I had an issue where my Samsung tablet kept saying "No internet connection" even though other apps were ok and it worked fine on my phone. I contacted the developer and he fixed the issue over the weekend. Great service and a great app. I have also contacted him in the past and got rivers added to the list. Rather than giving negative reviews its aways worth contacting Florian if you have a problem with missing data etc. I have several other river level apps and this one is by far the best.
A good app. I haven't worked out whether the levels are proportional to the river's maximum, or for kayaking grade. I suspect the former. It would be cool to be able to add notes to the gauges to record what levels you've paddled them at for future reference.
I really wish I could rate this higher, but it's very inconsistent. Sometimes it will not update for days. The way the data is presented is so much easier than the USGS website. If the app worked all the time I would absolutely pay for the premium version.
The only real downfall is that I've upgraded to the paid subscription but am only able to see the river forecast on a less then half of gauges and the ft3/s is missing on a small number. I do volunteer disaster response/relief and initially downloaded the app during Hurricane Sally because flooding was a major concern in multiple gulf coast states. While it's easier to utilize then NWS, that's valuable info regardless of the situation. I did find all current gauge info to be up to date.
I paid $6 for a damn river gauge. I really hope you make an udate allowing the mapping out and saving of river routes/trips. Being able to mark out islands/stops on a river, save it and return to that map would be really really nice. Please hire someone that can add this feature for you. Google maps isn't very effective.
Paid for the preimum version and added river trips. What a waste of time. They were never added. Don't buy unless you like paying for apps that arent updated or maintained. Just stick to the free version.
Not sure if it's my phone or the app, I suspect the app. I get alerts about the river level which don't match up with the levels I set. Then seem a little random. Going to uninstall.
Now features I depended on are locked behind a pay wall when the app already had ads.
have been using this app for years with no problems until the last few months. My local river tweed doesn't show any data anymore as i use it for fishing.
i have a few of these apps. I like this one the BEST. As a fisherman this is important data. Its available anywhere but this is delivered in a good, easy to use layout. Very nicely done
Perfect for me, just wish it would lift the river levels for playing ;)
Good info and interface but the white outline font on the gauge is hard to read and there is no settings menu to customize.
If you want water depth and flow rate for the USA just Google usga water data, that has water gauges and flow meters on rivers and creeks all over the US. For free and you can look at previous water readings from up to a year ago Free.
Worked great for like 3 years , now everytime i open the app it crashes , ive uninstalled from my phone settings and installed again over and over.......does the same thing......i used to use this app daily
Nicely laid out interface, easy to check river levels and to compare over past 12 months.
No additional information on any issues to the section. - shows current water levels with a time stamp some are out of date by a few months
I like the app but me being a new angler I have no clue what ft the rivers hit flood stage... if they could add an option that shows what levels are flood stages that would be great.....
Bought the $10 premium app on my old iPhone. Switched back to Android and there is nothing they can do to restore my original purchase. Gtfoh
Finally, an app that shows stream flows in Ontario. I really like the alarm feature.
It's got a lot of info not all sections on rivers covered though and tomany rivers have the same names. Also alot of White water centres haven't been added.
While probably great for kayakers, only provides cfps, which is unhelpful for sailors. Looking for current in knots for larger rivers like the Columbia.
Great so for what I wanted, tells me local River height without checking internet. Widget for favourites would be great. Well done.
This app was great, then my phone updated. This app now crashes every time I look at any rivers or gauges..
Can only get 2 days of data unless you buy "premium". Can get all the info on USFS quicker and more detailed.
River App Premium worked well until I switched phones. Now won't work and I may have to sue to get my account back. They are aware of my issues and won't fix
