Buttons don't work a lot of the time and it doesnt control volume or power but it's the only app I could find that worked for my sony bluray player. Think the price should be a one time fee of $5.99 or less not $9.99 a year. It really isnt reliable. It's definitely no where near as good as a regular remote but great to have a second option when I cant find my regular remote which is a lot of the time. Glad this app exists!
Free trial worked great, had my BluRay player programmed and setup. Subscribed since I was having issues finding the correct replacement remote, was unable to even find my device let alone control it after I paid the subscription. In my opinion you're better off just getting a replacement remote for roughly the same price as the app subscription.
works fairly well. better than some of the other sony remote apps. if you have your blu ray player on, it automatically detects and loads a remote image that works for your device. really quick and easy to use. i do wish they had the statement that this is a 7 day trial in a more prominent place. i was so desperate to find an working Sony app that i wasn't reading through much past the app permission requirements. i had tried 7 or 8 apps by the time i found this one.
It tried connecting to my Hue hub immediately and I don't want to connect my hub, ever. The app did not work beyond counting down from 30 into negative numbers. I gave up and uninstalled it, what a piece of garbage. I wanted a remote for my sony bluray player, that's it. I should not be forced into using this app with my other devices and be able to opt out of anything I don't want the app to control.
I have downloaded several different apps trying to get one that would work for my Sony Blu-ray DVD player I lost the remote and I have not been able to play anything for the kids after many downloads this was the only app that works for the Sony Blu-ray DVD player!! it worked instantly and I did not have to put in any serial numbers or anything it just instantly worked I am so relieved!! Thank you!
All functions work with my BluRay UBPX700 player (Remote start has to be enabled in the BluRay player settings for the power button to work properly). This app makes an excellent remote replacement that is easy to use.
Such a relief to have a remote for our machine again. I'd tried several regular universal remotes but they wouldn't connect. This app connected easily & is easy to use! Thank you!!
Switching it down to one star. I would have been willing to pay a dollar or two for a one-time payment. But considering I can actually buy a replacement remote off of eBay for $2 less than this author is asking me to pay every single year, under the nonsense idea that just because this software is capable of controlling thousands of devices, I really could care less because I don't have thousands of devices I have one device I am trying to control. And if this didn't even do a very good job.
Only app that works with my blu ray player but I won't pay for it. So I'll just keep getting up to use the buttons. Pocketwood: no need for the snark. It's very unprofessional. Those values are important, however not important enough for me to pay for it. I like the app, but don't want to pay for it. Maybe you should take your earnings from selling this app and go get some customer service lessons. It might help. down rated you for your lack of tact.
This one was the first app that managed to operate my Sony STR-DH750. Sure, it could use some updates to support more modern resolutions, but other than that, no problem. All buttons are there and are working properly. First profile, first try. Respect.
The app was working just fine. Issue is for a very simple app that is not flashy at all it was only a 7day free trial and then I would have to pay 9$ annually to continue to use a simple remote app! What a rip off!
The best Remote application. I have all of my equipment in another room. This application runs everything off of my Wi-Fi perfectly. I had some problems operating my sound system. The tech support fix the application for me. Great technical support
I was thrilled I could use my Sony blu-ray again and watch Netflix. The only problem was the controls wouldn't work. No up or down, no way to choose what I wanted to watch. I was so ready to give a five star review too.
this is amazing! my Blu-ray is so old and I very skeptically downloaded this app. but about a second after I opened it, I was able start my movie. thank you so much for taking care of those of us that lose remotes!
Wish I could give it 5 negative stars. They want you pay after 7 days. Just needed the app for volume control on my Sony blu Ray home theater system. I'm just waiting for my replacement remote to arrive. I'd rather pay for a remote than this silly app. Screw this!
I loved the app right up until it required payment to continue using (surprise surprise nowhere was it said this was anything other than a fee application at the time of download) Ironically, the price of this application is exactly what the price of a new Sony blu ray remote in on Amazon! So, I recommend ordering a new remote from Amazon at the time of installation, hopefully the remote will come before the "trial period" is over
Cost the same as purchasing a replacement remote at walmart. Replacement also available on Ebay and Amazon. It is too bad because it worked for the device and would have considered purchasing for maybe 2 dollars.
I tried 11 Other apps for Sony Blu Ray dvd player and none of them worked with out having to buy something or down loading another app. My phones not fancy it doesn't have IR.... I'm very happy I tried just one more, bc this one is great. I didn't need codes or anything other then to down load and it was ready to go!!!
Downloaded and installed. Works the Sky HD box but not my Sony Blu-ray. Finally got the Blu-ray connected (wouldn't work via ethernet so had to order WiFi dongle for it) and now the trial has ended so still no idea if it will work... Not paying £6 a year if it might not work!
my daughter decided to hide the netflix remote for my sony blue ray player, and I tried like 10 other remote apps and this is the only one that worked!!! it connect all by itself! I highly recommend!!!!
The remote connects to my ps5 but then immediately disconnects and reconnects and repeats that process, will give this app 5 stars if you can make it work on my ps5 something iv been wanting for a long time
Lost the remote to the Blu-ray in the kids room. I've spent months trying to find it or find an app to use on my phone to control the TV. This is the ONLY one that finally worked!! Yay!!! 😍😍
I lost my remote, downloaded this app, and now my Blu-ray doesn't work for some reason...everything was fine until it started to scan for the device...
Uses IR only. Tried it with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and it failed on every try.
Worked great for the first use. After that, it wouldn't control my device at all and kept connecting to a device I didn't want it to connect to. Do not recommend
When it actually connects it works great. But 80% of the time it doesnt connect. Fix the issue and I'll change my recommendation
I really love this app. Its 100% on point with my blueray player and my TV. I've never had any bad experiences with this app. like have experienced with many others. But! Unfortunately after a while (I'm guessing after my Free Trial) it's asking for a payment and not just a one time payment, its asking for a payment every month. I don't see how paying every month is necessary. So I give 3 stars because of the inconvenience of being cut off after making a payment.
