This is an amazing app for staying up to date on research. It's convenient how it can natively link with my university to provide access to different journals. My largest complaint is that this app doesn't offer a widget on Android. It would be a lot more convenient to have a constant feed of papers on my home screen, where I can causally see papers I'd enjoy without needing to open the app.

"I sent you several mails with no response, your application is great how ever, lately a lot of journals like the journals of AACR are not updated. Lot of important journals are not updating." Thank you, the AACR journals are now updating. Still other journals are not, like Molecular Therapy, Cytotherapy Please keep updating enlisted journals

Since last update my personalized feed stopped working. Seems like it doesn't see my favorite journals anymore. Also, app asked me to setup everything from scratch (just like during first use), but the feed rule and fav journals are still there... but not working

This is absolutely the best app for following information easily. Everything leads to the correct destination with the ability to cite all works correctly. 6 stars. Thank you.

So glad I came across your App! It has great features but keeps crashing every time I try to click 'settings' in a personalised feed. Despite enable the 'hide read papers' option in the main settings, the papers I read seem to remain visible in the feed although marked with the read sign. It would be great to filter them out. I like the use of and/or to create my feeds. Though it would be nice to be able to use the parenthesis with the OR option too (not just with AND). Thank you!

Great idea for an app! However. I'm having problems setting up filters. This morning I was able to setup one word filters, but the buttons on the advanced filter were inoperable. Now those fields work, but I can't save even a simple filter without the error: can't save to server, check your internet connection". There's nothing wrong with my connection, just this app.

I really liked the app. Great work. All journals of my field in the same place. I just hope if you could add a "help" section to get us through problems/tutorials through the app. For example, I accidentally left swiped a paper in one of my filters, and now I am not able to get that paper back into the aforementioned list. Help will be appreciated. Thanks :)

Thank you for incorporating institutional access a while back. One area of improvement would be to allow users to set notification frequencies, ideally once a week. I just had to turn all of them off after having 20+ notifications at once. I made this suggestion last year, and I would love to see it implemented. Otherwise, this is a great, super useful app.

Really nice interface. One little suggestion. It might be a nice idea to be able to search for papers and sort them by popularity. Right now it is always sorted to date and considering the fact that you can only see one paper at a time makes it very hard to find what you are looking for. Overall great app, I can see this app become very big if a bit more options where added.

One of the best apps of this sort. I like the interface, functional selection and bookmarking of the papers. However, the newest update has completely crashed the app so that I can't get past the initial loading screen. It gets stuck at 0% and just drops out to the main screen. No content is being read in... Is there any way around it? I'm using huawei mate 10 pro, emui 9. Thank you!

Good app, quite useful from time to time. But I think the swiping situation is all wrong. The home page is organized in tabs, arranged side by side, while the papers are in columns. However, a swipe to the left or right does not change tab, but will swipe out the paper from your collection (and no chance to get it back). This is kind of weird with respect to other android apps, and it's kind of hard to get used to it.

EDIT: I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. It works now. I don't know what happened. This app is great, happy it works! Doesnt work. I couldn't get past the "Select journals" screen. I had 40 selected and pressing "Follow 40 journals" didnt advance the screen. Exited the app and tried again. Still no luck. I can't get past the journal selection screen.

Great app, strongly recommended to scientists looking for all fresh articles with the chosen keywords in a single feed. Tried it some time ago, but then the keyword search didn't work properly. Now everything works fine. The interface is smooth and pleasant. The only problem is with the screen orientation - when landscape mode is only allowed on a device, the in-app orientation changes unpredictably between different app screens. Dear support team, please, make a full landscape support, and your app will be the best android sci tool in the world.

No significant use cases, as it doesn't even seem to have the option to filter for articles with free access(most 99% are paid), which means it can't do anything that a slightly advanced or even normal Google search can't do. Maybe this isn't the developer's fault as this is a common issue with most apps of this kind. It's just a fancy way to mimic an in browser Google search.

UPDATED: I really like the app - it is easy to set up and use. The export options are extremely handy, allowing me to share abstracts and DOIs with colleagues in a sleek way. The range of journals is great & has improved since I first installed. I'm also using the app as a substitute for skimming mindlessly through social media - scrolling through a list of abstracts in various fields is much more interesting and a better use of my time. I contacted the app developer regarding a minor issue I was experiencing, but that has been resolved. It was not a major issue in any case, but I received very swift helpful responses. lt was also interesting to hear more about how the app works! Highly recommended for researchers of all kinds

There are some really good qualities of this app. It's very well designed visually. The keyword/topic feature makes discovery super easy. And it contains a lot of journals. Four stars because the two biggest things I wish it did are: 1) Make reading the articles easier. It just opens up a pdf view which is very difficult on mobile. It would be super neat if it linked to the references. 2) Tell you which journals are free to access.

Heads up, I think there is a bug in the app, at least on certain phone models. As of today, I started receiving an endless stream of notifications from the app. I mean, literally hundreds or even thousands of notifications today. More than 1 per second while I am using my phone. It is mostly the same notification repeated over and over. Fortunately the notifications are 'silent' so they are not intrusive, but it is certainly a pretty bad issue. This only started happening today.

Thi. S. Sep 26, 2018

I like how simple and easy it is to use the app. This app is exactly what I was looking for. One thing I'd suggest though, is to send push notifications about articles I may like, which could be based on items I bookmarked or read, or have some sort of Like feature. There's another app I use for getting Neuroscience news and I receive notifications every day, which makes me go check the news, even if I don't read it completely. If I'm interested, I open the app, but generally seeing the notification is enough to get my attention - although they don't curate the news for me. For some time I even forgot I had the Researcher app cause I'd be working or doing other things during the day and never got a "hello there" from the app. Other than that, great job on the app.

G.. Y. Jan 21, 2020

Love the app. Would love it more if there is an option for the reader to stay at where they were browsing after exiting from an abstract, rather than automatically return to the newest ones at the top. It gets tedious to scroll down all the time, especially if there are many articles to browse.

Ste. P. Apr 15, 2019

I'm not the one to rate apps usually, but this is something else. You start by imputting what areas of science interest you, including selecting from hundreds of journals. After that, you get papers and articles as recent as just a few minutes old. This is truly amazing, factoring in the fact that it's free! This, plus Sci-Hub makes you an unstoppable researcher.

Joe. D. Feb 24, 2020

Good concept, good execution, good app. It's exposed me to more scientific work than I would've discovered without it. Feature request: Offer some way to access papers on desktop computers, some kind of syncing. In general, I don't want to read papers on my phone. Keep up the good work.

Vit. P. Nov 13, 2019

Amazing app! However, it should be possible to reorganize the order of the filters... It's such a basic thing and it's really annoying to have them all mixed up. I started with psychiatry related filters then added a bunch of other ones, and now there's a psychiatry one I just thought of and I can't put it next to the others. Please add this feature and I'll change it to 5 stars

Ste. Aug 9, 2020

Hi, it definitely has some potential, but I think there is still some work to do. For example, I selected "hide viewed paper" but everytime I open any journals, I see the already viewed feeds (they have the 2 v on the left). Definitely it's annoying... And please, make the app installable on the external sd (it's getting bigger and the internal capacity is limited)

A. G. u. Mar 16, 2019

Great concept. Has some weird UX quirks like having to restart a feed when youve already seen the first 10 items, the bookmark button looks like its default is bookmarked, the UI is very minimal and rough around the edges in an unfinished looking way. The papers only seem to go back 10 months? And as far as I'm aware you can't browse popular articles by keyword, which is a shame and would help filter past keyword. You can't (re)prioritize your keywords.

Sim. S. Sep 23, 2018

Really love the concept. I think it should allow you to easily filter by freely available articles, and those that require you to buy, like Springer or Wiley. Also, the PDFs doe arXiv articles don't load..which is certainly a hindrance. However, this does allow easy saving and bookmarking of titles for later review or search. With a few minor tweaks to the loading of docs, easy sorting/grouping by field, and such, this would be phenomenal.

Las. H. May 19, 2021

Arguably the best app for keeping abreast of the latest journal articles. Clean interface and mostly smooth functionality. Saves me some so much time and I can review literature on the go. Wish I had found this sooner. A minor hassle I have is that I need to log in (institutional access details) for each article. I wish the app would at least maintain my username and password.

Rap. M. M. Apr 6, 2019

It is a promising app although many improvements can still be made. Unless I am doing something wrong, the filter feature is flawed. I tried using One word keywords (e.g. "Patents", "Licensing") or longer keywords (e.g. : "Market for Patents") and all these give poor or no results. The search gives mainly recent papers , which is interesting, but it doesn't necessarily mean those are the most relevant for the topic. Same thing happens when searching by author, it only returns 2-3 papers.

Great app. Enjoy the enormous amount of content and starting my morning with a heavy hit of knowledge. There does appear to be a glitch that began yesterday (for me), however. Can't find a spot in the app to report it. With the glitch, the top or newest papers show up in my notifications literally 18-22 times of the repeated notification, all of the same paper, with the same time stamp for the notification. My Top Paper this morning came in 22 times, and the additional ones this evening were 18.
