Helpful app for whilst in hotel with all the information needed that works well on my low spec/old phone.This was a welcome addition to my Riu experience as I was also able to see availability and book a la carte meal via app too, very useful.
Awful app. Online check in is full of error messages. And trying to send a message to support also gives an error message lol
Is this app always freezes. If you're checking prices or you're trying to book your hotel or just look at anything concerning your account it locks up and you are constantly uninstalling and reinstalling it. It's very annoying and I'm not even sure why This app cannot be developed more efficiently for the users.
It's just an app for booking, decent map of the resort and general info for service provided. You can't confirm spa or dinner rsvp. The RiuFun agenda changes with no updates. Wish it was similar to the Hilton App where you could even use the app to open your hotel room.
this is a sad excuse for customer service. the app does not work very well. links do not connect..even when I am on your unsecured hotel wifi.
Waste of time contacting RIU on this app or by email because you never get a response. I cannot edit my account, change my email or other details without telephoning Spain from the UK and being on hold for a long time racking up a large phone bill. Shame on you RIU
Embarrassing. The welcome survey is equivalent to "hello world" and throws an error when you complete it. NOT user friendly and seems very bandwidth heavy.
Booking App Only! Installed this to see if it would help at all as a first time stayer with Riu, but it does not have any way to book dinners, check on resort status, explore the nearby area, or anything specific to my trip. App works perfectly fine but my advice would be to simply use their website instead for all the same functions. Hope this helps someone!
After reading the previous comments I was a bit dubious. Yes it did not work and just froze, but uninstalling and downloading again fixed the problems. Restaurant's booked OK 👍
Won't allow me to sign in and changes language so I can't understand anything. No option to select uk as a country of origin. Total waste of phone space
This is without a doubt, the single worst app I've ever used. That's not an exaggeration. This is useless. They beg you to use it at the resort, all so they can be too lazy to do their jobs, and Literally nothing works right. Not a single thing.
Keep trying to put my booking details in every time comes with error please try later been going on for 2 months
Updating my rating as there is in fact a way to change the language to English. After you select an option, it's in the top right corner. Thank you for your reply!
This app use to work great now it doesn't. What happened? When I try to click on a specific date (i.e. 27) it selects the day before (i.e 26). Then when I try to search, I'm constantly getting an error "It has not been possible to process your request. Please check your internet connection." How is that possible when every thing else internet wise is working on my on phone. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app and it's still the same. Now, I have to use the website to search.
This is my second review, the first one was very uncomplimentary... However I persisted without trying to use my existing RIU login, and all is fine. Can access hotel information and book restaurants with no issues. Hence the much improved rating!
My issue with the online check-in has been fixed and i've been able to complete the process. The hotel advise that it may take up to 24hrs for it to appear ln their system. This is maybe something which can be worked on for example instant updates on the reservation system and the online check-in functionality of the app. Looking forward to my stay at Riu hotel. Thank you for your quick response.
Just gets to be frustrating .App simply does not function properly, constant "error" response. Won't save any info. Every session requires re-typing all reservation info only to get a " not available try later" response.
No clear back button. Schedules sometimes represent activities in other countries (per employees), activities listed are often wrong. No descriptions. Missing info like closures and spa offerings. Sometimes stops working completely.
App doesn't work. It hasn't for weeks. Seems to be a known issue. I am confused as to why it isn't fixed yet. ** I have installed, Uninstalled, installed again and a survey pops up asking me to rate my experience. Then it freezes. No way around the glitch.
I am so appalled by your employees that work the Tenerife in Spain. I felt that they don't like skin color. Moreover, you need to train your employee properly. You don't scream to customers. I will never go to your hotel. We can from Miami be treated professionally.
In RIU Boa Vista..entertainment is painfull to watch.
The strength of this app is when you're at the resort. I tried the early check-in on my last trip and it went great. When I arrived they had an envelope ready for me with my room key, towel card, Covid test instructions, wifi password, etc. I didn't have to fill out a ton of paperwork. I also used the app to order additional bottles of water and they came the next day. Not bad. I love how it tells you which restaurants are open and what shows are happening the following week. I'm happy.
While the app looks good it's absolutely useless as majority of the services on the app don't work or dont work properly. I can't even scroll to see the complete message in a queries. And I have had to call for any additional services because doing it on the app is a waste of time. Riu looks like you literally just threw this app out just to have a app.
Tried to book a hotel but it would constantly denied the transaction. Contacted the bank and they said that they checked and the problem was with the site. Send queries that were left unanswered. Call center not helpful. In short the app is useless to book anything.
App wont launch. Stuck on splash screen. Was happening on previous version, so i updated to latest. Same problem. An app that can't be used at all is basically useless, and deserves 0 stars... Update: most recent version is working normally.
I have just installed this app on my android phone and immediately hit a major issue, I have to enter my Riu club number and password to gain access to the app. This is a massive inconvenience because I then have to hunt down these details. It would be far easier if I could use my fingerprint to gain access like other apps on my phone. Would you please advise if this is possible. If not, I will have to revert back to the Riu web site where these details are stored on Google and auto primed.
I called reservations to help with understanding this app and the points earned however i was told they are not trained on using the app nor do they know about the points summary. This is useless if I can't call the reservations line for help with my points balance questions. I am being told since I live in the US I have to pay to call international for help. This is NOT a great customer friendly app!! I am highly dissatisfied.
This is great! I love the hotel food and drinks! The only problem is the WIFI because it seems to not connect which is kind of strange.. But still, the hotel is great! Oh and the entertainment is great! I always attend the show at night.
The app is quite handy while at the resort. Opening times, menus for everything. Since there's a lot to choose from it is good to have all the info at hand!
