Used to love Ride Austin. The past few timesive used it they give times where it takes the driver significantly longer to show up, the app doesn't update and the drivers are non responsive. If they can fix these issues I would love to start using them again.
I have come to use Lyft over Ride Austin. The app crashes consistently. The drivers are never on time, and the rates have skyrocketed over the past months. It's sad to say bit Ride Austin can't compete. They have lost what made them (customer service). Now they are not much different than a normal ride share app.
Used to love this service, but lately the app is just broken. It has some server error and can't even load. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and it didn't work. Hope they fix it soon!
Can't even use the app. You open it and it just sits on a black screen with #rideaustin and then eventually just give a network error. If you hit retry, you get the same results.
i love the concept of RideAustin, how well it treats the drivers while goving agfordable rates, and how it emphasizes the nonprofit aspect by offering to round up rides for donations to your favorite nonprofit. Unfortunately, i have had to stop using Ride Austin because of how unreliable it's rides are. It regularly takes 15+ min for a driver to arrive even when gps shows some nearby. Also I have repeatedly had drivers bail on me when close or had no one accept my request at all.
The app never works for me, whenever I try to enter in an destination it will never accept it. I always get an "Experiencing technical difficulties" error.
Super great. App always works very well, the drivers are always great. All of the fare except for $1 goes to the driver. I support a local TNC, not ones that lobbied our local Senate millions of dollars to come back to Austin. I prefer to #ridelocal.
Would love to keep using this and reward drivers, but the fact it's 20 to 40 percent more expensive for the same far via Uber or Lyft, AND takes longer to get picked up, it makes no sense to continue using it. Was great when Uber and Lyft left town but now it's clear they're not reinvesting in the platform. Good luck.
Can't even use the app. It says something is wrong with the network (even though other apps and pages work fine) and I can't progress past that.
The app doesn't work period. Launches and says network error even though i have signal. Don't bother downloading.
it cost me way more than what Iber or Lyft would have. WAY more. The driver also didnt end the ride immediately on arrival. instead kept talking with the meter running though she was sweet, and i dont mind talking, but dont charge me for it. End the ride first...
Had a driver that was a reported 3 minutes away, but he never showed up. App tried to charge me $5 to cancel the ride so I could get a different driver who would actually show.
Great drivers, but the app gives a lot of unnecessary notifications with no way to turn them off. I only want notifications from rides I take.
Great! Same ease and use as the corporates, but local, nonprofit, and supports local charities. They also cost less and pay their drivers better. Why use the big names that do less for the same service?
The app doesn't work because Ride Austin has suspended operations. I hope they come back; I appreciated them as a more conscientious alternative to the other rideshares.
had a problem with a few drivers but ride austin didn't respond. i ask them to delete my account and still no response. i'm not going to use this service any more.
I love Ride Austin. The drivers are always great, and usually a higher end car because they get more for the fare!
Ride Austin is the cats pajamas - great drivers, and the company treats them better than the other platforms. Super ethical operation for passengers and drivers.
Incorrectly identified my 15+ year-old phone number as a VOIP number and refused to let me register. Also did not provide a means to request support after blocking registration.
This app is far from perfect but it's a great way to get more money into the hands of the people who drive us around. Let's be honest all drivers are on all platforms. So why not put more money into their hands then a rich corpation who isn't even based here.
Lousy app experience and ride service. It's always a longer wait than other services if they even eventually pick you up at all 😑
The app stopped working altogether. Won't connect on my android and I can't sign in on my iPhone. Grade A trash
Great app. Gave more money to the drivers than the big business apps. However they have been shutdown and not reopening as of june 2020
It's as convenient and useful as Lyft or Uber, but local to Austin, which means getting to round up and help area non-profit orgs
App does not work. Always displays error message regarding incorrect network regardless off what network you are attached to.
They charge you a different fare after the ride is complete and it's 2x the original. A bunch of thieves!
I tried to get a time and cost estimate for a ride in the app. The app scheduled the ride without providing the cost or asking me to confirm whether the information I put in was correct and I wanted pickup. Worst part is there's no way to cancel / reschedule a ride in the app. Very frustrating I don't think I'll be using Ride Austin app anymore!
