Reicast - Dreamcast emulator

One of the best emulators ive played. I got to play my favourate dreamcast games on mobile and its very easy to use. But the controls dont usually function properly ,the analogue doesnt respond to most of the wanted directions it just spins in any direction even when you dont want it to and same thing goes with the rest of the controls so please fix this!

Terrible. Just. TERRIBLE. Past versions of this emulator work perfectly fine with my phone. But this current version doesn't work in the slightest. For example, Sonic Adventure. That game works really well with the older versions (it runs at full speed). But it won't boot with this current version! In fact, it wouldn't even start the control editor. I setup everything perfectly (since I've used past versions) and yet it STILL didn't work. I thought Emulator updates were supposed to FIX problems, not CREATE them. NOTE: Before anyone says that my phone is weak, bear in mind that my phone can do Saturn emulation at full speed.

It's a good emulator, does what it's suppose to, the reason for 4 star is because there is no options to lower quality or make it better, there just just no video settings is what I'm trying to say, I get a steady 30 FPS at all times, but sometimes I spike from 60 to 30 to 40 to 50 to 30... And also the frame counter is inaccurate, it doesn't update ... If you guys can come out with an update where I can change video settings to I don't spike as much, I'll change to 5 star..

I understand why so many people give this app a low rating....it's not "easy" to get working. However, one you get it working the performance is very impressive. If they could get the controller/interface bugs ironed out I would GLADLY give it a 5 star. I mean, when you think about it....it's Dreamcast on a phone! Plus, it's the ONLY DC emu. Plus, IT'S FREE! I guess it SHOULD get a 5, considering those points, but it' just so godam buggy. Can't wait to change my rating though. I'll keep an eye out for dem updates boi! Most importantly, THANKS REICAST DEVS!!!

Ok so I only installed this to play Shenmue. It works moderately well, with some minor glitches most of which is because my my device isn't up to date I think. My only problem is that when I connect it with a controller the joystick control isn't working. Which renders many game unplayable with a controller. My other biggest complain is that it doesn't have a save feature or if it does have it I couldn't find it.

Works great with the games that work with it. There are a few that don't seem to run, but being able to play most of the games from my favourite console on my phone is great. Not a huge fan of the new UI, nowhere near as intuitive as the previous one, but still plays brilliantly. Sadly the latest update has ruined everything. It's just crashes, won't let me chose any games, and just starts on a random game on launch. Hopefully this can be sorted soon.

It isn't a particularly easy emulator to get going, but once you do get it to go, it works like a charm. Games are emulated excellently. Tested SA2 and it was wonderful. Got all the way through the third level, Prison Lane with 0 issues. There is an issue with the emulator the instructions neglected to go over regarding the buttons. You have to find a button layout from the internet(super easy btw) and drop the image file into the reicast folder otherwise the buttons are invisible. Great overall

This emulator is great! I finally understood the instructions (really should work on those) and i was playing Jet Grind Radio and Rayman 2: the great escape with minor problems. One of them being that, in the last update, you changed how the lighting is proscessed, and it totaly ruins it. There are slowdowns everywhere and the games are freaking out when you walk into a shadow or to much comes on screen. You should add an option for prscessing power, if possible.Anyway, sorry for the long review

It's good I guess. I mean it works, just that it may need a few tweaks here and there. An option to disable the vibrate would be nice. Action replay (both the full and demo version) crashes after the DC logo, codebreaker doesn't work and some weird textures during the actual game emulation (i.e. the forest and the map going outside the border for PSOv2 etc). If possible maybe integrate the cheat engine inside the game as with other emulators. More control customization would be cool too.

I love this app. I don't really know what is Sega Dreamcast at first but this app let me play some awesome games from the console that once conpetes PS2. Since there's no stable emulator for PS2 so this one is a great alternative to that. But the problem is that this app can't emulate the titles made by SNK properly (the on screen controls isn't working properly). Please fix this. Thanks.

I have tried every new version of this emulator, hoping that they will fix all the bugs in it, but so far this app is useless. The virtual keyboard is invisible and no amount of tinkering with the settings will change that. I have almost every other emulator out there, including the PS1 & PS2 and they run just fine with on-screen virtual controls. I don't see why it is so difficult to fix this problem. All other emulators have virtual controls by default. Everyone complains about this

Unfortunately Reicast doesnt work anymore on the Nvidia Shield portable so if you're using one, you are gonna have to pass on this one. When the emulator did work, it worked pretty good. Just rather unfortunate for me that once the emulator released it had never gotten an update after that, and once it did years later, it stopped working on my main device.

I have to clear game data and then erase the memory file from the BIOS every time I switch games (or the app restarts) if I want to use the memory card slot(s). Games like S.A2 will run without the memory card so that's fine (but only the first time. If you go back to it, it will say you don't have a memory card and basically soft lock.) but games like Marvel vs Capcom 2 need the memory card from the beginnig or it won't move from the start up screen that says it is missing.

I have found a bug that makes this unplayable. I started a game (Sonic Adventure 2) and I couldn't see any of my onscreen buttons. It worked, as in I could still press them, just couldn't see them. I checked the settings to see that I had no selectable on-screen button themes. I checked my Android System folder and there was no reicast folder whatsoever. As soon as you fix this, I shall update my rating accordingly.

They just make it worse every time. Every time I reinstall this emulator it looks completely different and gets less straight forward to set up each and every time. I'm sick of it. They need to stop redesigning this app >:( It runs games well though so if you don't care about the nightmarish set up then get it. If you want to play up dreamcast games quickly and simply then find something else

I revised my old comment. Overall the app is great & it's the best Dreamcast emulator on the market and the Devs really care about the public and openly reply back to concerns. I give it 5/5! Edit: New bug. After using the Save State feature up to four times or more the games begin to glitch and frame rate drops to insane levels and become unplayable.

Used to be a great emulator. But with a recent update the UI completely changed for the worse. It seems like the UI want even made for a mobile device and is some poor port of the PC version. Also the virtual gamepad that used to work fine is now invisible and I can't make it visible again; thus making this emulator useless on a mobile device.

Great emulator, but the latest version completely broke it. Before, I loved playing games like Sonic Adventure on it, but now, I can't even get past the initial set up because it's completely mangled. You can even manually type in the directories or even follow the user guide on their website & it just keeps asking for you to set a home folder no matter how many times you set said directories. One star until its fixed, but it was definitely worth five stars in previous versions.

Menu section is bad, missing virtual buttons, frame drops when you select fps on screen and horizontal stretch as well. Also, it won't save your settings on the main menu on reicast section. If you leave it by the default, It does runs 60 frames per second. In other words, don't touch the default settings of reicast menu.

Like all emulators there are some (a silver) games that force close at a certain point in game/random or not work at all. But don't get deterred by that as there are tons of games that run fine. The menu is simple enough to navigate and setting up the bio took a good min (<30 sec) if you know what to do along with setting up where to add them and the roms (google is your friend).

while I do appreciate the effort the Android port has gotten over the past few years (particularly the integrated ime), it's still not on par with even the linux port. multicore is broken on anything but whatewer they must be developing on. the physics floating point crunching on the dynamic recompiler breaks sonic adventure the second you get to an angled spring, or THE SEWER. Most importantly, it doesn't exit cleanly with no reset button in sight so get ready to set time date & framerate alot

This Dreamcast emulator is great! It takes me back alot. The only complain I can give it though is when I'm playing some games where it plays any cutscenes the audio mostly keeps making a lot of cracking sounds other then that it's still very playable with many games I have overall minus some graphical glitches if anyone is having screen glitch problem with RE Code Veronica in the submarine just use the map to navigate where your players heading to get to the door to the next room hope it helps.

The BIOS + ROM setup is nightmarishly convoluted and specific. The menus get easier to navigate after a while but are still very bad to navigate/aren't intuitive. The virtual gamepad is tiny and there is no way to up the button scaling. The audio is decent but there are many graphical issues. I would have given one star if not for the fact that it technically works at the end of the day.

HEY developer, will there ever be a fix for L2/R2 on HiD controllers? Also beta still crashes on Moto E4 (7.1.1) (if the app isn't working right try deleting the cache/data and restart, trust me when it works it WORKS) It's a bit complicated to set up, however it's SO worth it. I have Sonic Adventure 2 running at 60fps widescreen HD on my Moto E4, occasional sound issues but nothing that ruins the experience! Two player however gets screwed up when using two controllers.

This emulator is pretty good, but it has some bugs that affect my experience. # If I pause too much the emulation by bringing up the menu (the one with save states options, swap disc, etc), the app starts to get really slow, so i have to close and open it again to fix it. # If I load up a game, exit the game and load another one or try to enter the bios, the app freezes. It fixes by closing and opening it again. # with the .04 update, the vmu icon is glitchy (it didn't happen before that)

Nice update. Somewhat buggy and confusing but otherwise it is good so far. Kudos to the developer for adding support for NBA 2K2. Please, please, pretty please fix the NFL 2K2 support. That particular rom does not load. Controller settings need to be reset each time and instructions for set-up aren't quite clear but I figured it out. Looking forward to future development. Also, there is inconsistency. Works on Samsung but not Motorola. Won't load bios.
