Road ID

Junk, trash, garbage. The original version worked, sort of. Cannot let it run in background. Stops as soon as another app is opened. No automatic start or stop. No option to turn off the no motion alert. If riding with a group i like to turn off the alert. Old version had that capability! Get it righr guys! Update. Most all the problems have been resolved and I am using it regularly. Great job !! I like being able to customize your starting and ending comments. Thanks!!

The newly updated app falls short of the previous version. The update deleted the notification list I had, and reduced the number of people from 5 to 3. So, fewer people that can be notified in case of emergency. Also, my first time using the update I was 1/2 mile into my run and the alert goes off, so I have to quickly dig my phone out of my running belt and unlock it before it sends an alert to my contacts. Okay, I'm not fast, but I was moving at a 9:30 pace. Bring back the last version!

I have had this app for years and loved it but since the upgrade last week I have been unimpressed. First, once I updated my user ID and password I couldn't get logged in so I had to create a new account and lost the history. Second, I had a handful of hikes preloaded which is no longer a feature which is really disappointing for me and my contact people. Third, I can't add myself as a contact to make sure the message really went through. Bottom line, I like the old version SO MUCH BETTER.

Update2. Please remove the requirement to access contacts. Permission is unnecessary & intrusive. App won't work w/o the access. Updated review. After reinstalling the app I was finally able to get to the login screen. Tried to log in and got a message that my email doesn't exist. I've been using this app for years so how is that possible?? I'm so disappointed. An update shouldn't cause so many problems. How were all the problems so many of us are having not identified and fixed during testing?

The initial rollout was pretty shakey! However, over the course of the week I have seen steady improvement. Previous version had become a comforting companion, so not sure why it was messed with. RoadID is a reliable and great company to do business with, so I am confident they will get things worked out.

As with many others, not happy with new version. I'm aware you're fixing bugs, but why did you roll out the update without some lengthy beta testing to begin with? Do you realize how frustrating it was to be in the middle of nowhere and have to sign in to the app - which I couldn't do because I don't carry my password book with me? I ended up having to create a new account. Stationary alert went off when it shouldn't have. I couldn't add an email contact. And now the app won't even open.

What has happened to this app..? It was great until this update. Now you can't select an email address to notify and my wife's install won't send to me, as a Guardian, when it worked perfectly before. Uninstalled and reinstalled.... won't work. Recreated my contact details .... Still won't send. The SOS function doesn't work either. Yet if I use her details as Guardian on my phone then it works fine, as does the SOS function. Permissions are the same on both phones, both running Android 11.

I used to love this app. I ride horses and it is great to have ecrumb for my contacts. But- the stationary alert activates too soon and try manipulating an app on a fractious horse that also just got spooked by the alert. There should be an icon for horse riders and we could use a one button pause ability to stop alerts and ecrumb. If not why not just design a horse app there are thousands of us riders who need one that matches our specific needs! I don't like the reboot very much at all.

I uninstalled RoadID with the idea reinstalling it would fix the problems I'm having with it. Before doing a reinstall I happened to look at the reviews and found that others are reporting the same problems. What a major bummer. My wife and I use RoadID a lot so now we're going to be looking for an alternative. Update: On June 11 2021 I got suckered into installing the latest version & currently it's a POS. What the hell were they thinking when they released this garbage?

Update to review. After my last review I found that I could email the alert so my wife can watch my progress, this helps plan the day. Now after the latest update this option for contacts has been removed. I recieved an email stating they are working to make it better but it keeps getting worse. At this point I should just remove it. Not sure why they would take something that was working fine. The email I got said something about text not working in other countries. But I am in CA

Eureka!!! I was discouraged after using this app from almost inception. I was recently disappointed when the upgraded app did not send notifications to my wife or she to me. With the help a lnd quick response from their developers and feedback team they resolved our lack of notification to our loved one. My wife now is back on board and is reloading the app Thank you ROADID Run and ride safely with Roadid Gary W

Great app up until I upgraded to a Samsung Note 10+. It no longer works. I've been in contact with Road ID. They seem like they want to figure it out. No solutions yet... ***review update, I did what support told me to do and the app seems to be working again. Thank you for the new information.

Used the app on another phone for 2 years+. Worked well, I experienced no problems. Now, having replaced my phone with a newer model, the app keeps stating that it will only work on an older version of Android. It appers to work, though, but I suggest you issue an update for newer OS.

The app doesn't work alot of the time, and tries to open on it's own. This all started within the last few months, and even after uninstalling and reinstalling still the same issue with Android. Come on Road ID get your act together!

Utterly shameful that this STILL doesn't work right after months of issues. Every ride shows as zero miles and I'm not tracked. Love your product, but if your app developers can't sort out the problems plaguing this app, I'm going to rethink where i spend my money. Yes, it's a free app, but i used it because i believed in the company and it's products. I won't be renewing my MyRoadID account until this is fixed. What a disaster.

I would suggest taking down this version and bring back the previous one. Ive attempted to update it as suggested in the email and nothing has changed. Milage and time are still way off. My history has not been updated and the graphics are terrible.

The setup process in Android gets in a loop if the option to read / accept the Terms and Conditions is chosen. Redirects you to a web browser -I chose Chrome- and after closing that tab, the system just keeps on taking you back to open a new tab. When selecting the 'I Accept' option, an error pops up indicating that network connection issues are experienced, which this comment confirms my device is not having.

New updated app. Email from road Id says to create an account. But I can't because it's now frozen on app setup- enable permissions. It's stuck. Can't back up, won't move forward. Grrrrrr Update:. Problem is fixed and app is working just fine.

Not nearly as good as what it replaces. I don't like the fact that I can't enter my own start message or store completion messages. The pause feature is a great addition though.
