I used this app to get around for work with UberEATS , the day pass was great but not they only give you 40 miles and charge more. A lot of us renters in Washington d.c have quite using them cause of it.
Would be 5 stars, but there was a glitch with pausing my ride and I hed to end it and start a new one. Otherwise, I'm really loving it!
Good app. Great concept. 200+ rides and no problems with using the service. This app would get 5 stars but because of the hours of operation I have to give 4 stars. I work very early in the morning and the service is unavailable. Revel please fix your hours of operation. You are losing business!
Revels service has seem to diminish throughout this past month. (Speaking on my personal experience). I've tried relentlessly to get on a revel, but am unable to take a verification photo of my helmet. The app just logs me out & doesn't register anything. An update would be wonderful, if not, Lime seems reliable
Just like everybody else, buggy app, unbale to lock the car and try to resolve the issue in cold winter condition, 2 star for the customer service who finally save me, If you in the rush, don't use this service.
The first ride was great. Made me feel like I'm in SE Asia in NYC. But the app stops working after I bought the 30-min pass and I can't book anymore.
App worked then crashed when I needed it. Uninstall/reinstalled. Tracked down 3 scooters, 1st was dead, 2nd: didn't realize that when it says "unlock helmet' that you have to walk thru the following 5 instructions steps before it will actually unlock the helmet, 3rd worked and was fine. The app could be tweaked to be more clear.
Was five stars, but now it is impossible to upload a selfie before riding, where it was never a problem before. I called it in and they said my cell phone carrier is the problem as reported by other riders. So find a workaround. Plenty of moped rentals don't require selfies, since as adults we don't need that level of supervision. And since the feature doesn't work on your end, kill it.
App crashes as soon as you try to verify your email address. "Oops, something went wrong. Please try again" pops up but fails each time.
I injured myself on an I'll maintained scooter and it's still broken and being rented out today, the app also does not let you find a scooter while in an active rental, which is only useful for getting one with range
Each app "upgrade" is buggier than the last. I enjoyed the service, but the app issues have made the overall experience unreliable & frustrating. The app regularly has "connectivity" issues requiring me to restart it or restart my PHONE to activate a reserved ride. But then, the reserved ride may no longer appear reserved or even available. Next wait on hold for 5 minutes for phone support. I'm trying to go to work or home. I'm a regular user, but that may change.
Signed up for the app today and everything seemed to work fine. Went to grab a ride and every time I tried to begin ride I was just presented with 'oops something went wrong'. Also, map stopped displaying any mopeds. After many tries including phone restarts I deleted the app and started again. Now I can't even log in. Very frustrating experience all round.
Terrible!!!!! All these scooters around and cant even be utilized because they keep trying to 'fix' the app that wasnt broken.
The app is clunky with a usability factor of zero. Can't access help to find out how to park. I had to restart and hard restart my phone to even end the ride. It took me 20 minutes to end the ride, and I probably got billed for every second. Theres nowhere to park. The scooter works okay, but their garbage app made the usability factor a zero. With an app redesign I'd use it but otherwise I wont be using it again. What a shame.
Bug and can't login No longer works as I can't get past the verification screen. The app just crashes in my phone tells me that the app has a bug
The revel started off as all fun and games. It was even free for us who worked in healthcare during covid. However, I have been having lots of small issues lately which makes using it as a means of reliable transportation questionable. Their customer service is hard to reach but that may be due to covid or the hours during which I call. Today my machine completely shut off on me in the middle of street, and to boot it happened to someone a block before. Dangerous. USER BEWARE!
I have a bad experience on my first rental but I think was my bad all along I dint know how to made work . but now that I figured out is easy way to get around fast.
Shortly after signing up I'm getting spam texts and calls (they sell your personal info pretty damn quick). Using the scooters is convenient until you have to park and realize there is literally no where convenient and you have to gamble someone else will use it so you don't deal with tickets and towing. Don't bother, just get the little standing scooters... way easier, slower, but easier.
Hi guys I used a lot revel but I would like to give you two suggestions, the first one would be amazing if you can increase somehow the pause / resume area meaning that the bikes with a non accurate gps would be a lot easier to resume when they show up 3/4 blocks away from where you are ( is the biggest pain that ive found so far about your company). Second one make a weekly pass! Revel Still a lot to improve but You are the present/ future thanks!
I uninstalled because they send you promotional push notifications ("You have access to Revel Ride share") at least once a week under the "General" channel. I don't want spam, but if I'm using the app I'll need to see their real notifications. So I'll have to reinstall whenever I want to use the app, go through the login flow again, and uninstall after. Revel developers, please send promotional push notifications under a separate channel, not "General". Then I can keep the app installed.
battery dies while trying to find parking
it took 10 minutes to find a parking space in the allowed area...too difficult. way to expensive.
This app is trash. When it works it's great riding the moped is fun. However, I only got it to work once. Everytime I try to reserve a ride I keep getting a constant error that says 'oops, please try again later.' so frustrating.
Spent 15 min trying to set up an acct, only to be told it couldn't process?!?!
It was absolutely great. I just felt that a lot of the mopeds were damaged in some type of way, mostly mirrors. Also I felt that the new update made it harder to report damage on them. Other then that my experience was excellent. I just feel there should be a hot line for people to call in and complain if they see reckless driving occurring, so they can give the license plate and the person driving can get their account revoked l
this is the coolest idea, and such an awesome product. its so damn easy to use. i downloaded the app, took a picture of my licesne, selfie, and within 30 minutes i was verified and now im able to ride these bad boys whenever. the mopeds have a decent acceleration, and go up to 30 (speed limit is 25 so i guessss we dont need more speed anyway :) ). pretty cheap, always cheaper than an uber, and sometimes even cheaper than the train for really short trips! very easy to ride with 2 people. love it
My first few rides were fine. Then, 4 rides in a row, I have been unable to take a ride after reserving it. In one case, there were no helmets. In the other cases, the battery was below 10% and the scooter would not start. In all cases I attempted to call customer service but got put on hold indefinitely. I got charged anyway, so I reported a problem in the app - no response. I sent an email and got an automatic reply but that was 10 days ago with no follow up. The most recent was the worst. I started the ride, but the scooter showed 7% battery and would not start. When I attempted to end the ride it said it was outside the parking zone, even though I had not moved it, so I had to abandon the ride. Calls to customer service are pointless - nobody picks up. Now I'm forced to dispute all the credit card charges. Once I've done that I'm deleting the app.

I've written about 6 or 7 times from lower manhattan to the upper east side and each time I get on a scooter there's a problem. They are badly maintained. I've had a few times where I've almost had to jump off the scooter because the break failed or the throttle jerks, or turning lights dont work... its always something.. and because of that I do not recommend unless your an experienced rider. I wasn't and I learn the hard way. They offer insurance but get private insurance just in case..
Does not support modern payment methods. I am not going to enter my credit card information into some random transportation app. This app should accept Google Pay or a competitor. Even the in-app form for entering credit card info doesn't use modern auto-fill standards, which gives me no confidence in rendering my credit card information.
