RET Barcode
With the RET Barcode app you do not need a physical ticket anymore, you travel by sight and show your ticket on your mobile.
At the start of the trip you activate the ticket by pressing the activation button.
Do this before you get in.

The app only works on phones with nfc, I have a chinese phone with nfc but apparantly chinese nfc just works different so I couldn't check in. The bus driver was very polite and told me it's no problem but the metro has gates which I could not pass. I tried calling their number at 7:30 but they don't work on saturdays. I had to jump over the gates to not miss my metro which was very hard because the gates are very tall. Would have rather used my chipcard or the physical card from the machine.
Terrible. The only thing this app does is that it downloads properly. Does not allow usage of any non-Dutch credit/Debit cards.
As a tourist I just discovered this doesn't even accept foreign cards, only those provided by Dutch banks. Thanks to this I have to pay the hefty supplement for the OV card. Thanks for ripping me off RT.
Quite a pointless app. As a tourist, it's better to pay for the OV chip card instead and just use pay-as-you-go
Scam! I have lost €4, the code was not working at the metro in Amsterdam Centraal, or at the bus. Do not install!

Seems to be a cool possibility to pay travel fares e.g. at Rotterdam public transports. Unfortunately there are only a few limited pay methods. PayPal or direct debit would be nice to be a choice for the fact that I don't have a credit card. (By the way, my kids neither don't have credit cards but would like to use this app...)
