I've been with Republic since 2014. Last year after getting a new phone (Samsung A51) my service went down hill. I tried a new SIM card but that made it worse. I just learned to deal with it. Now, since the new update last week, I'm experiencing a new issues every day. It won't stay connected to WIFI. My data is almost gone a few days into the month! Texts won't go through often and new texts come in hours after all at once. Plus a lot if other weird annoying things! So frustrated.

11 year customer finally moving on after the disaster this service has become. The service has become more and more reliable over time, with issues getting in texts and missed calls due the my phone not even ringing when they come in and going straight to voice mail. Then recently they updated the app and switched to "Dish" and everything broke. It can't see the network towers where I live anymore, and it won't call or text over wifi anymore. I tried all the troubleshooting tips they suggested.

Been with Republic for 3 years. Service was good, but now horrible. I tried to buy some data, but I never got it despite paying. I tried opening a help ticket but no one replied to it. 12 hours later, still waiting. If I get an reply saying that it's due to a new network they switched to, I need to call their customer service, that will serve as proof that it's a bot response and not worth it. Edit: app won't change to reflect remaining data. Stays at a specific amount. Also all through App.

Been a customer for 5+ years and right in the middle of the day my app updated and would not allow calling or texts. I followed all instructions ( uninstalling app, restarting network settings/phone) and nothing worked. I try to go online and see they are now owned by dish. This has gone from a good deal to a complete pain. I'll be changing to something else.

I've been with republic since 2013. It used to be a good option but has going downhill over the past few years. Today I've decided to switch to a new carrier for numerous reasons the main ones being Wi-Fi calling no longer works. I've tried the troubleshooting options on their website and none have worked. During that process I found that I can no longer uninstall the Republic wireless app as it is now considered a system app even though this phone was not purchased from Republic.

Republic wireless is cheap, and you get what you pay for I guess. I've been with them for a few years now. A few months into switching to republic, my phone number changed overnight. Never figured out why that happened. Customer service is marginally helpful sometimes. I've been without text and calling capabilities since the new update. Suddenly being without a phone was a bit unexpected. I'm switching carriers now. Looking forward to getting my new sim card, and getting off this sinking ship.

I am so done with Republic wireless. I've been a customer for years and now every time they upgrade my phone won't work. You open a help ticket and every time you reply you get a different person. Not to mention if you don't respond quick enough they say they're going to close your ticket. I will 100% be switching to a different carrier as soon as I can find a compatible & affordable phone. This used to be a good service with a super competitive rate, but not so much anymore.

Have been a republic member for over 5 years. Has been a good experience. However the rollout of the new app no longer allows wifi calling on our phones. We don't have cell service and rely on wifi for calling. Have tried disabling the app but still unable to make calls. Am seeking a different carrier that supports wifi calling. Appears that the software was not thoroughly tested prior to it's release.

For whatever reason I am not able to access voice-mail. Every time I think the problem is fixed, it becomes a problem again. I've researched, Uninstaller, reinstalled, etc. Last ti.e I came across a Repunlic phone number that I thought fixed the issue. It did gor about two days. Customer service doesn't exist, no one answers phone. I think I'm looking for a new cell phone company.

I have had Republic over 5 years and have enjoyed it. Until now! Last week there was an update and I'm not receiving text or calls. I can still get my emails, FB, insta and other apps. If I can't get my text or calls, why bother with a phone. If it isn't fixed, I will be forced to switch carriers as I need a phone for work.

It's laughable at this point. They've literally rendered my phone useless. Texts and calls won't work 90% of the time. When you call their customer service number you sit on hold for an hour until it auto disconnects you. I've opened help tickets. I've tweeted at them. Do not use Republic Wireless. As you can see from all of the reviews written in the past 30 days, they've declined massively and aren't doing anything to help. Still get charged full bill even though service doesn't work.

The app is supposed to manage the texting on my Samsung via Google msgs. It worked yesterday and not today. I used to be able to find helpful info on the app, and now it's all outdated. I don't care if "it's not actually the app". My phone doesn't work properly. If you work for the company that manages the app, you'd better start escalating these issues that people are having, because people are going to leave fast if these issues don't get fixed my and that contract wont be worth much.

I've had republic for years and their service has degraded over time. Latest update has done away with wifi first technology, has caused many issues with outgoing calls, incoming calls, voicemail, messaging. My issues have simply been added to an "ongoing issues" ticket and have been there for over a week. The app takes you to a website that is not formatted for mobile. Their main "customer service" is run by other customers, and it is difficult to get in touch with a real person. 0/5 if I could

Used to be good, NOT NOW!!!! Texting no longer works correctly, I called to try to get the texting issue fixed with no luck. They say you have to have data on your phone and order to text pictures, gifs. I have plenty of data on the phone but the phone refuses to send anything attached to a text. This never happened under the old Republic wireless. This is the worst phone service at anyone could possibly buy stay away. Going to dump this HORRIBLE service. STAY AWAY.

Typically no major issues with Republic wireless, but does have occasional hiccups and customer service is NOT good. My cell service suddenly stopped working and I've been on hold for an hour with the customer service line...then the call hangs up so I waited for no reason. Also submitted a help ticket via the app but no avenue for urgent support. Disappointing especially since it's a major issue

Was very satisfied with Republic before the new wi-fi "service" which has not allowed me to use my phone despite uninstalling and reinstalling app three times. Now actively looking for another provider who actually can make my phone ring. Previously, I'd put up with the areas where I had no service but this is the straw breaking the camel's back.

Ama. Y. May 25, 2022

I'm sure the Republic people will say that it's unrelated like they do everything, but the service is horribly unreliable these days and I have to manually open the Republic app regularly for some reason just to make it send texts in my messages app. Calls frequently won't go out too. I can still buy data, but I run out mostly since it won't stay on wifi in the first place.

Noa. B. May 1, 2022

Been with Republic for over 5 years now because it used to be a simple & reliable service. Now it's 50/50 on if I'm going to send or receive a text or call. Used to be able to check my data usage, change my plan, and adjust different Republic settings from the app but now the app is so stripped down and every option you click leads out of the app and to the Republic website. Hope they can fix these things for customers who have been paying them for years but I'm not sticking around to find out.

I have been with republic wireless for over 6 years. Ever since the merge w/ Dish I do not get service. I thought I ran out of data and that's why I can't get my phone to work. If I am not connected to wifi I can get texts or calls. My data doesn't work.I tried updating several times ,nothing has gotten fixed. Since I am on an older plan it is recommended that I sign up for the new dish plans, but they WILL give me a discount on a new plan. I'm done here, I'm taking my business somewhere else

Sha. D. May 25, 2022

Very disappointed with the service recently!! Republic merged or taken over by DISH?? I had to call 10 times to resolve an issue and each time was given a different answer! I ended up fixing the problem myself by purchasing additional data. The last time I spoke to a supervisor who claimed to have credited my account and changed my plan, but when I bring up my account, neither has been done!! Very disappointed. May look into a different provider after almost 10 years with this company ..... 😡😡

I'm unable to send or receive calls, and texts aren't much better. Definitely feels like Dish doesnt want RW to succeed. It's a shame. This has been an excellent app with great customer service for many years, but it's really taken a nosedive. Anyhow, cheers to the people responding to all these angry reviews, feels like you're the guys playing music as the titanic sinks. Hope y'all are getting paid well at least.

Republic Wireless customer since 2016, switching to new phone service immediately. cheap plans, was able to make calls everywhere with no issues. Purchased new phone/plan almost a year ago and was very happy. I upgraded from a $15 plan to $40 recently. After completing the new SIM card setup I heard the activation takes 5 days but could use my old SIM/phone plan until active. Next day Republic canceled my older plan and cannot receive or make calls/texts. Was told I must wait, nothing I can do. The Republic Wireless App is useless.

Been with Republic for years and service was great. In last year reception areas became much smaller. The transition to new enhancements went very poorly for us and left us without much of our phone use for several weeks despite doing all they instructed for upgrade.Had to buy new phones and new plan.Still using Republic because it's what we can afford, but they did not do this transition well at all, so 1 star for poor service to customers during transition. You get what you pay for.😑

buying extra data is such a chore now, in the old app it was two taps and done. Now, I have to log into the "app", do a captcha, go through three different pages, and pass the seven trials of monkey lagoon to add data. it's annoying. I hope whoever approved this mess of an app stubs their toe biweekly for a year. (added after dev response) thank you for the clarification! I will remove the app and complete the trials of monkey lagoon on the website instead. toe stubbing curse has been lifted

Seriously, what happened? I've had republic for years. Just recently the app changed, and it's like it went back in time 10 years. It's bad, plus I tried to buy more data recently and it said it went through but I never got the data. Now all of the sudden I'm not getting texts either.

Bud. D. May 17, 2022

Was good... The last month or two they've been putting out updates and now I rarely if ever have service. I've been with republic for YEARS since they first started and didn't have a problem until recently. Then they changed the app so I cannot get ahold of customer support. Today is the day I switched to another carrier. I would warn against getting republic from here on.

M. J. May 24, 2022

I've been a Republic customer for years and never had any problems. I switched my phone and plan on Republic, and then couldn't get all my texts. After talking to customer support, it dwindled to nothing at all. Everything they suggested made it worse. Do not get Republic Wireless. Just don't.

Cli. S. Apr 28, 2022

About the app: this app is suggested by Republic to not be on my phone. But the app does not do anything to indicate that. About the company: no service for almost a week since the recent changes related to WiFi calling. I tried the steps suggested by the customer expert, and after that my support ticket has just been waiting for a response from Republic

Run! Republic Wireless is bad news. Poor service and support. Been a customer for about 6 years. Started having issues a few months back. checked my account and RW had changed my phone number. Sent a ticket in got replys we are working on it. Called support. Followed support instructions resulted in disabled my phone. So I paid to up grade to their spiffy new plans. Neither my phone nor wife’s phone works properly. Continue contacting support. Only answer is, "we are working". Been 2 weeks!

I've been a customer for about 9 years now been great till this year the rollouts the upgrades from them and Motorola not to mention Google and Duo after all crosshairs right now I'm thinking about just going back to an old style flip phone and keep it simple at this point because the smartphones aren't worth the time anymore
