Ringtone Keeper

This program keeps a pair of matching "the contact's name = the ringtone".If you use different ringtones for different contacts, then flashing the phone or when you change your phone you have to re-install all of these ringtones to contacts. With this program you can make a backup of your installed ringtones and then if necessary, restore them to the new version OS on your phone or another phone.Data is stored in plain text file, and you can view, copy, rename, edit.The file is located on the sdcard, the directory is named ru.smithson.ringtoneKeeper, file is named ringtones.keep. If you need a version of backups, then you can optionally rename the file, and then to recover from it
- rename it back to ringtones.keep.The program identifies the ringtone to the absolute path and the contact
- to set name, surname and patronymic. The order of the names of contacts defined on the device are not important.

Ringtone Keeper made a quick backup of the ringtones associated with my contacts and I saved the file on my external SD because I had to do a factory reset of my Droid Razr. Upon re-installation of the app, it said there was nothing to restore, so I moved the file back to the internal storage in the app's data folder. Now, when I select Restore, it just says the app has stopped working. But, it gets two stars because I opened the file in Notepad and was able to use the information to manually restore the ringtones. Bummer.

Backed up to SD card on one phone, pushed restore on new phone, got error message. Same problem several times.

This worked well for me on my last few devices. No more. Galaxy S7 edge just won't keep ringtone and this won't restore them. Sad.

...but if you keep trying, it usually does. Saving is always OK - try to restore immediately after a reboot. Avoid media names with special characters. Apart from these manageable bugs, the app is a huge time saver!!

It would be better if you could schedule restores when booting, updating, or at a certain time per day. I would pay a small fee for this if needed.
