Reuters TV: Video News

Does not work. Even on wifi, the app just stays on the loading screen permanently and will never play any video, even on your phone (let alone chromecast). I gave it a week, tried everything, but this app is completely nonfunctional, so I'm deleting it. It's a shame, because Reuters is a great news source. Their Roku app works flawlessly, but this android app is so poorly coded, you can't even get it to run.

I love Reuter's news coverage, but this app is very buggy. The video will take forever to load, randomly restarts the current video, and often disconnects from the Chromecast (and it can't gracefully recover when that happens). It is so close to being a great app - just needs some investments in Quality Control.

Its one of the rare apps that can chromecast a newsfeed directly to the TV. Appreciate how you can choose between a US / International newsfeed and 15 or 30 minute summary. However would like to have an option to remove the popup notification at the top when the next news segment airs. It vibrates the phone unnecessarily and also blocks me from being productive on my phone as it blocks top of the phone. Please make it optional!

App is a pretty good news source, but the functionality is could be better. You cannot pick and choose interest topics, which is relatively minor. The biggest issue I have is the recurring download for offline watching is completely non functional. The app will never download a new program without explicitly being asked to do so.

The offline watching function doesn't work anymore and the device orientation detection is terrible: it keeps leaving fullscreen video if you lay the phone on a flat surface. I still use it basically every morning, but it sure is a pain having to hold the phone in a very specific way and nor being able to save data watching during my commute.

Very good app. Only frustrating thing is due to the phone I'm using (Samsung S10). If I turn off my screen to let just the audio play, then - in about 2 mins - it will struggle to stay active (sound will stutter) until the app actual shuts down. Even with "allow background activity" setting on. I have to actually make the app active in order to make the stuttering stop.

In the last two updates the subtitles have been removed. Its getting tough for me, a non-native speaker, to follow the news. Moreover, there has been no change in the app after the said updates either. Also there are screen orientation issues. Any change in phone position brings it out of full-screen

As soon as you open the app on Android (Galaxy S8), you're inundated with repeated notification sounds that you can't seem to get rid of. This happens every time you open the app. It's annoying enough that I watch ReutersTV from a browser. I would rate this app 5 stars if they fix this.

I'm enjoying the app so far since I install it two days ago. Previous apps like Newsbeat and Watchup did the same thing as this one, but they're both no longer available 😔. Thankfully, Reuters took the the best of the two apps, and make it their own, and make it better. I'm looking forward to using this app as my go to news source. When it says " it's news for busy people who don't have time for the news ", you deliver your promise. Keep up the great work Reuters. 👍!

Reuters is bias free and you can customize how much time you want to spend watching the news! It'll shorten the stories and give you top news as well as break up stories into bits you can click and watch separately. That is really clever and useful. I use this app every day now and I'm so grateful for what Reuters is doing altogether. I can finally chromecast the news properly to my TV at home!

Love quick access and summary of actual news, with little bias. Yes, sadly, even Reuters now has some, but remains one of the few reliable, nearly unbiased sources. Unfortunately, with Android updated to new software, V9, Pie, I cannot watch it, as video just attempts to spin up and never does.

Most US news is politically biased towards the liberal ideology. For a news organization that boasts about being balanced, unbiased, and centrist I'm disappointed. Most US news I've seen in this app is strongly biased and none factual. Very little original research and a whole lot of parroting. I'm uninstalling in 2 weeks if the pattern doesn't change. Used to like the app.

I used to use this app regularly but it has recently stored working. All I get to watch is the buffering wheel spinning endlessly. I really liked the app when it worked. Hopefully a fox will happen soon so that I can continue to use it.

the app is good, but it doesnt allow me to login to my account by email and the notifications when I'm watching the news (when I minimize the app or when new segment is playing) on Chromecast is just very infuriating. if you guys will fix that, then I will give 5 stars.

This current version of the app has an annoying feature where a notification sounds several times if you switch to another application while watching a program. No apparent way to defeat this.

This app is extremely biased, it will click bait you into different articles, and lead you to an extremely left view.. I have had it for over a year now. I keep it only to see what the left side thinks..

the recent increase in cisco adverts is crazy. it plays like 4+ times during a news collection and i just had 3 in a row after every small news bits. that makes the adverts longer than the coverage. this is just dumb. uninstall...

Like watching the nightly news. A great app. My country and my 🌎 neatly organized with good reporters. You control the length of the feed, a plus for people on the move.

Great news reporting, has bugs since last update, video is 20 seconds off from graphics and buttons. Lost ability to select video to be played.

I have used Reuters for several years and to me, it is straight news videos without bias. It is updated often during the day and I trust it more than any other news app.

I'm a fan, but I'm having trouble with minimizing it which prompt a barrage of notifications. I will update the score when this issue is corrected.

Doesn't load content, which used to be pedantically scripted (good) and interestingly shot (better). Bummer. Net Neutrality issue? Needs a timeout and some error handling.

Drop the 'World In Pictures' feature. It is essentially useless fodder and the audio clanging that overshadows the experience is Grating! Stop the Audio, at least.

I like the quality of content and the scope of the news; however casting this on a Chromecast hasn't been as easy as casting with other apps; to stop casting through Reuters after the series finished, I have to restart the news series, hit cast, then hit stop casting

Please correct spelling at bottom of screen : Guaido has an accent on the " o ". Likewise, the journalist must learn the correct pronunciation. Otherwise, the contents will not be appreciated.

The Watch Offline option hasn't worked in months. I've changed phones and it still doesn't work. I've emailed the developer and no response.
