if you choose an artist, the songs dont show up, its just blank on every artist, no songs. but the app still allows you to play said artists songs through different avenues. refund please. too bad though. i need this!

This app works better than Apples app on iOS. Enough said. It automatically connects which is awesome, no waiting for it to connect then going through all the menus. It's been a pleasure to use this app

Does what its supposed to do. I've been using it for years. Haven't had an apple device since the iPod touch so I can't tell you what it doesn't do compared to newer iterations of the iphone remote app, but this app has all the features.

Used to be perfect but doesn't work with macOS Catalina anymore, it's not able to control the new Music app.

Are you able to have a notification and ability to turn off on phone/tablet lock screen without having to unlock device, choose application and pause in app?

A bit finicky in set up (my router settings needed multicast ). Works great now!

This is a great app. Really like the way it stays well connected to iTunes. On iPhones using the apple remote, Everytime you open the app the thing has to reconnect. With this app it just seems to be connected the second you open it. Recently though, I am not able to browse my media properly. When I click on an artist or album, it thinks for a second and then just displays all the song in my library. Disappointingly the app is kind of not functional like this. I'm hoping the developers are reading.

The latest app version works great for controlling Airplay throughout my house. I just got a new phone after being stuck on Android 2.3 for three years so the app hadn't been updated in some time. I was surprised to find that in the latest version the developer added a feature I requested; a setting to pause music when a phone call is received. It's a great feature for those of us who like to push the volume to "11" when at home.

I bought a Sony str-dn840 home theater amp that has WiFi and airplay built in. This app is simply awesome gives you a graphical interface via your tablet that you can feed your entire iTunes collection to your amp. Great for parties. And one last thing it's fast no lag from my tablet.

I had already given this app a 5 star review but had mentioned several shortcomings it had in regards to its behavior during browsing. All the issues I had with this app have been fixed with a recent update. It is now a really polished app that works great on my phone and tablet. It really utilizes well the screen real estate on my Nexus 7. If you are looking for a remote app to control your iTunes library from your android device, stop, you found it right here.

This app does a nice job for connecting to iTunes on the desktop. It seems to be somewhat buggy when controlling Apple TV though. In those cases, it can't read an artist's albums. So if you have six albums for the Beatles, say, Remote for iTunes will show them all as "Abbey Road." Pretty frustrating, because being able to control the music library on my Apple TV is one of the things I bought this for. Bugs aside, though, I'd like to see a more prominent UI for selecting which device to control.

Works well, but it used to work better it seems. No longer does it instantly show up on my phone when iTunes is playing on my computer and half the time I have to re-type the activation code into youtube (on the same computer, on the same wifi) so the app can connect and act as a remote.

Worked fine up until the last week, it now will show EVERY ALBUM for every artist no matter what artist's name I click on. It won't play any song other than the first in any playlist, have tried deleting and re-installing, forgetting my library and making iTunes forget all remotes. Very unhappy.

This has been a fantastic iTunes remote for me for several years now. It was broken temporarily by Android 7 but Google reversed the problem in 7.1 (it's really apples problem). The only issue I have is the three dot menu item for each album or artist etc lines up exactly with the vertical scroll best and so you can't use the menus. It just jumps to some other point in the last.

Used to be great but now still refuses to connect even after rebooting pc, phone and wifi router as per help. Gives the code on phone but now there seems to be nowhere on iTunes to enter the code!!! Help was useless. Finally gave up and downloaded RETUNE which has more useful instructions on how to connect to iTunes latest version. Otherwise a good app once you figure out how to connect it via the *really obscure button* on top left of iTunes!

Like all the remotes I've found for iTunes on Android this one seems to forget that you can watch Video on iTunes/Apple TV. Seems like a pretty basic oversight and I can't understand why this seems to be a common theme. Also doesn't seem to be able to deal with non-ascii character sets. All my Genres and Playlists seem to have a lot of random characters in them Very dissapointed.

T.J. W. Dec 23, 2013

It just mixes up the play order of some playlists. If there was an update that fixed that, this review would be five stars. *Update* I've been informed that this is not a problem with the remote, so I've just created a non-smart playlist for the problems I've had.

Update: I just had to update my comment after noticing the latest updates. I have to admit my main use of this app is for the widget on the home screen, so I rarely actually open the app. But I just happened to today and was pleasantly surprised by all the new features. Lots of cool new controls and the interface improvements are great! Also love the ability to auto pause when the phone rings :) Still the best paid app I own.

Ben. W. Nov 23, 2013

Please add ability to rate music directly from widget. Also would be great if app would open directly tomusic player once app is running after tabbing from another app. Finally have to skip and hit play to advance to next song when rating songs in the unrated playlist. Otherwise will switch to another playlist. Please fix!

For example, try scrolling to an album on the Albums tab. Now try pressing the menu for an album in the list. The stroller responds, taking you to another part of the list. I've verified this on two devices with different Android versions. There's more bugs like this. It used to be a great program.
