Redream has exceeded my expectations. Even more graphically demanding games such as Test Drive: Le Mans and Jet Set Radio run flawlessly on this emulator. No input delay to be felt on a PS4 controller nor the touch screen. You can even play multiplayer! That's not to say the app is flawless, though. Games like Rayman 2 weren't even detected. Sonic Shuffle has major graphical glitches and NFL and 4x4 Evo run horribly, though probably because of my phone rather than the app. Faults aside, 5 stars.

I'm using this on a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with an Xbox One controller. After configuring the app to use RT/LT and not RB/LB, I can honestly say that this is as close to the Dreamcast experience that you can get. I owned a Dreamcast years ago and loved it. This app provides an almost identical experience. The games perform flawlessly (even Marvel vs Capcom 2). Had no problem at all paying for the premium version.

Great with a few issues. Pros, the controller support is automatic and responsive. Games the run, run very smoothly. Cons, The box art doesn't show the proper game for a few titles, power stone 2 shows up as chu chu rocket for example. The ability to manually fix this would be helpful. Some games don't show up at all like Maken X. There is no way to manually select the files. I'm also getting black screens on other titles Skys of Arcadia and Cyber Troopers don't make it to the menus.

Yes I had one star on this amazing application and I feel so bad a bout it, when I get money I'll pay for the pro version. This has to be the best dream cast I've seen I have Retro arc, but it doesn't compare to this. Thank you so much for making this free. I do have one little complaint when I'm in the menu to (in game menu) some of the letters are shadowed over like a graphical glitch or something. Can you please fix that.

Using this on the Retroid pocket 2+. Every 2D Capcom fighter has sprite glitches that no available settings seem to fix (like thin vertical bars are cutting into both the character sprites or backgrounds). MvC2, CvS, and Jojo all have this problem. Trying to tweak things just corrupted the audio in all of them to the point of having to reinstall the app to get the sound working again. Hilariously 3D games so far seem to run marvelously, and even the glitchy 2D games run at a solid frame rate.

It's great. I got the premium version and the incredible quality makes every game so much more enjoyable. I still feel like some features should be added, though. A support to cheats would be nice, and I'd like more options for changing the onscreen controls. The A button is fixed on for some reason, and the opacity can't be changed, which I personally dislike. The sound disappears in turbo mode, and it can't be changed either. Besides all that, this app is amazing. Hope you keep up with it!

Well this was a very pleasant surprise. Didn't know this was coming out and it is a huge step for Dreamcast Emulation. This thing is handling everything I am throwing at it. I am using an Nvidia shield TV and it is almost flawless. Games that previously didn't work or had issues such as Silent Scope, Ready 2 Rumble 2, Sega Bass fishing are all working. Skies of Arcadia which would randomly quit at certain parts of the game is no longer an issue. I am absolutely loving this! It is also super simple to use. Which leads me to my 1 missing star. It's too simple. Maybe I am missing something but is there a way to search for a title? Scrolling through the entire list is tedious. Also there should be the game name in text under the cover art. Some covers it is hard to read the name of the game. Lastly it really needs some sort of VMU management. I was able to add the dreamcast bios to fix the last issue though. EDIT: after some time still great emulator. Ran into a bug where if you have too many roms the emulator randomly force closes. This is getting fixed. Second issue is stuttering when playing from external HDD on shield. Moved to internal and stutter went away.

Man, I've always wanted my Dreamcast days back, but in high definition and I'm so glad you guys did this, I purchased caswell. But the only issues I'm having is with the game Plasma Sword,,, after I choose the 50hz or 60hz for display in the beginning, it makes the screen stretch and it stays at the top of the screen in a weird aspect ratio. If you could please help me with that, I'd be grateful. I'm using a Note 10 plus and even when I go to change the aspect ratio in settings, it doesn't fix

This emulator is actually amazing! It's so nice to see a free emulator that doesn't spam you with ads every 5 seconds if you don't pay for the full version. All the games I have tried run great, and the user interface is really clean and polished. I love the design. One thing to note is that this emulator can't run any dreamcast games that use Windows CE (so no Sega Rally 2). However, it's still one of the best emulators I've used. Will definitely consider buying the full version at some point.

I have installed Redream on my Sony tv with Android OS. To try it out I downloaded Sonic 2 (cdi) in three parts (cd 1, cd 2, cd 3) and put it on a usb stick which I then plugged in my TV port. And I even saw the games with their art work in the library. But whenever I press the first cd, the application stops and I get my TV screen again. The TV did say in all occasions that the usb drive had to be formatted for it to be able to be used to work with on this TV. So with the second USB stick I did this but then I couldn't put the games on the stick. I tried reformatting the USB stick but after that it didn't even show up in the library. Can you give me some tips on how to get this fixed, please? Update: I downloaded GDI files and again I put them on a usb stick. Redream sees it because it shows up in the library but whenever I want to launch it, the app stops. I even have working controllers hooked up on the USB ports of the TV and with them I can navigate through your app but strangely not with the remote control! I am an old Dreamcast owner and I'm thrilled to be able to get this working on my TV!

Best android Dreamcast emulator. The emulator works perfectly, except some minor framerate drop here and there, but nothing too serious. It has bluetooth controller support and works incredibly well. The UI is intuitive and simple. You can play your old games on high resolutions. There was no need for me tu go premium, but I decided to do so anyway to show some appreciation to the developers. Great work, seriously.

This emulator is amazing. I played Sonic Adventure 1 on it, and there were no sound/video/gameplay problems at all, besides a few textures flickering, which wasn't that bad. Still didn't make Big's Story any better, but I doubt even God himself could fix that. tl;dr: Great emulator with nearly zero problems that runs smoothly even on cheap phones. 11/10, would waste time in the Chao Garden again.

Redream is another great Dreamcast emulator that promises to be one of the, if not the best. Part of the reason is that Redream is an ongoing process that keeps evolving. An important aspect of this emulator is that it can run Sega Dreamcast games on Windows 10 and on android in HD. Besides that, you can always render your games in 1080p or 4k to change the gaming experience completely. If you want an ultimate experience, go ahead and buy the premium version, I did it to support the creator.

I always wanted to play dreamcast games, but the other emulators didn't work. I kinda gave up looking for one until i found this one and it has been the best emulator i have ever used. The controls are a bit weird at first, but i got used to it. The save states are good, but it does take some time to save. The games look fantastic on this emulator. Overall I am happy to have found this emulator it does have some issues, but the positive definitely outweigh the negatives.

Amazing app, games work great and controllers work immediately without setup!!! My only issue is that once I connect a controller I don't get any way to return to the menu and quicksave my game. I have to restart the app. Edit: Of course I tried swiping and doing the back gesture but no results. Maybe it has something to do with the new Galaxy Tab gesture navigation. I'll assign a controller key as you suggested.

It's good, works very well! I didn't test too much games, but everything I tried runs great. Lack of options scared me at first, but I guess everything is optimized already and doesn't need tweaking. Have only one problem but it manageable, if you choose your input as a bluetooth controller as default, app will be crushing non stop if you try to launch it without your controller connected. Still great performance as a whole, premiumed immediately.

I have this on android. It's mostly great, but Sonic Adventure 2 doesn't run as smoothly as it should. I've seen a few other reviews talking about this too. It keeps dropping frames and I don't think it's an issue with my phone since about a month or so ago, it ran fine, so this may be an issue with the emulator that could be fixed perhaps. Other than that, its a very good emulator.

Great emulator but I'm having an issue with playing Marvel vs Capcom 2. I'm using a Google Pixel 3a XL with a PS4 controller. While playing, I'd say in my second match the app crashes. I tried different options, such as v sync on, having 64 different layers , vga, composite and others. Some options lasted longer than others. V sync on was my best option for longer play. But still crashes. Please help. And keep up the great work.

I've used a lot of emulators for many different systems, and redream is one of the best. It's simple and somewhat customizable, but the performance is spectacular and smooth. I upgraded to the premium version, and the games look crystal clear in HD. Definitely one of the best emulator experiences I've ever had on Mobile.

i finally figured out how to get the games to play on here. i have a high end phone and the games play decently, but the graphical hiccups and crashes can get frustrating at times. for some reason games seemed to play almost perfectly my first day using it, then the next day they seemed to play significantly worse. in other emulators you can often solve these things in the settings, but the settings are extremely limited here, i've tried everything and can't get it quite right.

Wow, compared to the "Reicast", this is much faster and easier to use. You do not need a bios to run, but of course I'd love to use it, so maybe implementing a function to use bios optionally would be nice. Control mapping is adequate but needs features like hiding buttons, opacity, and individual button resize. Fastest emulation on the market, but lag sometimes occurred in some games (maybe because of my device) so an advanced graphic setting is needed (or does it exist for premium users?)

Sim. S. May 29, 2019

Running this on my shield tv and it is great! games that would not work on reicast play really well on this one. no messing around with bios neither since it does not need one, time is in synch with the Android system time. it is not all perfect though, some at work for roms don't update correctly and there is a minor stutter in some games, also having more than one control device connected causes problems controlling in game (just disconnect them to fix).I bought the hd upgrade which is awesome!
