Red Carnival (IceBlink RPG)

Red Carnival (an IceBlink Engine RPG)
Story and Turn-based role playing game (RPG) implementing a classic old-school computer RPG style.

This is the third adventure module converted for the IceBlink Engine Android Version (The Raventhal and Lanterna are also available on Google Play).

Story, music and most artwork by Karl (youngneil1)Coding and some artwork by slowdive_fanIceBlink Engine and port to Android by slowdive_fan (aka me)

Features:
- designed for phones, but scales well on tablets (I have a galaxy tab 3 8").
- FREE, NO ads and NO in-app purchase stuff.
- turn-based combat similar in style to the SSI Gold Box games.
- great RPG story telling conversation system.
- single player RPG (you control all party members) game.
- multiple companions can join your party.
- five races, four classes and many spells to choose from.
- multiple saves available (save often).
- lots of items to find and wield.
- this is a short story (2-3 hours) so, yes, it is short. It's an intro to the Grahir setting. Larger campaign to come.

Progress Reporting Feature:A fun new way to share your play through experience with others. There is a toggle button on the main map screen labeled "PR" (bottom right toggle button). Pressing this button will turn Progress Reporting on and off. If you do not wish to share your play through experience, no problem, just turn off Progress Reporting. If you do wish to share, leave the "PR" button on. If Progress Reporting is on, then at a number of milestone events, it will send your party's current stats to our Google Analytics Dashboard. I will post the listings of Progress Reports to our forums (see our website link below) for others to share in the experience. No personally identifiable information is collected, just information about your party. The tag that will separate your Progress Report from others is your main PC's name. We are excited to see how others are enjoying our adventure stories so we hope you enjoy this new feature as well.

Red Carnival Adventure Module Description by Karl:"Red Carnival is a short fantasy adventure module for the IceBlink Engine (IB). It sends you on a fantastic journey to the little, unfortunately trouble ridden village of Broken Antler far in the north of Cormondor, the First Kingdom of Men on Grahir. Grahir is the name of the world's main continent and also the name of a large campaign I plan to develop for IB in the coming months and years. Red Carnival is a mere prelude to that campaign."

Note from Karl the Author of Red Carnival: "The gameworld of Grahir and all relevant lore content
- e.g. names, places, characters, stories, setting, background
- remain an exclusive IP of mine in any case (as I write a fantasy novel on that and will use it for the upcoming campaign)."

Red Carnival was originally Created by Karl for the IceBlink Engine (IB) while the engine was still in the Alpha stage. I ported the IB engine (original engine and toolset I created for the PC) to Android and converted The Raventhal, Lanterna
- The Exile and now Red Carnival adventure modules from the PC versions to Android. The IceBlink Engine is inspired by some of my favorite cRPGs (many being old retro style RPGs) such as the SSI Gold Box Games, original Bard's Tale, Ultima, and the Infinity Engine games (like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale...be sure to check out Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition and Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition now on Android) and my 6+ years of experience with building adventure modules in Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2.

Red carnival is great. I just wish there was more. I have played a few of these iceblink engine games and love them all. I wish I had never deleted them after I finished because now I cant find them. Well worth playing. Just know that it is short and you only go to 5th level.

enjoyed immensely. good story, great dialogue, quirky characters, odd but effective musical choices and classic tabletop-esque action

Fun short game, it's hard but not unbeatable. Ad free, great stuff looking forward to more.

For me, games like this shine. Leaves so much for the imagination which is a refreshing angle of the playing experience.

Had problems with the initial startup of the game. The game would not allow me to create a party with more than (1) PC in the party.

Challenging and fair; an honest little rpg. Can't wait for further modules!

Too many cleared games, but bored

2 for effort. I like the attempt to create a more interesting telling with the custom art but on smaller screens the images are barely legible. Storyline was original and engaging 1 more star for that. The triggers need some polish getting buggy issues with inventory and random replay of original encounter with npc when I change party member.

Awesome!!! I have throughly enjoyed your little game, although weird and baffling at times,it played out Wonderfully. The beginning was slow at first, but after much trial and error made it through the game.Well Written, this game is very different than the others,The writer did a excellent job !!! Looking forward to New Chapters in All Ice Blink games, and Any New games to follow.

All I could expect and more from a freebie. The drawing background can be more easily navigated if the grid is made visible in settings.

The graphics are a mess. I liked the music. Definitely not like Raventhal.

This game felt a little quicker than the others in Bree Arts' offering, and due to the nature of the plot, had less variation in the interactions with non-party NPCs. Still very much worth the download.

Reminiscent of old school Gold Box D&D games. Excellent value for the price.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but this game seems impossible. Can't last more than one battle. It says Feynor has joined the party but I never see him in battles. Maybe better instructions?

This is my first DND game again for ages, never thought I can play through android. Brings back great memories in my DND days.. I was just hoping a little improvement in graphics, just like DND on PC back then.. Still, its worth a 5 stars. Although I am a ranger, I finished the game without even finding a bow. The story is a little short, but maybe that's how this game works. Again thanks.

Too short but saved by a half decent storyline then ruined by amateurish graphics.

Incredible HD graphics and next gen gameplay. This virtual reality experience is a timeless classic and one to be remembered for years to come. God bless you

Liked it, but found it to be short and a bit clunky with the controls.

Good game, can't wait for more content. I'd love to redo the art for this game. If the maps were drawn better, it'd be a gem of a game.

Not fitting music, awkward graphics and rather short. But has its charms :-)

Probably my fave Iceblink campaign so far. Wonderful to finally get a wizard PC. Please make more!

Whose idea was it to make the player start with 1 party member when there is a version of the game that allows for 6?!...well whoever it is ,they need to know it was a really idea, cause here I am uninstalling this one , and keeping the other.

It helped me get thru part of a boring shift!!! Only thing i have to say is... Dont put a ranger bow in it when none of the npcs are rangers.

This RPG hearkens back to the golden age of SSI RPG's. The story is wonderful & very Ravenloftian. If you like old school turn based RPG's I highly recommend you give this game a try! :)
