Pretty good for the most part, although I do relatively often have issues with texts failing to send. Not a huge deal since you can just tap to attempt again, but I have had to reboot to get it to work once or twice. Also, PLEEEEEASE make the excellent dark theme that is available on the desktop version available on mobile as well! That would make me a very happy camper.

Constantly buggy every few weeks. Inconsistently sends texts or gives error messages so you can't tell. Every couple of months I go through a cycle of not being able to communicate with others and spending way too much time with Republic help. I'm happy with everything else in Republic and have been with them for years, but this might become a deal breaker.

I like Republic Wireless but this is the worst text app I have used. Ever. It's needs an upgrade. I do a lot of business through messaging and I need to send messages quick and easy. It's slow on my my new Samsung J7 and even if you go super slow it mis-spells words, adding capital letters, spaces and other things that prolong the process of sending a simple message. Upgrade this app please. Thank you.

Just submitted a ticket to the help team. The app was working perfectly until a few months ago. It now will not send messages, or say it's not sent but actually sent. App takes up to 30 seconds to open and the keyboard doesnt always pop up when you open a message, sometimes requiring me to restart the app. Uninstall/reinstalled it today. hoping that helps. Wish I could just use my default messages app with Republic.**Update- reinstalling helped with some slowness. issues are only with anywhere.

First of all, at least for Androids, this app doesn't actually work like an App. Instead it brings up their program within a browser, and then even after that, you can't access basic things on it like Settings. in addition, you can't even create an icon for it to bring up the program on your screen; you have to actually go to Play Store and open it from there, which makes no sense.

Previously this app was awesome, handled mms really well, both sending and receiving. The texting from PC was really seamless as well which was an amazing feature! A new update has rendered it pretty useless. App no longer makes sound notifications, and gets weird messages that never finish downloading. The icon also has a weird ring around it, almost like it has some permanent notification going on. It is very glitchy now.

This app is great. I used to use Pushbullet before they yanked the text from a computer behind a pay wall. It is great to have this functionality again. I have had 0 problems with computer connectivity, and love that restoring my communications is automatic when reinstalling the app. The only issue I have is the size of the gif files I can't send. GBoard had a gift browser and sometimes the "attachment is too big." That's only a minor annoyance though. Thanks for the great app RW!

This app is fine, but is definitely lacking some features that I find handy. One is a search option - you can't search for words in a conversation. Also, I'm not a fan of the poor quality MMS. I don't really have a need to access my texts from any device so the fact that it's anywhere is meh. I only use this messaging app cause I am too lazy to get on the community and figure out if there's one with better features that I can safely and reliably use on my phone.

This app is a unique offering from Republic Wireless and an excellent choice if you primarily use it for texting on a desktop computer. The Anywhere desktop app is much more responsive than Google Messages for Web, since it doesn't have to wait to communicate with your phone for every action. Google Messages for web also constantly disconnects from my phone after it's been asleep too long. Quick tip: if you use Anywhere for desktop, get used to Archiving rather than Deleting messages.

This app isn't that bad, but it definetely helped me recover my past messages after my phone got in a boot loop. One problem is that half the time the messages wont send and you have to resend. There's also the problem of being taken back to your home screen when replying out of the app. I am thinking of upgrading my phone but republic doesn't support it and there aren't any apps able to back up the messages in this app.

It works but it's clumsy and ugly. Please include a dark mode in the next update! The white text on colored backgrounds isn't the easiest to read. It'd rather have everything the same few colors so I can read my texts. Using Republic I have to use this app. Plus, is there any way to stop the apple "Liked" messages from appearing? So annoying in group messages. Thanks for your time!

I love the convenience of being able to receive and send texts from either my phone or the desktop, but text threads aren't sync'd very well between the two. Often, the phone app will say "downloading,,," or "syncing message..." and never get updated with data from the desktop app. This app needs a lot of work (and testing, please).

I have Republic wireless so I thought this app would work well. Turns out, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. Whether I'm out us in cellular or home on my wifi, it will work sometimes and then, inexplicably, not be able to send my texts or receive texts. Calling it "ANYWHERE" IS A joke. Finally I just went back to the message app that came with my phone. Works better and more dependable.

A complete pain. Have to tap every message to download it. after sending a text it will open a second folder when they reply without the text you sent in it. Often times it would say message can't send then after tapping retry a bunch I'd always have to kill the app, hit the lock button, unlock it, open the app and hit retry again. This also doesn't work with bitmoji. Just a pain... Use your default texting app.

**Update** Google Messenger sends texts just fine. This app still doesn't work 😡 ****************** This app started out great as my default sms message app. Now most of my out going message are being received by the people i am sending them to, but I keep getting "message not sent" notifications on my end. Or it continues to say "sending" and then sends multiple copies of the text. I tried to send feedback or notify of issues and I keep getting an error and asked to sign in again over and over.

I like republic wireless, and I realize that I get what I pay for, but that doesn't change that the app is a showcase everything thats wrong with the company. The messages on the app show up in the wrong order, the actual interface is ugly, theres no way to search for messages. Complaints usually result in being redirected to a guy who will just tell you to do a factory reset on your phone, so help tickets typically won't do anything, because the problem is almost always on their end. The problems in the reviews will never get fixed because republic doesn't have the either the manpower or expertise to create software that works consistently amoung many different phones.

APR 2019: after about 4 months of working fine, App has hit another bump. Keeps randomly stopping and won't notify me of new texts. Also saves up texts and then dumps them all together as "new" when they are actually hours old. NOV 2018: App stopped working and gave a message that only republic wireless customer may use the app (I am and nothing has happened to cause any change since the last time I texted someone just a hour ago). Have deleted the app and am switching back to messages instead.

App snycs phone texts with PC, allowing you to send texts from PC, which is very handy once you figure out how to do it. You can even send & receive/download text pictures on PC. PC app takes a long time to launch (I'm using Windows 10). It only sorts contacts by first name so you have to start texts through contacts app instead if you have a lot of contacts & want to look them up by last name.

i think that they should add a way to automatically schedule texts and be able to choose rhe color of conversations. most of mine are green for some reason and i dont like green! i would like to change them to their favorite color. that would make my days a whole lot easier. It also doesn't normally update unless i get wifi. which is a bit disappointing. Not the worst but not the best.

A. G. u. May 2, 2019

Normally works well, but ever since yesterday, I have been unable to send messages to any group chats which has basically been the worst thing ever. Other issues that occasionally pop up are messages failing to send, receiving duplicate texts, and various issues with sending pictures, which would only make this a 4-star rating. The group chat problem is what is making this 3 because I am deciding to be nice. I am upset enough to make it a 2 though.

The app used to work very well. Now....I no longer can retrieve my contacts by name in the app on my PC laptop. The only way to find a contact is by phone number. Every valid contact is marked with INVALID CONTACT error message on the app screen. Something is very wrong....the cell Android app still works....but no longer syncs with the laptop (Windows 10)

I've generally been a happy and loyal customer of Republic Wireless. However, I'm tired of repeatedly losing messages in the Anywhere app. Contacting customer service for advice when this happens is hit or miss. Last time I lost messages, the rep advised resynching, and I ended up with less message history rather than reclaiming lost messages. I had another incident today, and I reinstalled the app rather than resynching. Better results but still missing. Get it together, Republic.

App was working great then all of a sudden It started not sending messages, not downloading the messages I have received. I would get a message 5 hours after a person had sent it to me. I had to constantly resend messages I was putting out. it has been a mess. I opened a help ticket and they end up telling me to factory reset my phone which has created other issues on its own. I just downloaded the Google messages but now it won't let me send MMS messages and it is breaking up my long texts.

Was using it as primary SMS app in CA. Drove to AZ and it immediately said I didn't have an account or was registered as a Republic customer. What nonsense. I had both wifi and network connection so that wasn't the problem. Going to something more robust. Update 11-30-18: I uninstalled the Anywhere and reinstalled after reading other users reviews of an outage. I may have been a bit hasty. The reinstall seemed to work. Also rebooted. Still this app just gets a 4 star until it get more reliable. The developer did contact me which is appreciated.

I too have had issues since yesterday afternoon but I resolved this by uninstalling/reinstalling the Republic Anywhere app. Surprisingly, I did not even need to login as that was all saved and all of my content was synced automatically from the cloud in seconds. This app is fantastic particularly the syncing to my laptop using the cloud. I particularly like dictating text to myself on my Android telephone and it instantly appears on the PC. I give both Republic Wireless and their anywhere app 5 stars.

This app worked great until today. Now I get the message Not Enrolled Republic Anywhere. None of the suggestions online worked and when I tried to uninstall and reinstall it just circulates like it's taking forever to download. Please fix!! Update: Got an email from the developers. There was some sort of power outage. Everything is back to normal.

EDIT: I absolutely love the passive aggressive response from one of employees! Honestly whoever spends all this time responding to reviews needs to get a raise ----- This app used to work "okay" until earlier this year. Ever since then the app very occasionally says the message failed to send, even though sometimes it actually did send. Also for some reason when I get texts from people that use the Samsung Messages app it splits their texts up and spits them out-of-order so it makes it every hard to follow along. I switched to the Google Messages app and I haven't had that problem ever again, and it has a lot more features. The only good thing about this app is how you can install it on a PC and text from your computer even when your phone is powered off. If you're absolutely convinced to stick with Republic Wireless I recommend you install the Messages app by Google over this. If not, then I recommend giving Tello a try, or Mint Mobile if you need more data as they are both cheaper than Republic AND offer over-the-phone support and not just some online ticket system. If you happen to use Xfinity (Comcast) for internet or cable they offer ridiculously cheap mobile service at a bundled discount.

Does not automatically notify when text messages are received. I have to open the app and then notifications show up which is crazy annoying. Also, it constantly fails to send messages so I have to close and reopen the app a few times before messages send. And lastly, limited to one gif a day. Overall poor service on my Samsung S8.

A. G. u. Dec 17, 2018

The issue of incorrect order of messages does not have to do with the length of the message. Even single-word text messages will appear out of order. My time settings are in Auto and that doesn't prevent the error from ocurring. It's a poorly designed text app that needs more work and debugging.

It's ok, but does NOT like to sync contacts, even when I follow all the prescribed steps TO sync contacts. Further, not receiving messages until days or weeks after they're sent is not fun, and happening more and more frequently. If I didn't like being able to use this on my computers as well as my phone, I'd happily seek another app.
