You can transfer music files from your Mac/Windows to this App to prepare for your DJ performance such as creating playlists, setting cue points, and so on.
Changes and settings that have been made on your Android device can be written back to rekordbox on your Mac/Windows for further editing and playback.
You can also play music files in the Android version of rekordbox with Pioneer DJ products that support this App.(currently CDJ-2000NXS2, CDJ-2000NXS, CDJ-900NXS, XDJ-1000, XDJ-RX and XDJ-AERO are supported.)

This used to work well with Rekordbox 5 on Windows 10 to import my playlists and add cue points etc on the go. Since "upgrading" to rekordbox 6 and updating the android app I can't transfer music through Rekordbox for Windows and the android app crashes every time I try and import music directly from my phone. Poor excuse that it is too complicated to develop the app for android - other companies manage it with no problem.
An unfortunately heavy user of this app. Excruciatingly clunky and the importing/exporting is a weekend long endeavor. 200GB library, all AIFF. Really needs to sync with my PC like the iOS version. Total BS they claim just because the app is free it shouldn't need to be updated to work with the latest hardware. Shame on Pioneer...now back to using this POS app.
Pioneer needs to add the same functionality to the Android app that you get on even old versions of iOS! I don't want to fill my tablet or cellphone memory with music to spin tunes, I just want to be able to use it to connect my Android tablet/cellphone and browse easier through my USB Rekordbox playlists like you can on Apple devices... I was really disappointed Poineer doesn't have the same features on the Android app as they do on Apple...
This app worked great for like a week then suddenly gives me the "error when transferring" message when I try and sync from my computer. Now it's useless, so frustrating. Spent a few days troubleshooting, clearing cache, reinstalling, checking my wifi and computer but came up with no resolution.
Hasn't been updated in over a year with known bugs that cause both instability in the app as well as not being able to access the SD cards. Now I can't even connect to rekordbox. Come on pioneer, get with it.
why can't I find a 2 player mode? This is key to sorting and and arranging tracklists. I see that it's an in app purchase (which is silly) but I still can't find it. 2 player mode is a must. If not available for Android then very poor form on Pioneer's behalf.
absolutely terrible app for the Android. it doesn't even fill my whole screen and it's really hard to navigate and work with. Pioneer you need to step up your game and fix this app. stop putting all your focus on the Apple products when you have so many Android users
Dear pioneer rekordbox developers Guys come on how can you miss the export function on your app. When you are allowing user to prepare why not a export function. Most of us use OTG Cable Which Allows Us To Connect A USB PenDrive To Our Mobile Phone. Which is very useful to transfer the data directly to usb or mobile. You guys should really Upgrade the app and add Export mode. And it should work the same way the computer rekordbox version works. Hope you will look into my suggestion
this would be a really useful tool but profesional Djs will always need to things. 1. the ability to use our biggest storage(external sd in this case) 2. the ability to play 2 decks at the same time so we can prepare better matches for shows. Give us those 2 things and you will have one of the most useful app for professionals ever!!!
This app is useless on Android. I use standard MP3s and I tried and tried to upload and the app crashes every time, whether I try to do one song or my whole list. I was trying to find a good app/controller combination but it looks like this one takes the pioneer DDJ 400 off my list if I cant use my android.
useless app. Thought i could easily organise existing playlists on my phone in play music. but you have to create playlists by searching every individual song? why not show playlists or even folders on the phone ? awful app
This app hasn't been updated in almost a year, forgotten by pioneer. Pops a warning that it was designed for an older version of android and may not work right when you open it.
I've used multiple devices with all of them failing to connect to my pc. I love the Rekordbox software for the PC, so I gotta say I was pretty damn disappointed with this app.
As an update from my last post, the new version doesnt seem to be a full image of the app but instead a zoomed top-left hand corner of the home page with no ability to swipe up, down, left or right.
Runs horrible on the latest Android version. Apart from the annoying outdated notification from Android itself, the interface is stuttering all over the place.
Pioneer put no effort into this app. App doesn't work on any phone I've had. I don't know how they've kept it up on the Google Store. They're pretty much lying when they say their apps are on iOS and Android.
Unresponsive after recent update, keeps crashing or need to force close app. Uninstalled and reinstalled, no difference. Expected far better from Pioneer 😕🤷♂️
Still waiting for an update (on a Pixel 3 XL). Recently after (re)installing, I tried to use the rudimentaey features of the android app, and not even these functions work now (opposed to a year ago when I uninstalled). Yet another dissapointment from Pioneer DJ. I had two cdj-2000nxs2 but sold them. I have a djm-900nxs2, two xdj-mk2s, a ddj-xp1, a djs-1000, the recorder program, and a xdj-rx2, and rekordbox controller vinyl. But I'm about to sell off more...just throw us a bone.
What you need to do - Add USB support over OTG adapter, so Memory points, cues and playlists can be set or edited on a pre existing USB. Then when the usb is connected to RB, the data is uploaded, the same way as it would had the cues been done on a pioneer device, sometimes I want to edit cues or a playlist on my USB device when I get an idea away from home, and this would be ideal.
