Sorry to see this company go... as a driver it was nice to be treated like people, and be valued as in our life, car, and our finances. Uber started something great in the beginning, it was awesome, riders happy, drivers happy, then that 3 and 4th year... cut, cut, cut...I actually paid uber to drive for them the last 2. 5, 3 years... ran car into the ground... no profit on uber x. Oh well... thanks for the ride RideAustin! Good luck.
Very useable app. Practical and intuitive.
Easy, quick, and pleasant.
Much better map application than Uber or Lyft. Non-profit saves passengers money
Want to try but I cant sign up. There is only a sign in button !
This is a great "Keep it Local" option.
Well it keeps telling me to sign in and there's no way to do that or to even make a new account
Great Driver App, Only Can't Text or Call my Riders 😕
Non profit and roundup benefit local community.
Best rideshare in Austin, hands down.
I really like it. It's help to the community.
Best Rideshare in Austin at the moment.
Ride Austin pays drivers the entire FARE minus .99 cents compared to Uber & Lyft who keep 20-60%! Use Ride Austin! Be FAIR to your driver!
The Android version of this app (the one I am reviewing here, as opposed to the iPhone app) is lacking in one important feature; to wit, it does not appear to have a way to select the default navigation app. Somehow, I ended up with Waze but I would rather use Google. In the iOS app it's one of the choices under "settings". In short, it appears that this app is optimized for iOS, not Android.
Best rideshare platform in Austin and the entire country. Ask for it in your city. Nonprofit rideshare model, keeps $$ in your local economy and pays standard class drivers 100% of the fare minus a .99 cent fee.. No more 20-30% commissions that U/L deduct regularly. AUSTIN has found a Uber/ Lyft alternative that offers safer, least expensive rides to locals and visitors and still pay highest rates to drivers. App is very much user friendly as the design team used the generic look of uber to make user transition effortless. Ability to " fav" drivers, request a "female only" driver, connect directly with a fav driver, schedule ahead with your choice of driver. Above all that, RideAustin requires all drivers to obtain a city chauffeurs license which provides fingerprint background FBI checks that provide the conmunity the highest standard in rider safety.
This "app" is a joke. You can just look at some of the names to these 5 star "reviews" to see what's going on.
I love it
App sometimes acts up during trips and cause phone restart itself. Hope the Tech support will look into it.
RideAustin drivers are now mandated to obtain City of Austin Chauffeur permits. This enables them to continue the promise to keep riders safe by continuing fingerprinting and FBI background checks. If any driver is involved in something serious with law enforcement, Identigo notifies RideAustin, and driver is immediately removed from platform. Ride Austin has made great improvements to their app by adding a 'Female only Driver' request mode. They've added more women to accommodate women who feel safer with a female driver. In addition, they have allowed riders to create their list of favorite chauffers with the 'direct connect' feature and by paring. This encourages a building of community. Anytime your favorite driver is online and 15 minutes away, you can request him/her. Drivers now pay $0.99 per ride and a minimal transfer fee to be paid.
Loved ride austin
Is there place to sign up???????
It won't let me log in, there isn't a "make account" button. When I try to login with my facebook account, it keeps saying that my Facebook account doesn't exist.
Ride Austin it's the best ride share in Austin love it
Top choice in Austin now.
Great app and very fast
As a standard driver I pocket 100% of the fares for my time and mileage. Unlike the other rideshare apps operating in Austin, I do not pay a 20% or more commission to Ride | Austin to drive for them. No one else is profiting from my labor, which means more of the income I earn from this secondary job goes right back into the Austin economy when I spend my 'fun money'. I really like that. The cherry on top, Ride | Austin was the first to let customers round up their fare to donate to a charity of their choice.
So far so good! Missed the slide to arrive feature, just when I was getting the hang of things.
Best rideshare in Austin. By Austin for Austin. I'm a driver and this is the best app for getting around Austin by far.
