Ride Companion for Pro Drivers
You know you need to log your driving activity, but you now have the option to log everything electronically with the simple touch of a button. Don't rely on these companies to do the logging for you or provide you with the information you need at tax time. You are a partner / contractor for them and legally they owe you nothing but a payment.
So take the frustration out of paper logs and log it to the cloud using Ride Companion.
Currently drivers are able to log all of there activity. Including mileage driven, time spent driving, how many trips they have given for that day and over a life time of driving.
What it does now:
-Find and message other drivers securely with out divulging your personal information such as Facebook, email or phone numbers.
-Displays your rides on a map showing the route you took how many miles the trip was and how much time it took.
-Drop pins to mark locations of interest
-Drop pins to mark pick up locations while on a trip
-Miles are calculated using your GPS or by manually entering mileage information from your odometer.
-Saves all your driving logs locally to your internal storage or SDCard as well as online (using backup features)
-Print your reports directly from your device (Requires Android KitKat or Higher)
-Find other Ride Companion users online by checking in to the User Map
-Share your trips with anyone by sending them a screen shot of your map
Future features could include many things but for now it is a tool drivers can use to log the time and mileage they need to use during tax season. Yes all those miles you put on your car and the time you spend driving for services is all tax deductible so it needs to be logged so you don't over pay the government when the time comes.

I do Uber and Lyft. This app is fantastic. It will do most of the work for you. It's not perfect and it will malfunction from time to time. From my experience it works about 90% of the time, 10% will not. A quick restart to your phone will solve the issue. If you can get pass that, you will love it. All you have to do is turn it on and watch how it opens uber and lyft. Once you get a ride it will turn off the other app automatically. It's awesome! To the developer: great job man, 5 stars from me :)
So far, I am very happy with Ride Companion app. It is not perfect, as there were times it accept a ride on one, it doesn't turn off the other. But then on the next trip, It will work again. I do not know if connectivity has something to do with it. But since I use split screen all the time, I could just easily turn the other off manually. Overall, it is a big help. I use it all the time now. .
used it for the first time today. had 20 trips. twice it didnt turn off the app that didnt get the trip and twice I had to accept the trip manually. the only things I wish the reports would do is in addition to the tally of the total miles, is have a tally of the miles for each individual app. also i'd like to see a tally of the daily earnings (total and for each app)
Been using this app for months, Lyft updated then app went crazy. Wrote my issues to the provided email and all issues were perfectly resolved, now it's almost doubling my rides once again, simply amazing. I literally felt like I was handicapped when driving without Ride Companion, now the world is right again, can't live without it. Love the watch ads for credits feature, very fair. Five stars all the way!
Not bad, but needs work, better instructions. Some referenced settings seem to be missing. NOTE: RC's 'default' filters for ALL apps CAN contradict app-specific filters. Enable/disable each table as desired. Worked much better once I noticed/corrected this. Even then, some trips accepted didn't fit filters. In fact, only trips BEYOND, not WITHIN, set filters were auto-accepted. Incrementing max distance filter (0.4 mi, 1.2 mi) and allowing for flat surge pricing ($2.25, $4.50) would be awesome.
Works great most of the time, but occasionally will glitch and not turn the other app off. Also after you accept a trip, while its turning the other app off it animates it instead of navigating you, which takes about 10 seconds. This can be a problem in traffic knowing what direction you're heading.
used to love this app. worked perfect about 90% of this time. something happened and it wouldnt work right all weekend. would open uber, but not lyft. if you manually put lyft on, it would turn it off like normal, but would not turn back on. also, uber will not turn off!! have to restart the phone to get it off (possibility a problem with the uber app itself?). hopefully can get some suggestions because really do like this app when it works properly
This has been a good app. how ever i have found 1 problem that mite make it less then a 5 stars, if it cant be fix. Everything works just as it should except it does not turn lyft off and on. Giving credit where its due it does try how ever the maco that runs to turn lyft off, is hitting just a touch to high and needs to be dropped a hair. because when it tries to start or stop lyft it is actually hitting my notifications bar causing it to try to drop down. I have a note 8
used to have no problems. doesn't work with the new Lyft app, and registers as "offline" when I'm actually online, causing problems with turning apps off (ie Lyft online after ride, wont turn Uber on. I push the circle that is green, it turns Uber online (status circle is now red). I push again, it does nothing. in either circumstance, does nothing with Lyft). very frustrating app. never had these issues before.
This app is wonderful! If you drive for a living you shouldn't be without it! Hats off to the developer, home run!! 💖 Update: After many attempts, RC no longer works! It doesn't turn on Lyft and won't let me shut off Uber. i can no longer use this app and it's a real shame because it was so great before. If you fix these issues I'll return, but until then it's completely useless.
I've purchased the app so I don't deal with ads but, the main reason I used it was to automatically switch between Uber & Lyft driver apps. It quit automatically switching back and forth between rides. So now it's worse than just switching between apps myself because it will sometimes open the other app during a ride so I then have to cancel our ignore the ride. You have to download their version of Lyft which can be finicky at times. Used to work great but now, not so much.
Thought it was a good idea until I wanted to stop it but while driving and wanting to keep one app online, it constantly kept popping up a notification not only distracting me but interfering with what I was trying to do While Driving!!! Not ok!! Then went to shut it down after home for the shift and automatically put me online and a ride request came in forcing me to have to cancel the ride as I was home and done with driving for the night. Uninstalled.
The permissions that this app asks for are ridiculous, and the explanation is given by the dev are inadequate. They don't need access to contacts to get my email address; they can just ask me for my email address. Besides, in-app it says it wants my contacts so it can target advertisements, which, what?? Further, they offered no explanation for why they need to read all of the text that I type on my screen, including credit card numbers.
Love it when it works... But it would randomly just stop doing some things until recently when it started crashing every time I try to enable Bind_Accessability_Service and go back to the home screen. Was awesome while it lasted, though!
Lately, the Uber app has been unable to go offline when toggling between riders. It goes back and forth..offline then online, then offline to online again. It very frustrating when the RC allows both Uber and Lyft to send a ride simultaneously. I have to restart my phone in order to continue.
This app is great. It takes care of everything for me . I don't have to mess with the apps while driving. Ride Companion takes care of it so I can focus on my driving. I did just have an issue and he responsed so quickly and my issue is fixed. Awesome!!
Sometime it works sometime it doesnt. very inconsistent app. sometimes it switches rideshare apps back online without telling you and you end up getting simultaneous requests that u dont want and it hurts ur acceptance rate etc. very laggy at times to switch...sometimes its heaven sometimes its hell...one star. just too damm moody!
Easy to use. This app, as long as you RTFM, works awesome. My only con, is that the map on the Lyft app doesn't work to show you hot spots or even use for navigation. It's blank. Otherwise it works great! Love it!
UPDATE!! The issues below were solved quickly after I left this review. I have updated to 5 stars for great customer service and fixing the issues!! App worked great until recent updates. now it will not turn off the apps. i turned off uber and Lyft manually but RC must have turned them back on, so today i have to wait 6 hours to drive. not to mention what it did to my acceptance rates and score.
It's pretty good and pretty easy to use. Very reasonable amount of ads for the service. Two options I would like to see are being able to have the app search for scheduled pickups in Lyft, and add GrubHub service to the app that it supports. :-)
works good other that there are still a few glitches in that it sometimes doesn't shut down uber. it would also be nice to push the same button to pause or turn off the apps for when you need to take a break.
Modified Lyft would not load navigation Just stayed on loading. Does not work with built in navigation. Also watched a commercial and said I earned 25 credits but still reports only 10 credits. Last thing no way to tell it not to accept scheduled trips. This cost me a cancelation.
hasn't worked since Sunday for me, it logs into uber, logs into lyft, then stops on Lyft and never goes back to uber. so I simply check the RC app and sure enough the icon to turn on is still red. I have reset and made multiple attempts since Sunday with each update and nothing. this is a great app but right now it seems lyft is breaking it or something I dont know. dont take the 1 star personal, I'm on a galaxy s8+. will update the review when and if it ever works again.
very well done, especially considering it's just a guy making it. it sometimes does not successfully push the offline button for Uber. I do wish it incorporated doordash and instacart if possible. Thanks for the work you do.
App takes way too much time switching between apps you can literally do it manually faster I also found out when navigating with Lyft when you reach your destination and it goes to the Lyft app from navigation app it turns lift off and you lose the request I have been driving for Uber and Lyft for 2 years and I personally don't recommend this app.
Only giving it 3 stars atm and will update if it gets better. Reasons for this is it worked pretty well at first but now it's not automatically accepting the trips and also have had to manually turn off the apps from time to time. Can't wait to work through the issues with support. All the other features are working well. Still need to give it more time and will update. I really love the concept of this app over all just need to clean up the bugs and then I will write a long term review.
