Red in Bed: kids book

"Red in Bed is a delightful app. Having read it several times already, I think it may be one of my top five storybook apps for toddlers."
- Camila Amanda, Geeks with Juniors
5/5 stars"The story along with the illustrations would have been sufficient to earn our recommendation, but the interactivity has been perfectly fit into context in this beautiful and very special app. Worth every cent and much more."

"This excellent children's app teaches kids about the colours of the rainbow. It tells the tale of the colours painting the world, apart from Red (who's ill in bed). Each colour gets its own musical note, too – ideal for tap-happy children."

"This simple yet substantive story gives toddlers a valuable primer on color and music."

5/5 stars"fun and educational!"
- Nikki, theiphonemom.com

"The app is very simple to use: when your child taps on a colour, it jumps up and sounds a note – and you can ‘play’ more than one colour at a time so it’s great fun for little fingers."

---------------------------------

Red In Bed is an original story about the colors of the rainbow who on this particular day cover for Red who stays in bed, sick. It is written, illustrated and developed by Josh On, an interaction designer who wanted to keep the simplicity of a classic children’s book while adding a layer of gentle interactivity to help involve the child in the narrative directly.

Each color has a note which sounds on a tap, together they can be played like a musical instrument. This interactivity is aimed at pulling the child into the story. As each color goes to saturate objects of the world in their hue, the child reader can touch each object and it will fill with that color and play the color’s note.

A little short, but can't really complain for 59 pence. Would be really good if a narrator with a good voice could read each page.

Was so happy that my 2yr old was laughing her head of just pressing the colours on the start screen! Excellent, a little short but each page is interactive enough to cause plenty of fun!

My 7 year old loved reading it to my 5 year old, taking turns. And they found the secret colours. Plus I taught them to play twinkle little star on the home page colours piano ! Recommended.
