Remote Viewfinder

I like this app because it gives me a better post-snap photo preview than compared to the stock NX1000 view finder. Other than that, it doesn't do much. If the app allowed changes to aperture and shutter settings, as well as zoom capability, it would be - from what I hear - on par with other apps offered by Canon and Sony. An upgrade would be appreciated.

I installed this app on my Google Nexus tablet. It takes a bit of practice to get the tablet to transfer to the camera Wi-Fi signal when it is connected to a local Wi-Fi network but once connected it is great. For self portraits you just have to remember to look at the camera, not the tablet, when you take the photo.

Im using a Samsung galaxy nx dslr camera which runs android and im trying to use this app with my samsung galaxy note 3 and the app continues to says "waiting on camera to connect" and i have already connected the camera and phone via wifi and have done this 3-4 times or more. Even tried connecting them both bluetooth and rebooted the app. Complete waste of time

This and the few other versions of Samsungs Remote Viewfinder app does not work with any Galaxy Camera manufactured pre 2013. This is due to the lack of NFC tecnology. They do have a version specifically for Galaxy Cameras (an old version I suspect that used wifi/bluetooth) but it forces you to update to the latest versions requiring NFC tec. Kinda backwards if you ask me. Get the issue sorted and i'll give a higher rating

Was a great app, shouldn't be separate from the Samsung camera app but that's another story. Worked great doesn't work at all now. Says to download the new app. But that won't connect to my camera (nx300) Have updated all software on camera and still no luck. Was a useless but fun app before

I love my Samsung NX210 and having wifi capabilities is nice. The problem with the app is functionality, simply put it doesn't offer enough. The number one glaring issue is not be able to shoot in RAW mode. Number two, user controls. I want total control of the camera. Things like aperture, shutter, and ISO are really essential to good photography. Another desirable feature would be an intervalometer for time lapse shooting. Samsung could really stand out in this space by doing so. The app connects fine, it just lacks all the controls I want as a photographer. I am really hoping they work on this app.

I tried this app with Samsung's NX lenses and a full manual focus Canon lens on FD mount with an adapter. On the NX lenses, the camera goes full automatic according to the settings you setup before the shot. With the manual lens, you have to prefocus first, then use this app as the remote shutter release. I see it as very useful for those self-shots instead of using the timer shutter release. A wired shutter release is too cumbersome and a wireless remote is too expensive for such an inexpensive compact camera. It is also useful for new users who do not want to spend extra on Samsung's SR2NX02 remote shutter release. It fits very well into basic needs for the NX camera system where a remote is needed. I hope it improves to provide more functions.

I'm frankly livid, And displeased. Samsung is usually GREAT with product support in my opinion, but you've failed with this. NX1100 will not connect with it

The Galaxy Note 2 will not maintain the wireless connection to the camera. It shuts down the connection claiming the link speed is too slow. Solution =disconnect auto network switching in Advanced WIFI settings. Suddenly it works.

Please provide updates as this app keeps crashing when open on my phone (LG-P880 4X HD) "Sorry. Unfortunately, Smart Camera App has stopped" I am using NX1000 Camera.

So it ONLY works over wireless and I can't change ANY camera settings other than flash or timer? Why wouldn't it use bluetooth so people can use it wherever they want? Very nerfed and very disappointed. I was looking forward to this app and had I known it was so vanilla, I may have chosen a different camera. Please add better support, Samsung!

Requires you to download the Samsung smart camera app which doesn't allow you to control the camera. Just shared photos. Worthless.

Using to link an HTC phone to a WB850 the previous versions would only work after the phone was freshly rebooted, now the app fails to recognise the camera's WiFi even although it is possible to connect when outside the app, not Samsung's usual engineering standards here, must be outsourced! Update at the end of March resolved the connectivity issues such that I am happy to revise my views. Good to find a developer that reviews feedback and acts upon the comments

I can place my camera anywhere and then use my phone to take pics remotely!!!! It even zooms in and out! Took me a minute to figure this out and I did have to download the Smart Camera App,and once I went through and read everything slowly instead of jumping thinking I knew what I was doing ( I didn't ) it all came together and I couldn't be happier!!! Love all 3 of my Samsung items, Samsung Note 2014 Edition Tablet,Samsung Wi-Fi Camera which I LOVE! & my Samsung S4 phone!! All of them paired togther now!!

So i found out (not sure if for everyone) that the wifi auto switch cannot be on. Once i disabled the switch my phone connected seamlessly how it use to, hope this helps cuz samsungs reps i just dealt with had no clue.

Every time I try to connect my camera to my phone, it doesn't work. I get a message on my phones Wi-Fi saying the signal isn't good enough to connect.

Finaly figured out how to connect it then you can't change any settings that actualy matter including the focus point.

Useful only if you don't care about picture quality. This app should be able to control all camera functions in any operational mode. This is well expected for camera worth $700+. Samsung why don't you follow Google's steps and bring your apps in open source area?

I have a galaxy s III and my SH100 camera can't find the phone. What's the issue here

So after I spend 45 minutes in chat with a clueless Samsung tech support agent, he finally says this app won't work on non-Samsung products. Huh? It's a freaking Android app talking remotely to a Samsung Wi-Fi camera! It cannot be that hard to do. Seriously, all I wanted was a remote shutter release for my Samsung WB850F. My HTC Sensation 4G has all the features needed. The app loads but then never finds the camera even though the phone sees it and my network connects to the camera just fine. Samsung, if you really want to keep my business, you need to do better than this. I have a Samsung Tab 3 and Blu-Ray player but I keep finding so many little software issues with your products. It's driving me crazy.

So has a dedicated Samsung fan I already had a Galaxy S4. For Christmas I decided to splurge on myself. I bought The Note 10.1 and a Camera WB250F. Happy for my purchase of the camera I downloaded this app in time for Christmas pictures next week. Pre playing with my Phone and Camera I found out this app does not even work. So many apps downloaded because the camera said so and all I can do it basically share the photos between the 3 devices. So many dedicated buyers and so many bummed buyers. FIX THIS APP

Bought a WB850F camera made in 2012, last app update was in early 2013. Apparently Samsung thinks that their $500 camera will not be used for longer than a year.

Works well. At least in my house. A little glitchy tho. I will get back to you when I use my hot spot and try it outside.

I got a samsung wb380f smart camera for Xmas 2015. The settings are intangible using this app. It's intangible in the camera and the app. Truly dissatisfied.

I'm so disappointed. nothing other than basic functionality. Absolutely ridiculous. Does Samsung think we will be wowed by this nonsense. Regardless of how long ago the app was developed.

All I get anymore is camera not compatible I'm tired of all these updates that supposedly fix things and then they no longer work. Quit messing with it if it is working don't screw it up by trying to make it better
