I have been using this app for quite some time now. It is generally quite up to date. All of our DMR repeaters in OK are now BM and the app shows that. The only thing I really REALLY wish for is mapping, As I travel around I want to see about where the repeater is on a map. I also would like to be able to export the data to Chirp or link it to my ID-5100 over bluetooth. But of all of that the mapping is the one thing I want. If it had mapping I would give it the full 5 stars as it is otherwise quite good. Add mapping and I will give it the full 5... The page listing is quite good but there are many times I want to see it on a map... Please add the map,
I thought this was going to be a great app because I am legally blind and the font sizes we're large enough for me to see with the dark backgrounds and yellow text scheme. But I've realized after just getting my license that the search functions is not finding the frequencies even though they are listed in RepeaterBook. I hope this can be fixed and then I can change my rating. I don't know what's wrong but it won't find many frequencies I am searching for that are within a few miles with me.
Pro: The app work great with the Ft-857 and GPS of the smartphone & tablet, placing the closest repeater at the top of the list. Cons: The app does not give you the option to scan the local repeaters. This feature would be good for when HAMs are on long distance drives. This app gets 5 starts, and hopefully the option for a scan would be available for a soon to be released version.
It was far better before all the changes were made now its just confusing to new ham's because the pl tone receive and send frequency isn't listed. The format just isn't as good as it was. Why do people feel the need to change things just to change them? It doesn't even specify which is the receive frequency and which is the transmit frequency or what the PL tone is. This is very confusing. Also it doesn't show all of the repeaters in my area anymore.
I've been using Repeater Book for years, it's nice to be able to locate repeater information from my cell phone or tablet, computer and have up to date information.
Shame the Data is way out of date, I've got an NOV for MB6INW had it for the last 3 years and it's is still not list Unable to add entries or send feedback
This is a great App for Amature Radio operators looking for a repeater to utilize, especially when traveling to new areas. The App provides for user settings to customize important features. The App supports BlueCat. A great addition would be the ability to select multiple repeaters and then export a file for upload to the ADMS radio programming software.
Any Ham should have this great App, even if you don't travel. It will keep you updated on all of the repeaters available in your area. If you do travel, this App is invaluable. Just pull it up on your phone and you instantly have the frequencies of all repeaters wherever you're at. I cannot brag on this App enough, it should be included when you get your license. 73 de K4BCL.
Great for travel. I like sorting by cardinal heading so that it is easy to determine which repeater to tune next. Developers are super responsive. I mistakenly thought there was an issue with the filtering on the updated version and they took the time to help me out.
Great app, especially when I'm out and about with my Baofeng HT's or the FT-817ND! Use it a lot especially when in places of South Wales I'm unsure where the local repeaters are. it's very accessible to, especially as I'm registered severely sight impaired/blind. Great work guys, keep up the wor!
Nice reference, but the way the search results are displayed can be improved. If you do a search and then select one of the results, you can't go back to the results list. You have to redo the search. This is a bit of a hassle when doing searches by frequency. If not for that flower, I would give it five stars.
It had every thing I'll every need in a repeater book. Like QRZ of repeaters. BTW I stumbled into it. When searching for city DO NOT enter city,st enter. I gives No Results. Enter city, wait for screen to populate, scroll for the match notice the map pin icon, select.
It would be good if the labels for the repeater types were consistent. I'm particularly interested in Amateur TV repeaters but although it's selectable in the settings options, there aren't any labels showing ATV in the results.
👍 great app, I really wish all radios would pick up bluetooth connections to making loading data easier over USB. I would love to update configs using my cell phone, vs having to wait to connect to a pc. Thanks for all you guys do for the ham radio community.
If you want to look up a repeater or a group of repeaters for a state Repeater Book is the go to app to use. It will give you all kind of data, the repeater frequency, the off set settings, and all the extras you need to know and so much more!
A print, share or export option would be nice. Currently I have to take a screenshot and print it from another app but, because of the dark background, this method is very wasteful of black ink.
Great app i use it all the time. Like most people I would really appreciate a map feature. But as someone who tries not to use Google i understand avoiding them. But can't wait for a map feature.
Pretty good for on the go, only thing I'd change is the tone in/out, it just shows one tone and you don't know if it's both receive an transmit.. Which maybe I'm still to new and don't know something about it? Ok that makes sense, thank you for the info! Solid app!
It's a fantastically useful/handy reference and I recommend as the first thing you get after your $20 Chinese Dual Band. If you're lucky enough to be able to shell out for the BlueCAT adapter and have a compatible radio, it gets even better. It would be wonderful if the app, or at least CAT code, were open-source to be able to contribute new functionality and device support, but as it stands, the CAT functionality is only for the privileged.
