It's a great indoor cycling training app, although the app still seems to be in optimization phase but for me it stood up more than Zwift app in every possible way. Pros: has great graphics, smooth connectivity and amazing premium membership perks like the magic road. Would be great to see increase in number riders for group events and activities as it gets lonley. Cons: text size too small for the mobile app.
Updating my negative/ review to "good" upon discovering that most routes are available only to paying customers. That wasn't clear. Setup was easy on my Android box and Wahoo Kickr. My first ride went well. The graphics were a bit choppy but that might be my Android device - I'm using an Android box connected to a TV. I think I might become a paying customer and up my rating again if all goes well on the free side.
Love the free version, a little choppy on my tablet but works well with my Kickr Snap. I was considering premium but Wahoo's acquisition has almost doubled the price. You would be better keeping separate subscriptions. Systm already includes sufferfest. I will never pay $23 / month. $12 I considered for RGT only. Not now.
Crashed 3 times on Stelvio. I have samsung tab 7 fe of 500$. This should not happen. I am happy though that you can resume the workout after restart.
Changing from 5 stars to 2 stars. 2 app setup worked perfectly, never crashed for an entire year that I used. With the switch to standalone app, it crashes once per ride, whether the windows10 app is used or the android one. At least the ride is resumed, therefore 2 stars
There is no way– as in, it is impossible– for this app to change the trainer pedal resistance except to keep it at the wattage you set as your FTP.
Edited: My review feedback is incorporated. Plus, now we don't need two different apps for screen and companion, which is awesome... When there is a new update available for the screen app, it doesn't allow us to schedule the update to a later time. I had to wait to update it to start my workout. I'm totally annoyed by wasting my time early in the morning when I woke up just for the workout but ended up waiting for the app to get updated...
Works great, very motivating! Love the group rides and the ability to actually interact with people! Especially during this whole covid thing. I've ridden more miles this winter than I did last summer! Never have a rainy day!
The free version misses lots of the good bits from the subscription one, but it works and adds fun to indoor rides. Connectivity is a bit tricky to get working in the first place, but seems to be reliable when it's done.
Recent updates merging to one single app is great. It runs fine on my 8 years old laptop with medium setting. Graphics seem to be better on my friend laptop which is much newer and higher spec. Like the realism of the ride and able to choose different bikes.
No, the "RGT Remote" application does NOT solve the problem. I don't know what you are relying on when you say that. Next, it is impossible to decipher the application data, data for example at the time of deployment or details about the route.
The 2nd Feb update has solved a lot of bugs and issues, and it's back to being the best cycling app around. If like me you don't want a "gamified" cycling experience (you know who we're talking about) then this can't be beat.
Hey guys! You have to improve the simulation dynamic a lot!. I was riding a 4% climb in one of the smallest gear, 90+ rpms, and the trainer would only set barely 100 Watts, a few seconds later, the resistance was increased to 250 W almost instantaneously. Also, sometimes slope changes does not seem to change resistance at all. It's not a consistent experience.
Cheaper than Zwift and some good features but I've had a lot of connection issues with it. Very frustrating when you're in the middle of an event or workout. Wonder if it worth paying the extra cash for Zwift?
Looks the business, but can't get into the app. Unfortunately when I try to update the software (mandatory in app) it brings me back to Google play with no option to update. Hopefully it gets fixed soon!
Only used a few times but very impressed so far. Graphics are excellent and so is the scenery. Some good routes to ride. Love the different camera angles and the avatars movement on the road. Has a good feel to it. You can also ride your own routes via Magic Roads. Still a work in progress so get behind it and try it for free and it can only get better. Will revisit and up my rating asap. 👍🚴👍
Just had my first ride with an Ant+ dongle in my computer and the Android app and everything worked very well! Love the concept of controlling the application from the smartphone. The cycling experience is more realistic than in Zwift though there is still some potential to improve the graphics. I miss a workout editor but I guess this is a matter of time. Keep it up!
I like the courses and the feel of it. It's true to reality. I always have issues with completing roads. 3 attempts to get laptop and phone synced. It either sits loading on laptop or does not open. Then 3rd attempt I got the sync to work. 56 mins into Selvio it looses internet connection. 1 mile to finish. I was gutted. I had internet as music app was screaming still and I was able to browse online. I thought it was paused only. This can happen few times. It's unreliable in this case. I
Been using this app for 8 months. This is in development and has got better and better over time. The way it is built means it's easy for the tech guys to troubleshoot any issues. I really like the real world graphics vs zwift fantasy graphics. It has a great range of routes from the flat Borrego Springs to rolling hills and alpine pass climbs. Its user interface and connectivity is good once the ANT+ sensor is next to the trainer. Looking forward to the next release.
I've only had this app for one week. So far it has been awesome. I linked it to a spin bike, the Bowflex C6. The app does a great job of syncing with the spin bike. I have just been testing the free app to this point but will definitely consider purchasing the premium version. The C6 is known to have issues with inaccurate speed. This app seems to adjust back to more normal speeds and power levels at the end of my ride are consistent with my Garmin normalized power on my outdoor rides.
The service itself is good. Does the job. Good physics, average graphics if compared to Zwift. The main app is still very rough on the edges. There's some basic things missing, like accessing the training data in the app (or if it exists, it's not intuitive to find) and export to GPX directly from the app. Overall a good service and apps for the money. Will stick around in order to see the evolution.
Nice idea but still needs a lot of work. Very limited finished courses to use, all magic roads look the same with the same scenery. Unrealistic looking hills, look flat at times. Very glitchy, difficult to get into events, power dropouts on Bluetooth connection that never fails in zwift. At the end of the day its free to use if you want and a good start, still feels very much in Beta though. Amazing helpful community that run everything themselves gets it up to 3 stars, some I know love it.
This is not a dig just wsnt to make the developers aware. I have tried to set up an account on 2 different Samsung tablets. One with a 4:3 super amoled screen and the other a wxga super amoled screen. Both have part of the screen missing where you are able to click on create account. If you want new subscriptions I would think this is quite important. I'm not criticising the app I haven't got there yet. Would love to try it.
Great app. Great graphics, engaging interface, and easy to use. And free to boot. Just need longer roads but that will come. Add: Just joined the premium after getting over some teething issue with my setup. Really enjoying version 2 of the Magic Road. Wish the 3-hour limit is extended soon (still rebuilding my endurance & hope it's a real limitation by the end of year), there's a horizontal map view superimposed over the vertical profile so I can tell where I am, & the bots slow on descents.😀
Still a substandard app. The app continues to be difficult: doesn't automatically pair with devices and doesn't recognize Wahoo Kickr as a cadence sensor which is now enabled on most other apps. The App controls the screen app, but doesn't allow leaving full screen mode so in case you want to change your music, you need to exit the app. Finding events is difficult as there is no filter option. Not sure why such simple improvements are not incorporated (given paid subscription).
Did not like the recent update. Since the update the program drops a lot during a ride and a race. All sensors drop out. It was extremely frustrating. We have using this app for some time and never had so many issues. The program randomly turned me around , at one point I was looking into my own eyes. It was funny and creepy but mainly frustrating.
After bkool, Rouvy, Fulgaz and Zwift I now landed at RGT. To me the best of all so far. I am using it with my Wattbike Atom and the integration works well with realistic gear and resistance changes. It would be great to see a gear indicator on the screen as with Zwift and Fulgaz and I hope this is in the development pipeline. Also, structured workout plans are missing and would be good to have. Other than that..., A great app!
