Update: Customer service is amazing and quick to respond and fix problems in the software. Hopeful this device/app works. I cannot get this app or the device to work properly for any length of time (and I have done all the trouble shooting suggested). The device continually does not send notifications to my phone when attempting to talk, and the app continually wants me to activate the device although it's already activated. Or the device isn't on the server.

Installed latest update , now app fails to load and crashes instantly on startup. Cant access relays at all. *Edit* Quick response from them and they were very understanding and working on a patch for the current update issues. The relay has its quirks but so far each issue i have had they have been quick to get back and work on a sution. Great support team.

Great service and the last round of improvements make it seem it's finally arriving. It does take some work to train kids under 6 to use it, but the older ones catch on pretty quickly. One feature I would like is being able to set a special notification tone for the app to help distinguish it from the normal noise.

I love this concept, if it would work 100%, it would be a great app, the app needs more work it's very buggy. And the actual relay itself, it keeps on getting disconnected I have the relay for week and I needed to restart it, or reboot it at least once a day so hopefully they're going to make new updates in the future and it's going to be better. so for now I am giving 2 stars sorry!

It is fine for communicating with my child. However, it would be nice to have a custom option for volume and tone. It is easy to miss a call from my child. Also, the GPS is not very accurate. Right now the device is in our house, but the device is registering as across the street, even including the circle of error. And, the GPS does not seem to update with any regularity.

You have to enter billing information to see how the app even works. It would be nice to have a free app I could explore to see if the product was worth purchasing. The product cost $50 and runs primary on this app. If I could see how well the app is designed it might sell me on the product and the service. I've had Republic Wireless and while it is cheap and good network, the customer service was lacking.

I'm getting really irritated with this. The device is great! When it's working correctly. Right now the app simply refuses to work on my phone, even with the uninstall and reinstall dance. Constantly we are having connectivity issues, and will sometimes be unable to locate my niece or hear her messages.

It was great but ever since I got an update I've had issues. I'm done with relay. Another update more problems. Why must I enter my password EVERY time I use the app?

This app could easily have 5 stars but it is lacking, in my opinion, the most important feature--the ability to hear your child when the app is idle. I've missed SO many messages from my kid because unless the app is opened it only sends a notification that I missed a message. This makes the app virtually unusable. Relay should learn from Zello and allow voice to come through when the app is idle. Unless this feature is added I'll be getting rid of the Relay.

Loved this app and relay that my child had...UNTIL the update. App layout is confusing and hard to navigate. I miss the easy communication button, quick geofencing check and the ring/locate button for a quick check in with my child. Please either revert back to the old app or update it again to something similar...this honestly makes it almost not worth the hassle.

It's... Ok. The battery life is lacking, though better after excellent support assisted me. I always miss the notifications from the app when my kids talk to me. It needs more notification functionality. Custom notifications. Light up my phone when I get a message, etc.

I love relay I use it for my daughter and I to keep in contact especially when she is getting home from school and getting off the bus I know where she is at all times because of the locator the GPS but the signal is kind of iffy in certain States and certain areas but the communication line you set up, when you're speaking is usually very clear! 😉❤

Great idea. Loses a star because the app only allows 60 seconds of background listening. Should be able to set into background until i turn it off. Ask for an AT&T sim if republic coverage is terrible where you live.

I love getting voice messages from my boy, very cute. You don't get that with cell phone since kids text. Mon son is 11 years and loves it. He likes the walkie-talkie style, the daily jokes and he has his music. I can locate him and talk to him (and i got his cute messages). Excellent alternative to cell phones - I wish i had that for my daughter. But please give us the option to change this robotic voice. Still a ***** without any hesitation.

So far, we're happy with the apps ability to communicate with the Relay devices we purchased but, the app features are lacking. Customized notifications would be a nice feature as well as the ability to map a physical ptt button or quick commands.

Easy to set up and fairly easy to move around, but the app is not notifying me when the relay sends me a message. Kinda frustrating especially when you need to know when your child is trying to message you.
