Remote Android TV

I think that the app works well, I like the available features and lack of ads. I have seen reviews that say the remote doesn't work, and while that is true, it is not due to the app. The problem is due to an update to the Android TV Remote partner app that is preinstalled on every Android TV (Mine is a Blaupunkt TV). You need to uninstall updates by going to settings, then apps, and finding the Android TV Remote app there. A faulty update caused problems with app functions. Thanks.

MiBox: It works as expected with extra buttom for volume and power. However there are two issues 1. D pad buttons are very small as compared to default Android Tv Remote. Please make it bigger. 2. Remote gets disconnected if phone is idle for few seconds. Even if wifi is always on and screen timeout set to minutes. It gets connected again in few seconds but sometimes it lost the cinnection. Default Android Tv Remote app stay connected. Request to developers to fix these two issues.

You must click for the cursor to appear where it's supposed to be when typing the pair code. This is an okay remote app, but otherwise it's still buggy. You can't long-press the OK button when in touchpad mode. The app list doesn't work, it always resets and doesn't sync with the TV whatsoever. The apps and TV channels are in French and you can't change it.

Works better than google's tv remote app, has power button, volume control etc. However i don't want features like built in youtube, tv guide, tv channels, tv recommendations, i already have YouTube on my phone and tv, please provide 'only remote' option in settings which turns off everything else except the remote. Also the wheel keeps spinning if i go into applications tab, and there are no apps listed, i think its trying to update apps list from tv but its taking wayyy too long

Great phone Android TV remote on my older phone.. Record button.keyboard.mic vol power. Happy that unwanted Green border and screen google text reading was fixed by pressing vo+&vol- together for 3 seconds. Message poped up on tv and everything was back to normal. Its part of accessibility and I found cure for android phones work on tv using this app. tap curser in front of where you want to type if code gets out of order when connecting/pairing app with code on tv screen.

Is it possible to implement an easier way to switch between devices? Now I have to slide the side menu, connections, disconnect, chose the other device. I have multiple Android TV devices at home, and your remote app is the only one that features volume control.

Connection to Skyworth TV was temperamental, and it doesn't seem like the helper installed on the TV is working, as I can't see any of the apps in the remote, and an install helper dialog keeps popping up. Giving it 4stars as it's way way cleaner than most remote apps out there, and has some much needed features the standard android tv remote lacks.

It won't work with my gear "Google Chromecast with google tv". Instead, it just showed the message "No Android Tv found on the network. I did try the app on three different Android mobile under the same network, but same result. Can anyone help ? thanks !!

Hi Technical team, its awesome application.. but please resolve this issue. If we not using app for few minutes mobile display turned off. I mean it took device screen saver settings. Hope you know VLC and other media player, it won't took mobile screen saver settings. Thats over ride device settings. like wise you people should modify this app. For this one app user couldn't change their mobile screen turned off time for long time. hope you understand

Works well when it eventually discovers and connects. Often requires a few retries, but that may be due to home network shortcomings. The layout and inagery is consistent with my physical remote, which I like but I am surprised to find there is no Mute key available :/

My "Chromecast with Google TV" device is on a network that doesn't broadcast its ssid, and the app couldn't find it. I looked under 'connections' in the 'settings' menu, but there are no options for setting any network parms. The "androidtv.bytel.tv" link didn't yield any useful info. Uni nstalled, and moving on.

Well done guys...Best android tv remote...I just follow the steps and uninstall the Android remote service (you can find in settings/Apps/see all apps/show system apps/android tv remote service) in my Mi Box and worked P.S. don't forget to restart the Android Tv Box and reconnect with the app. Enjoy!!!

Sometimes it disconnects but a quick restart of the app fixes that. Definitely saved me when my Chromecast tv remote stopped working randomly. Allowed me to factory reset the remote (take batteries out, hold home and reinsert batteries, let go of home when the light pulses) and pair it to the Chromecast TV to get it working again.

I have a problem with this app, Whenever some error popup displays on the screen it remains there until I restart the app again(I am sending the screenshot of the app on your emai id, If the creator is seeing this review) and also please change the position of back button, I always press back button instead of volume up which is very annoying. Hope you solve these problems as soon as possible.

I used this app for about 2 months so I wouldnt have to keep changing batteries in my chromecast renote. As of today when I went to use my chromecast, this app no longer works. I see "No Android TV found on this network " & a the link of compatible devices shown on the screen does not work.

The app was working perfectly for 12 month, yesterday it stopped working. Unfortunately I uninstalled the app cause it wasn't working. I thought I'd just download it again and it would work. But NO it doesn't work at all. Does anyone know of an app that will work!!!!

Simple and great no ads. That's a big bonus. Please try to add a mute button. That will make this perfect and I will even be willing to pay for this app as a paid version. Very handy. Edit:- Add the mute button if possible. It really makes this the best app out of all of them. No ads and perfect. Just perfect.

Works great, more features than Google's app. It was a touch tricky to pair with TV, as the TV must be active (not in screensaver mode) to display the pairing code. Regardless, 5 stars for being compatible with my chromebook!

If the app doesn't list any Android TV's, read on to fix. On my Android TV, I went to settings. Then I had to go to "Android TV remote service" in SystemApps and click "uninstall updates" . I say this because several people are leaving bad reviews which is actually showing how ignorant you are. This is THE BEST app, better than Google's own Android TV remote.

Been using this for controlling my shield for a few years now. Worked great until last Sunday when I used it to turn on my TV everything Worked except for the volume part. Just stopped working all together. No more volume control.

Installed in first time and worked perfectly. Few days later it failed to connect. Read the reviews in particular from Robert Sumner, he said to uninstall the Android TV Remote Services ( under system apps on your Android TV). Then it worked like a charm.

I just found this app after uninstalling Google Android TV app. This app has all of the needed buttons, unlike the lame Google one. I don't know why the other one has 3.4 star (as of this writing) and this app has only 3.6 while it is totally better in every way. Now I don't have to search for the remote no more!

So far so good, connected to my Android TV in a second. Best part is it has a power on off button. This is absent in the official Google Android remote. Nice experience. Thanks.

Regular android tv remote app does not have volume control, ON / OFF buttons, just then navigation buttons. Have been searching for an app that works with Marq TV, finally found this app. Has all buttons that I need.

Good app, some bugs. Needs a shortcut to Netflix YouTube etc in remote. The applications section is buggy (keeps asking me to install the server which is already installed) and adding apps doesn't work.

Love it. Power button works on TV. Also has volume control, which tops out at whatever volume setting TV is on. Pretty much everything that physical remote can do, this does. Even the record button works with my Plex DVR. 5 + Stars

Unable to report the ssid it is connected to, does not find the android tv and the link provided for the list of compatible TVs is not reachable. Totally useless app.
