Botched. MacMillan has an atrocious reputation for releasing software that is blatantly broken. This app tells me I'm not in class when I've been sitting in class for 10 minutes. Every time a question changes, it endlessly buffers and the app needs to be restarted. If you enter an answer, sometimes it endlessly buffers and needs to be restarted. Every time I get into the class page, the "Join" button often doesn't appear for a minute or more. I'm a beta tester at my grades' expense.

The app would keep freezing in the middle of class. This means I'd miss questions and thus lose points toward my class average. Great idea as far as design goes. Very poor reliability.

App likes to lose connection if you turn your phone screen off, which i need to do to conserve battery throughout class. This bugs the app and requires the app to be closed and opened again, meaning you're likely to miss the opportunity to answer a question. Not like it matters, since this app is required lol

The app freezes every time my screen times out. I miss a lot of questions bc iClicker won't recognize my answer before the timer ends.

Constantly fails to send answers and has no safety net to protect students from point loss completely out of our control. Edit: I installed your update. Still constantly fails to send answers and has to be force stopped and hard rebooted to even connect half the time.

Constantly having to leave the class and join again or restart the app. Very stressful while also trying to figure out the question answers before the clock runs out.

I see tons of reviews complaining about connection issues, but I have a newer phone and never had connection or lag issues. This app might SEEM free to download, but it's just a free trial. A 6 month subscription was $15 for me. I'm giving it 3 stars because the app works and does what it says it does, but it's not worth paying for. There's nothing innovative or spectacular about it, it's just "meh". A professor/teacher could accomplish the same thing with a different, and free, app or site

Nearly every time I've used this app, I have connectivity issues, and it costs me points as I spend time trying to force stop the app in order to get it to work again instead of answering clicker questions. I've also had this experience with the browser version and the app at the same time. The only solutions I found was force stopping or reinstalling the app. If there is another way to get the app to work again that takes less time, I'd like to know. Edit: still having issues months later

Honestly this is a paid app with a ridiculous cost $15 for 6 months. When there are so many free options, such as: Kahoot, quizlet, quizzez, zoom polling, a Canvas quiz. Very poor app that feels like my $150 loose leaf textbook that is so thin it rips when you flip pages with it in a 3 ring binder, that wasn't included. If I could I would never use this app but I was forced to spend money to get a grade.

app is buggy as hell. i can't keep the phone screen on all the time, if it automatically shuts off after 2 minutes of being idle it ""has trouble reconnecting"" and i have to close the app and start it up again and rejoin the class, often leading to missing questions, and affecting my participation. also, paying for this is such a scam lol

I bought a remote in 2018 and registered it on the app the other day, but didn't get the five year subscription that was promised. I don't want to pay for something that I bought already, but I probably will be forced to do it.

It worked for my class, but there were a lot of times that after I turned my phone off and back on again that it would get stuck in the loading animation. I'd have to leave the class, close the app and get back in all over again multiple times throughout lectures.

Pretty easy to use. I had some issues connecting when I was expected to be answering questions. When attendance was taken and questions were answered on paper, my scores and attendance weren't listed in the app. It would be great if the instructor could add those manually. You can't submit the access code through the app. I forgot the email I registered using, so I was unable to register online either, since I forgot which email I had used. Tech support was pretty helpful with that problem.

literally the worst experience trying to get my remote to work with the app. also the no refund policy is stupid.

My entire class had perpetual issues with connection. Everybody lost points on quizzes from time to time because of connection issues. The professor said there is zero chance that he will ever be using iClicker again, but sadly that will bring back neither the points I lost nor the money I paid for a subscription. Also, I paid $15 for a 6 month subscription to an app I could have written myself in an hour. This company knows that the students who pay for their app have no choice.

Great Learning Tool! Great for my College Courses! I use it for quiz questions that are given throughout the lecture to test our understanding on the information given, and I'm happy to say that this app makes it much easier to practice, learn, and study material, as well as advancing the connection of understanding between student and professor! Great job!

Add Question Notification! A few times I will step out to use the restroom or get a drink of water and will miss a poll because there is no notification support for them. I think this is a useful and straightforward addition to the app.

I love this app. Its clean and simple and definitely put together well. Plus they made it free to help out students during the outbreak. Good people with a good idea and great follow through; cannot reccomend enough

This is yet another nearly useless overpriced college expense just to mark yourself for attendance and participate in class. This app is incredibly slow; half the time it doesn't even load the random problems profs decide to put out - just shows a loading icon then records as "no response", which negatively affects your grades directly. Somehow this app feels more archaic than just screaming out "here" or the answer.

Waste of money. Garbage freezes during class. Why the F do I have to pay for the anxiety enducing trash. Here's a great idea, let's test students during class while they are learning new material instead of actually teaching them. Great idea. I'm so glad my grade is decreasing because the app isn't working.

Frequent crashes, failure to connect, difficult to configure. Occasionally, the rendering is broken and the app is unusable on my device. all of this and I have to pay extra to use it in class. Disgusting, useless cash grab of a service. EDIT: THANK YOU, developer, for replying to my review of your application and not to the support request I already made over a month ago. And thank you again for only replying to my review AFTER THE SEMESTER ENDED.

Because this app had the date wrong (set one day behind the current day), it was effectively useless. Was required for attendance points in my chemistry class and I didn't get any credit because the app had the date wrong all semester. :/ (one extra star given because it's not the app's fault my teacher was too technologically illiterate to help with the technology he requires for class and too stubborn to acknowledge that I shouldn't lose points because of a legitimate technological error)

The app is fine. It works and does what it claims. But under no circumstances do I agree that the SUBSCRIPTION fee is anywhere close to worth the simplistic features of the app. I will discourage my professor from using this software in the future when other free similar options are available. I cannot believe that if I have another prof in the future who insists on using this app I will need to pay the fee again. There is nothing special about using this app that makes it worth the pricetag.

Ala. R. Apr 8, 2019

It's obnoxious one has to pay for use of the app, but compared to all of the other college items that just gut your pocketbook and make you cry, this one you just shake your head, as it is cheap. The app works well once you do pay for it, and seems solid, so I can't complain in that regard. Well built and works.

Kri. K. Mar 4, 2020

Crashes constantly. I can't make it through even 1 lecture without the app crashing at least 5+ times. Not an exaggeration. Incredibly frustrating and I'm disappointed I paid money for this.

Raz. H. F. Feb 14, 2020

While I do not support the entire motto of "pay to work" (especially in college), I will admit that the design of the app is sleek, efficient, and it works (very well). No bugs, glitches, or problems so far.
