Notify over Cell network DOES NOT WORK. I am 110% sure I have port 10600 forwarded in my DD-WRT based router, I am 110% sure I have the correct IP address (external), but it just simply DOES NOT WORK over Cell Network with IP Address. The only option that works is broadcast over Wifi.
intermittent notifications on sms so back to 3.... uninstalled 3rd party sms app and restored defaults of native msg app and now works great so updated to 5 stars :-) #Nice idea- but doesn't notify on SMS (GS2). as this is my main method of communicating other than IM I can't rightly give more than 3 stars as that was really the only reason I wanted it :-/
The most common issue I've seen reported by others is the same issue I've been experiencing -- after a while it stops sending out notifications, even though it is still running as a service, until you re-open the app again. It's fun to play with but I'm not able to rely on it at all. :-(
The app is the best Desktop notifier for Android at the moment. My favorite feature is the auto-Wifi switching. I don't like to keep my WiFi on (I don't like battery drain). When a notification is to be sent, this app automatically switches on WiFi for a second, sends the notification to desktop, and switches off the WiFi immediately! Just AWESOME! I just love the automation! Wish more apps do like this instead of wanting a continuous WiFi connection.
had some issues with intermittent notifications too, but i fixed that by using Blue tooth autoconnect app to run the notifier every time a call comes in. So if you use a bluetooth headset with this app, you can get it to function pretty good. Using the copy to clipboard functions makes my day and keeps me from typing in bad phone numbers in my CRM
Great idea, but couldn't get it to connect on any of my pcs, WiFi nor Bluetooth. Will try again when I have more time to mess about with it.
Works well for some time and then suddenly stops working, without any warning or notification. Unreliable and can cause lot of inconvenience.
Works incredibly well, great for leaving phone in pocket during class. If I could respond to sms from growl to droid that would be divine
I miss phone calls because I naively hope the app would alert me. i'm quite tired of it already. I tested it on wifi and bluetooth. no luck. my system is windows7 x64, using growl.
Desktop client wont work on win7 64bit. Project page says it has been merged with Mac page, but has no windows files.
Also finding that this app stops working after a while. Shame, as it would be super useful. Please fix. Would pay.
Never had a problem with it, works great with tasker. Only thing missing is to be able to send notifications via the usb cable
steady pace of development, does what it's suposed to though a bit buggy at times. however it's a fantastic concept, use it all the time
As much as I try to tweak the setting I cannot get it to work. I've tried everything I could think of or find on the internet. Using MacBook Pro and HTC Sensation.
Excellent app, works great on winxp + growl and with ubuntu. Would love to see extra tasker features to control hosts to notify
Very nice and promising app. But a little problem that I encounter. No notification on SMS but the CALL notify me. Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Nexus One with custom ICS ROM Thanks
Great way to keep up with my phone when I'm on my computer. Doesn't always work but when it does it's awesome
Useless. Can't even deliver test notification. Am experienced with OSI network layers, app isn't even sending packets.
if its working and stops after awhile, check your background data settings. usually cuts off app data after 15 or 30 min. figured that out. works now
Looks like it has potential but I'm not able to get any further than a test ping. Using a Actiontec modem/router.
Actually a great app, but only works directly after a fresh install of the desktop client. Apparently, this issue is specific to Win 7 & the Galaxy S
Very nice app. Only 4 stars because bluetooth doesn't work on Samsung Galaxy S. Would be nice to have notifications via the Gmail account.
Clean interface with all that you need. Pretty useful if you leave your phone aside and start using your computer.
Awesome App! A shame the pop-ups don't appear whilst running programs in full screen. Desire 2.2 + Win7
I don't think it always works but when it does it's excellent. Worth it for wifi pref alone
Runs on reboot even if unselected. Sends ping & battery notifications fine but nothing else like email, sms etc. Will reinstall when consistent. Evo
Great app, compatible with older Android versions (Gingerbread), but the desktop aplication needs some updating to be compatible with newer notification systems such as Unity for Ubuntu.
Very promising application if we could get more notifications from more application like Growl has on OSX. On my Nexus S, when I get a call I do not see an notification, neither voice-mail, so it's a big down. SMS works. Google Apps Email do not work. So again, the platform works, but it's real value is limited due to the fact not a lot of apps support it. - tested on Nexus S with Cyanomodgen 7.
