Since im newbie here, it is easy to level up there's a lot of helpful free stuffs that you can get by completing the task's. In this game you can do a lot of things than other clash games, this is the best game for me so far. Its neither play to win but fair enough to purchase some to support devs. Things will get harder when you level up, it will be more strategy but fun. And i really like the storyline their voices, characters, scenes its so creative. 10/10
I left clash of kings as it hogged more space than my elderly tablet possessed . Rise of empires is very similar, but looks better and doesn't take up so much memory. That said, it costs more if you want to buy developments, and you can't get past a certain level without paying. It also seems to be taking up more memory now that I've played a while.
It's fascinating to guide your developing empire through its growth. It does become a bit of a repetitive exercise of just upgrading buildings without actually having to solve puzzles or challenges requiring serious thought. I do find it disheartening that exorbitant amounts of real money will have to be spent in order to obtain characters and things needed to play the game to completion. That's not in my budget, so it won't be happening. I expect to become impossible.
As someone who has been playing for over 2 years and invested way too much money already: the game is definitively heading farther and farther into pay to win. They release more cosmetics that are only unlockable after spending a thousand or more. No actual true luck involved even though that is the way its advertised. Up until season 2 or 3 you can do moderately well as a free to play if you invest a ton of time vs money. But after that it's a steep climb you will never come close to the top.
This is an interesting, (and adictive), game very similar to other games I've played of this nature. Learning it takes a while because there's no really good instructions for some things. Also, like all games, there are certain things that are really usefull that can only be obtained by buying them. Beware; however, make sure you have protected yourself against losing your "local data"!!! I lost everything after MANY hours!!! I like the graphics and the way the game is setup. It's worth a try.
This is an ok game, but very much still pay-to-win. It's possible to advance your castle and army upgrades to where you're competitive to others, but it will take a huge amount of time. A lot of resources and upgrades are very expensive to purchase with real money. The game play is average, it's only in portrait and not landscape mode so that's somewhat annoying. Some players have spent tens of thousands of dollars in this game, so there's no need for the devs to do anything different
I've been playing this game for just over a year I think. It can take time to get up to a good standard and learn the ways of the game. I dont p2w, some do and ultimately that's their choice and yes you'll never be able to compete with them. I see some reviews complaining it takes a lot of Rss to upgrade, but once your get to a good lvl those issues become less and your power up a lot more. There's also lots of hints/tips on YouTube if you feel unsure on something or want more tips
Have been playing for 2 years, quitting the game. Pure pay to win but worse. Devs give cheap packages to certain countries. When all province competition starts, you get destroyed by these cheap package countries. There is no way to compete unless you spend thousands of $ to try to keep up. The main purpose of the game, to battle in a multi guild map is pointless as these power countries destroy anyone in their path. They have played the game for a much shorter time but are twice as powerful.
Such a fun strategy game. The tutorial is really tedious, but really doesn't last that long. Wish they would add a skip button for it. Definitely a challenge to not spend money in game, but it's doable if you're diligent. Overall, highly recommend
Pretty cool game so far. Update: The game is very interesting, but it will eat up your time. I don't want to HAVE to stay engaged all day everyday. It started getting stressful, because I have a job that demands my attention during the day, and a family to spend time with in the evening. I was constantly scouted and attacked on down time.It turned from fun to stressful real quick. Cool game... as long as you don't have a life.
Crooks. They promise you rewards to get you to spend your money, then they take back or change the rewards after you have spent. Totally illegal and disgusting for a well funded game. I made a purchase, and received the items advertised, only to return to the game 24 hours later to find the items switched to lesser items. Then, to make it worse, when I asked for a refund, they took even more from me. I have all the evidence and screenshots. I don't recommend giving these guys one dollar.
Rise of Empires, so far (maybe an hour in) it's not disappointing. It will become very tempting for those with "buying into the game"... be patient with games like this, you can still enjoy the game regardless. Graphics are top notch! The involvement with your village is pretty cool. Going to press on in my journey. Hope it continues to get better. One small issue I do have. A landscape option would be a nice feature. Good job thus far guys. Keep it up!
I would like to rate it 5 stars but, Ihave several problems in the game, 1. Sometimes cant build a wall. 2. It would be better if the game is in landscape. 3. You can only buy luxurious items by real money. I will rate the game 5s if the issues were fixed. Im adding another problem (6) instead of increasing my charcoal is decreasing. Please fix it.
5+ minutes and it doesn't move on from the black login screen. UPDATE: Devs replied saying to give it another try using WiFi instead of mobile data (which I was using the first time). I gave it a second try and, after some 10 minutes, it loaded a background, then a menu, which froze. At that point it had been 15 minutes and I closed it... BUT IT WOULDN'T CLOSE! This is the only app that has completely frozen my phone. I uninstalled it.
Just started but fun...update..changing 5 stars to 3.....It is pay to play for sure if you are wanting to be competitive in the first year.....there are many however that don't spend very much . This past year they have gone above and beyond updating the game and graphics. The new white crow feature however force closes the entire game when you try to attempt mission #2 every single time without fail . Also the drop rates for perm skins is redlicious.....1.4-1.8 never won one yet doing events..
Worst customer service in any game I have ever played. Often they don't read the question and answer the wrong question. Game glitches and buys wrong item but they will never fix the issue. Only twice in multiple attempts has anyone been helpful. Once they told me multiple times I was lying only to realize after the third or fourth time they were wrong. Then they said they added the missing exp but it was so far later I don't know if it did or did not.
** Down to one star because you just downgraded the world castle design (after last upgrade) without the option to choose between both! ** Basically just for the rate reward! It is just another pay to win game... Still you can have fun if you improve your strategy, have a lot of patience (a lot!!!) and find the right people.
I am unable to switch my account. Everytime I try the app crashes. I have sent several messages for assistance and not even one response. Very poor customer service. Seems like a waste of time after investing hours in the game and then unable to continue... Just awful.
Fun game very time consuming. Everyday that passes this game gets more pay to win. Used too be able to keep up without spending a lot, now all the cosmetic upgrades keep getting better buffs. They are chance based so can cost over 1k for just a castle skin. Changing my rating form 4 to 2 stars no longer recommend this game to anyone unless you are well off financially and nothing better too do with your money.
I wanted a mobile RTS, I got a microtransaction simulator. A Real Time Strategy game is about making quick decisions to advance faster than an opponent. For example, when you upgrade your base to the next tier, you aren't waiting there for your base to finish, you are making many other decisions while that time passes. In this game, Rise of Empires, there are a lot more upgrades and types of buildings to create than you would typically find in an RTS. There is also in-game currency that you can spend to decrease upgrade time. With these features, this game is less of an RTS and more like a mobile farming simulator.
