all locations unless I just havent figured it out yet.

I love the app but it didn't work correctly. I thought it had timed out on one site I was trying to pay for, because the payment wasn't going through. I presumed it had gotten filled. So I reserved another one, but then it turns out it had saved the previous one. Then it wanted to charge me a big cancellation fee, which I'm trying to work out with the reservation site by phone. Otherwise it's a very well-constructed, and user-friendly app.

I have been unable to process payment online through the app and was told that it required an update. Other than the inconvenience of having to call to process the payment the app works great. I'll post if the updated app isn't working as noted in previous reviews.

Good app, well made. Does not recall and populate the discount cards. you have to enter the digits every time again when booking.

Great camping parks.... have never been disappointed. All staff very friendly and helpful. All the campgrounds we have been to are very clean and well kept!!

after you figure out how to work the dates and add to favorites you can add a date range and search for open sites. that has change the whole game being able to see it all at once.

As for Marion Reservoir this is the most rediculous app I have ever seen. It simply does not work and when you call Marion they push you off to another number and when you call that number you get a message that the number is not in service. No one is at the guard shack to take your money because there was no interest, I find that hard to believe. What a joke

So frustrating!! The app is great for research. But when trying to make a reservation at a spot that's difficult to get reservations, the app told me it could not book because I already had reservations in flight, but I had none & missed my dream spot that was actually available for me to book if the app didn't error. Not the 1st time either.

I like the site-photos and site descriptions are helpful. it would be nice if you could look up region and not only a single park.
