Used twice with great results. The 3rd time... I reserved a cab to LAX the night before my flight and the driver never showed up. The app doesn't provide any details on estimated times and. However, cabs within the vicinity are visible. So it seems the drivers aren't interested in accepting fares that are 25% off. Bye Yellow!
great idea, along with a promotional 25% off, but because of a mix up of cabs (2 turned up at once for two different addresses) my cab drove off, and would not respond to requests to call me through the app, and now my app is telling me my card details cannot be verified even though they have been on file for months, no promotion for me. app is garbage.
I love this app and depend on it, but it's currently (for several weeks now) functioning poorly, not showing the car's progress on the map or the ETA, which makes it hard to time getting oneself together to meet the cab as it arrives. Pretty sure it's the app, not me. (Liked it better when it was cheaper, too, but I'm still glad it's not Uber.)
Not the uber replacement I hoped. Told me not to use the app. Said there was a meter but I couldn't see the price in the car. Then wanted me to pay cash. Felt like the old taxi days. Seemed upset that I didn't have cash and had to restart the machine for me to pay credit. All of this added time and was $10 more than the same Uber I take several times a week. I wouldn't mind paying more for an alternative but it needs to be equal quality or better. This is why I stopped using taxis.
This app used to work rather well when you first got it about 5 or so years ago but now there is no map and the driver cannot be tracked. Also it takes a long time for the ride to be accepted. I've had the screen finding your driver and then all the sudden a cab pulls up and I had to cancel the ride. And also the drivers here in Broward Co FLdon't know how to use it to begin with. You have payment in the app and the drivers don't know how or don't want to use the app want pymt up front.
The app finally has a map so you can see cars, which means you can watch people close by refuse to accept your rides. Booking rides for later is the same. Time comes and goes, no taxi comes to pick you up. Don't be fooled by the affordable prices. You'll just have to book an Uber when they don't come for 3 times as much and be late to where you were going.
App is easy enough to use. The map when locating a driver seems to need some work done to it. I requested a ride several times. Each time I waited for an hour or more and not ONCE was a driver ever assigned to come get me. They give the drivers way too much freedom to pick and choose.
Sorry but i cannot give this app a higher rating and although i may continue to use it i refuse to endorse or speak highly of it. The app is well outdated. This has now been a 4th ride. Upon requesting a ride it takes anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes to even find a driver. Sadly, its less fuss and faster for me to take a bus. Even in a metro area.
Booked a ride for after a concert, waited over an hour after our scheduled time, and still no show despite countless "rideyellow" vehicles appearing in the app and physically driving past us. Canceled the ride after 1hr9min of waiting. I'll try to have my screenshot attached of their "update" communications.
I'm rating the app highly because I get great drivers and I can always get a cab. The truth is that the app sometimes has glitches, I've seen, and I know they are working to improve it. For example, I can now rate drivers, but I have no record kept where I can see which drivers I rated highly.
Horrible app!! My driver showed up and I agreed to pay in cash. But after the ride I noticed they also charged my debit card. I have been unable to get the double charge corrected.
the app has a flaw. when I setup a pick up at future date, once I select destination, the option on bottom of app is request ride. once you select it, you get a reservation made confirmation, followed by finding your driver for pick up now. come on. it's for a future pick up. NOT NOW!!!
Once you enter your ride information and get pricing it opens a window for a map but never shows one oh, it doesn't give you any idea of where your ride is or if it is enroute. If you wait long enough eventually a cab may show up. It has often taken an additional 2 to 3 calls to Yellow Cab in order to confirm whether or not a ride is scheduled and existsfor you.
Credit card expires Mar 2025 (03/25). But now that it is April (4/21) it says my card is expired and won't let me book/pay in app. No contact information in app so who do I call to get this fixed? Otherwise, it is good for getting rides.to airport.- always reliable, but you can't book or pay with app coming back from the airport, so you have to pay full price. Or use Lyft/uber.
Do Not put you credit card info here!!! I tried to set up payment, didn't go through, so I wouldn't get the 25% promo discount. Moreover, after using this app, my credit car was hacked. So many charges in my credit card from random people that I never met. I hadn't use my credit card lately, only at this site and thats what happened.
Yellow taxi will never be able to deal or compete with Lyft or Uber. I tried ordering a yellow taxi, I tried I really tried waited 5 min for app to find a driver, there was not one available. I got a lift in seconds. It's really unfortunate that I have to use ride sharing and we don't have a taxi service in Los Angeles that's actually effective, how sad. 😥
No longer works. This app does not work properly, the map never displays anymore and the service is pure garbage. You set up a pick-up time and they show up late which means get to work late.
I recieved a call back within 4 minutes of reserving a ride, to me I enjoy this app because a card is not required, huge weight off my shoulders, the app leaves me an option to save specific destinations if I may so please, also I I like the fact that the driver calls me to confirm the ride other than having to search up a phone number.
Booked an early morning ride to the air port and received a confirmation. The time for our pick up arrived and after 10 minutes with no cab showing up, I called to check the status. The customer service rep said they were still trying to find a cab. Well, why did I get a confirmation?? Skip this "service", it didn't work.
There is no radio button for wheelchair service. I didn't appreciate getting a call from my elderly mom telling me her can didn't show. When I called customer service representative couldn't tell me why the ride was cancelled. At last minute the driver came to cancel informing me I had to select the wheelchair radio button, which by the way isn't on the app. I do add in the notes it's wheelchair service required. I use the app because it's the only way to book a ride to pay in advane.
I would like to give RideYellow Can 5 Stars. But the only frustrations i have is not to see maps and how long the driver is. And what they look like. What plate number. Technically you have to place a call to know your driver basic informations. If they can improve this issue people are to be more comfortable to use it.
Totally unreliable. Show up late to set pick up times, if it all. I regret recommending this to friends. Just today i was told the ride they requested never showed up. If you have to be anywhere on time don't use this app.
Technical issues aside (and there are some) my last driver berated and demeaned me for using the app for a 5.00 fare. For the duration of the ride he told me the app is for people going to the airport, that I shouldn't waste their time going such a short distance. He went on and on. When it was over and I wished him a good day (because I'm incapable of being discourteous) he was too rude to respond at all. Back to Uber.
Haven't used the app yet, but I tried the calling experience. The automated voice call was pretty good, took my pick up and drop off points and everything. However, I wasted over 30 minutes of my time waiting for that damn cab. The estimate price was pretty good I guess (to me at least), $10.75 for a mile and a half drive. Terrible service. My patience is A LOT and it takes me a so much to grow impatient, and well, this service accomplished just that.
