Glitchy app with terrible user experience. When I first open the app, the page just spins and doesn't load. If the page manages to load, it is very hard to search up restaurants. If I try to search for restaurants, either the restaurant doesn't show up or there are no available tables. I don't use the app to book anything and simply use it to see what reservations I have made, and use the web browser to actually book. It's so much easier that way.
Still terrible. Downloaded back in July. Now it's November and continues to be glitchy & counterintuitive. The map function doesn't work properly and other aspects of the search function could be simpler. Also when trying to change a reservation - CHANGE - The app tells you that you have a conflicting reservation and asks if you want to change it instead of saying, "making changes to current reservation" or something that doesn't make you feel as if you've made a mistake. Needs a ton of work.
I love the ability to make reservations through Resy for the Great American restaurant chain, however the Resy app has so much room for improvement. On 2 different occasions when I have had to change reservations (time, date, number of people), I was unable to do this after clicking on "Change". On both occasions, I had to cancel the reservation and start from scratch. I really don't think this is how any app should work.
Not an intuitive app. Difficult to figure out how to initially select the number in our party. Reservation was made before I wanted it to be. Tried changing the number of people and couldn't. Finally exited the app and came back. Had to cancel the reservation I didn't want to make while making the new one. It also didn't show the two restaurants that are half a block away when suggesting restaurants in the area. All the suggested ones were at least five miles away.
So much worse than the website. Every time I open it there is an ad for Amex and it will not go away. Every time I click anything or change any setting it pops up again. There is no option to make it go away. Regardless of this ad pop up nightmare, the search option yields far less results than the website. It's not intuitive at all and it's hard to use. You can't really search on the map easily and it is cumbersome to try and put in new search criteria while trying to view the map.
Unusable. I am in Santa Barbara, CA. It starts me off in New York city. I searched for Santa Barbara, and got no results. Every time I try to do anything, I get a pop-up for some promo they are doing. Do the words user experience or usability mean anything to these people? I literally cannot make a reservation locally no matter what I do, and there are restaurants in the area that use resy (though I can't imagine why)! Worst app experience I've had in quite some time.
Terrible app, full of bugs, very slow and takes a long time to render search results and impossible to get reservations using notify feature, it doesn't work and doesn't hold your reservation while it forces you to add a credit card. Notify has to be the worst feature of this app. Total waste of time and frustrating. OpenTable is way better but has a shrinking list of customers.
The Resy service is fine, but the app is one of the worst I've ever seen. The search function is horrendous. There no easy way to see what restaurants are available at a certain time (it will show a list of all restaurants and you have to scroll through them to see what's available). OpenTable might be more expensive for restaurants to offer, but their app at least is functional and use-friendly
Maybe I'm mistaken but your website makes it easy to search for a restaurant by typing the name on the search field, yet the app limits me to a map and a search field that only recognizes cities. I understand that you're trying to make your app look modern but making it impossible to find what the user needs isn't beneficial to anyone. Till it's fixed, I'll use stick to calling a restaurant or using other sites.
The user interface is very frustrating to use. Stop showing me restaurants on the map that don't have reservations available. And let me just give the time I want, not early, prime, late. When you try to adjust the search by moving the map it never gives results. Remarkable that over time this app never improves and that more and more places use it. I always search on open table or Google first.
This app is horrible! I'm honestly surprised this is considered a finished app. Search function is non-functional, and the map feature is probably the worst interface I've experienced in the years. It also keeps bringing me to the next city over which is over 40 miles away. The two things that this app is supposed to do it fails to deliver on. You might as well us OpenTable to make any reservations as this app is super confusing to use and you'll frustrate yourself trying to book with any restaurant on this platform.
Worst app I've ever used. No matter what city or restaurants I type in it always takes me to Manhattan just outside of Central Park. I booked a reservation online using the website, but wanted to book another while traveling and it will not bring up any restaurants even when I manually move the map to the area we are in and hit the "search this area" button. Most of the restaurants in this area only use Resy for reservations, which is unfortunate because we can't find any of them in the app.
Does. Not. Work. Can't search. Doesn't recognize neighborhood names in NYC. "My Hit List" doesn't link to the individual restaurants' Resy booking pages. Honestly, this app is a complete disaster. Just give us the notification option on the website, and I'll be fine with the entire service and never deal with the app. (But they reserve wait-list notification options for app users only...
Absolutely awful app. If you leave the screen to go look at a restaurant, it takes you back to the beginning of the list and you have to scroll to get back where you want to be. When move on map to look at a neighborhood, it does nothing (besides having a button that says "search this area." Completely unfunctional.
Just the worst. The app is so bad (can't search more than a week in advance, so good luck getting those tough reservations that open up two weeks out) that it's easier just to use their horrible mobile website. Unlike every other reservation site, it doesn't hold your reservations until you fully complete the process. So, while you're sitting there waiting for them to text you a security code, that time slot you woke up early for is booked, and you get to start over. Appalling.
Resy's Android app suffers from so many bugs that it's simply unusable. The app frequently fails to display any reservations at all. Filters set on the search menu (like date, party size) are ignored on the next screen. Often it crashes repeatedly. These bugs have gone unaddressed for years. I've been using Android since 2011, and Resy is by far the least functional app I've used in 10 yrs. Simply bewildering that Amex, known for their focus on customer experience, hasn't fixed this.
About as bad as a restaurant app can get. Nearly impossible to search in a specific area as the app doesn't recognize anything but a major city even though I know for a fact that there are restaurants outside of that City reserving through Resy. And the site also crashes occasionally even in the most popular of cities where it recognizes nothing. Two stars for the fact that when it does work, it looks and reacts beautifully.
Frustrating app. Map feature is basically useless, it doesn't auto-load or even let you search in a new area you've scrolled over. Lists reset to beginning of the entire list if you click a restaurant to view and then click "back" button. No settings options to allow notifications, so I've missed "notify me" wait lists because they only go to email. "Prime" seating time shows anywhere from 11am-12am (the entire day....).
It pains me to think about how restaurants are losing business left and right because they are using resy as their reservation system. I don't know of any other app that I use regularly that is this poor. Not opening, showing no reservations a majority of the time, unable to load, pop ups that are uncontrollable, no ability to use a filter to narrow down... The list goes on. It's upsetting that our fave restaurants use this app because it's free for them when OpenTable is the gold standard.
This app might be one of the worst apps I've ever used. The search function by city doesn't work, so I can't actually use the app to make reservations outside my current city. When I receive hit list notifications, the app freezes when I tap the notification. Those two major issues alone are enough for me to abandon using this service until (if?) the problems are resolved. .
2 years later update, this is a worthless app. -5 stars for wasting my time trying to figure it out. Uninstalled. App platform is broken.. City filter does nothing, and searches always start in NYC. Reservations do not display in the App. Too many bugs. Over 2 years later, no response and no improvement. Unable to view confirmed reservations in the app. Don't waste your time, this is nothing but a tracker/ info collector selling your data.
