Updated search function is horrible. Like a step backwards. Why would anyone think this was a good idea. Giving less control. I can see nothing on that map view. Just a bunch of overlapping routes. The old function left a lot to be desired but just needed filters. This needs to be replaced.
Elevation Is WAY Off. This app worked so well that I even purchased it, but this season I ride identical rides and the elevation is terribly wrong. I can ride flats and it will say I climbed thousands of feet! Distance is correct, maps look correct, but elevation is messed up. Thinking about quitting this app if a different one works. Disappointed.
This review is for the free portion only. I was interested in knowing the functionality of the paid version and did watch several YouTube videos. I had further questions and emailed support twice with no response whatsoever. This leads me to conclude that they have no customer support. I see ridewithgps's response. I have a screenshot of 2 emails sent about a week apart. No one answered or attempted to answer (as you can see below they say they never received the emails).
The Premium route planning is fantastic. I've been using it in Mallorca and it's easy to use and generally quite accurate. It occasionally sends me down one-way streets the wrong way, but that's about all I've got in the way of complaints. The audio cues are good, and everything works as it should when navigating a route.
Clunky and resource intensive. I paid for one month of this app exclusively so I could download a route with points of interest and export the gpx filewhich is paywalled. On longer routes the app lags and is unusable. It's lacking a lot of the features that other free apps have like OSM Android (a great app). Having bike packed/ toured close to 8,000 mi there are much better offerings for free. Every other biketourer I've met has been disappointed with this app and switched to something else
Would be better if app warned user of power saving mode BEFORE user attempts to record a ride. Other than this one minor issue, I really LOVE this app and recently subscribed. I use both the android and ios apps to plan routes and then sync them to my Wahoo Roam. I use my phone with the RideWithGPS app in offline mode as my backup navigator.
Good app, but in the planner if a trail doesn't touch another trail it will go back 5 miles just to connect to the new trail somehow. Would be nice if there was a feature to draw a line to where you want to go.
i bought the Premium edition, i find the move useful when planning to fix the green dot & way points. on My ipad the planner just crashes so i only have a PC & Android app to plan with. i like the OSM CYCLE as it really shows the infrastructure, but German map Verlag Esterbauer in Biefeld has ipad / iphone app for their intensely detailed maps
For route planning it is head and shoulders above the rest and great analytics if you know where to look. Segment creation is sadly poor. My go to cycling app along with Strava, but Strava is awful for mapping and planning and I don't really bother with Komoot anymore.
A necessary feature, ride-clean-up, is locked behind a premium subscription. It you forget to stop your ride or forget to pause when getting on a ferry, train, etc., you should be able to edit out those segments. Nope. A feature that they could enable for all customers is available only if you shell out for their most expensive plan.
Really good app for planning cycling and walking routes and sharing with friends. Easy to use with plenty of routes available if you want to use someone else's route. Can download maps and save routes in various formats to use on GPS devices.
Very pleased, I am subscribed on basic plan and use it 3 or 4 times a week. Everything and more I could want. I am an engineer and love data, so this feeds my need!
Well thought out with lots of useful features without being complicated to use. Really helpful when exploring new areas.
Easy to use, has a comprensive map library. I stopped using that other app, RWGPS is my go to. Directions make rides more efficient and fun!
click on my rout for the day and it goes back a page. Can't open routes. conflict in a setting? everyone else in group is ok. Android.
Very good. I really like the route planning tool on the web or phone. It is a bit harsh on battery use though. Automatic rerouting for navigation exists but not intuitive when riding - had to contact tech support for explanation. That said the response from tech support was super fast
I use a few mapping apps, but this one allows photos to be uploaded. Plus, it can be used to map kayaking trips.
Love this app. No need for a separate bike computer. Like that I can plan my routes on my computer, tablet, or phone. Syncs great with my Garmin Varia.
Best app for discovering new routes in a nice and easy way. Nice experience overviewing in the explore tab! 👍🏽
Great app for creating routes for riding. Love the new mobile route planner, works great, congrats on the feature. However I'd be great to have a feature similar to Komoot where I can indicate the type of surface I'd like to ride - the automatic routing often puts me on MTB trails when on my road bike, for example. Keep up the continuous improvement and good work!!
