I've been using this app for a long time now and thing it's great for producing some lovely looking images. A recent phone upgrade has left me at a bit of a loss as I no longer appear to be able to access the settings menu. Samsung have changed the menu button to function as a recent apps button. If the next upgrade features a settings button on screen I'll be back to being very happy as I'll be able to turn the sound off again.
Stupid that you can only see a Viewfinder that's about 1cm Square when we have these phones with lovely big screens. Makes framing really difficult. A lot of ads, but no point in suggesting features or requesting changes as the developer isn't interested and, while they invite suggestions, never act on or reply to them.
Way too much work done in making it look fun rather than making it actually fun to use. Slow and fussy if you want to change to a different camera filter and the gallery animation is ridiculous. Also the adverts are annoyingly placed. On the other hand the end results themselves are good but I don't think I'll be keeping it on my phone.
I loved this app, and have installed it on multiple phones; however, I wish they would add the option to apply the filters post process as well. Even though it takes very cool photos, I barely use it anymore because it's a bit slow, and I often wonder what my photos would look like with different filters. I've moved on to apps that allow post processing options.
I've had this app for years and it makes great photos and is easy to use (including switching from colour to B&W) BUT - it's slow to set up each time - it's best used when offline - it seems to update every time you switch the phone off which to me is too much. Lovely results but I'm looking for something else now
I use one camera in this app and it produces a very nice black and white photo and rich color photos. The little orange box has been great for both landscapes and portraits. The effects can at times be striking. Camera angle and position can be used to easily manage exposure. Very useful app.
Easy to use, helpful info screen, very small viewfinder but actually dont mind it ha. Only real issue is the ads, as has been said a paid option to remove them would be nice.
I love the black and white pictures this camera takes, not that the color pictures are bad or anything but the black and white pictures somehow are just awesome. The interface could be more user friendly but that also has its charm. Perhaps not an app you'll use for quick spontaneous pictures but if you like pictures with a lovely charm to them this is your app.
I've used this app for several years now. It offers unique filters but I'm now unable to access the settings menu on the Galaxy s6. Hopefully this can be fixed, I loved being able to change focus, flash, shutter sound, etc.
Pretty good on the rez but I found the same company's camera for Symbian platform had a better series of filters though too heavy (look at the symbian app!). Also the shutter sound is too loud and even on phone mute it's still there. Also, app is often too slow.
The thing I really like about this app is the limited feature set, down to the tiny "viewfinder". You can't really tell what your shots will look like until you "develop" them. The lack of zoom and other features you're used to forces you to get creative and compose your shots within the small frame you get with this camera. I only wish there was a way to edit the borders, scratches and other "retro" effects within the app. One of my favorite pic apps, and if you're on Instagram, the ratio is perfect!
Easy, fun to use app, but more of a toy than anything. The resolution is too low on the pictures taken to actually print or especially enlarge. It's cool to play around with, though. Samsung Galaxy S3
Takes nice picturea in oldish styles. And d effects of photos are greatly optimized. I m gonna take all my photos by it
The best camera app out of all Ive used. It's the one thing that brought me back to my droid phone.
My favorite novelty cam app. The view finder is tiny, yes. But the end product is gorgeous. I only wish I could import photos to edit with Retro Cam's lens effects. And use my front cam.
Have been using this app for 3 years now. On another phone. Got a new one now and had to get it again. All the pictures come out great and I have no complaints.
I used this app with my first android, many years ago. Decided to come back and see if I've missed anything new. I'll rate again when I play around
I has this app on my iPhone 4, and lived it. I had all the film, lens, and camera body options, and used it all the time. Downloaded it on my new HTC phone, sad to see only the basic bodies are available, and no option to purchase more.
Excellent app... Perfect standalone app for retro photography... Would have given it 5 stars if you could have a bit more control on the different effects produced from using different cameras...
Difficult to understand at first, but once you figure out what is what its a bad-ass camera that lets u have a variety of different old fashioned shots! Keep updating it and ill keep it fer life..💗
I dont understand anything i read the help and stuff evrytime i try to switch cameras into selfie mode it goes to the camera thing. I dont understand...
Love the Barbl effect. Gives a retro look and can be further enhanced using Instagram. Only reasons I can't give it 5 stars is the small viewfinder and the unresponsive shutter. I do also get periodical problem with glitches with the images via Barbl - latitudal lines.
This is my favorite alternate camera app. Latest update fixed issue with hang at the developing screen. I would pay for this app to eliminate ads and encourage more camera types.
Can't edit existing photos, makes a loud sound even when my phone was on vibrate only. Weak app.
At first, when I read the ratings for this app, I was encouraged to install this. But when I started shooting, there's this "busy". I don't know what's happening when I click the button, the app will close. I thought it would be great. I was excited to shoot & try it for my Instagram account😒
I used to take pics with this app all the time with my old phone (Samsung galaxy s3 mini). Now I have a Samsung Galaxy s5 and since this phone doesn't have an actual "menu button" anymore I cannot access the settings!!! Hence I can't get rid of the sound. I love to take pictures of my cat when he's asleep and all cuddled up in funny poses. Now I take one picture and he wakes up from the sound. It's super annoying and makes me very sad.
Great app. I love the look of film based photography and this mimics it well. Wish they would add more cameras but good as is.
Love this camera app, been using it on my iphone and HTC Butterfly but please an update or additional camera will be much appreciated.
I really like the app and would have given it a higher rating except there is no way to turn the shutter sound off which is annoying. I liked to use it on my old phone in silence the so no one heard me taking a picture. But now every effort can hear. Please fix this for galaxy s7.
