Roadie: On-The-Way Delivery

Say hello to Roadie, the first on-the-way delivery network. No matter what you need to send, chances are there’s a Roadie who can deliver it same day, next day, at night or even on weekends. It’s a faster, cheaper, friendlier way to get your stuff where it needs to go.Hello Roadie. Goodbye mail fails.Left your keys at the office? Need your golf clubs in Charleston this afternoon? Roadie drivers can lend a helping hand, for about the cost of gas money. Think of it as carpooling for cargo. No need for boxes, tape and packing peanuts. Roadie lets your cargo ride commando. It pays to be a good neighbor.Roadies get paid for driving to the places they're going anyway. Senders post Gigs with details and pictures of their items and drivers choose the ones they like based on location, price, sender ratings and reviews. No bidding or bartering. The Roadie app makes it easy to get paid for doing good.Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

I really really want go give it a 5. Because when it works out it's fantastic. But the problem is it's very rare that you get a chance to do something that lines up. In addition they dont allow posters (like airport) to combine jobs. Therefore as a driver you have to hope they give you all the ones that makes sense and make trips worth it. And then there are too many restrictions that wont allow pickup of something that currently far but at the end of first route. Fix those and u get 5 stars.

Good concept, but customers need the option to tip. Its also crucial to be able to see your actual rating number, not just an amount of stars that are either fully, partially or half filled. Deliverer is only able to rate the company, or business that facilitated the pickup, not the actual customer. So there's s big double standard there. I did 3 trips at once (over 100 miles) and parked at airport once to pickup all bags. I had to choose which customer to charge for parking reimbursement.

Neat app. There are tons of bugs, one main issue is the tolls, you have to submit a copy of the tolls in order to get reimbursed for them, which is a huge pain, and to add to this issue, you are supposed to submit the receipt of the tolls upon completion of the gig. Another issue is customer service is hit or miss as to whether you will actually get someone when you call, or it will say, sorry no one is available to help you right now. -edit* downloaded the beta app, it looks promising

Until recently the app was working great from a drivers point of view. Was easy to view and select gigs. Not sure what Mr Fernandez's point was on loading toll receipts because it couldn't be any easier. You get a toll receipt and take picture of it. Super simple. However, the last few the app has become extremely slow and unresponsive. Today alone I lost out on close to $100 in gigs because of the app and or the gig approval process. Please fix these issues and upgrade your systems.

All of these delivery/service apps tend to be a dime a dozen and appear to be all the same: flashy graphics with zero substance. The map never worked, all I got was a blank screen. There's no way to input your starting destination, so you just get a list of nationwide gigs and hope that your close to one, I guess. As many have mentioned, this isn't an app to make money steadily, it's for someone that happens to be on a road trip and match up with a gig.

Rarely get selected for any gigs. App does not offer a breakdown of our performance so we know how to improve and increase chances of getting selected for gigs. When i do get selected and goes through tolls that money will never be accounted for and lose it. When uploading receipts and the amount, it is also a waste of effort as you will not see that refunded either. Roadie has a lot of potential but needs more improvement than it is effective.

It does not shoot me notifications for deliveries in my area at all. I have to constantly check the app for delivery opportunities. All my setting are set correctly too. So until I get notified of deliveries this app is useless to me. Was told to find a gig and do it then the system will start shooting notifications to me. Well I see them close then when I click them someone else has taken them. If I would of been notified like it says it does that wouldnt happen.

(As a driver) Rates are too low for the timeframe specified ... senders should just use USPS/etc! No way to limit area to receive alerts from ... zooming the map does not stick & quickly reverts to sending me alerts from across the country. Need a way to filter alerts which pay less than my personal threshold ($9 for something which will take more than an hour is just not worth it). Also very annoying to get new alerts for a previously posted gig with a new timeframe.

Good opportunities HOWEVER.... Your ability to get more than one offer while delivering is abysmal. For example I was just accepted to start a gig for a pick up in a certain Home Depot close by and there are 5 others along the way need deliveries to be made and yet the app will not allow that because the application's algorithm doesn't see the logic of the logistics.(Which is a bunch of 🤬)

The setup and layout of the app is great and that's it. I've had the app for a week now and haven't been able to get a gig, even if the gig isn't on my route I'm still going to give it a try just to see how it is but nothing pops up which according to support "the gigs disappear really fast" now I'm not going to call support a liar but the point is there is no gigs even when stay stay on it for at least an hour or two and I'm not going to stay on this app all day long staring at the screen if that's what's expected to get gigs. Some people say "them not having enough gigs is not their fault" but in a way it is because this app is just not well-known enough, I think if it was, you would have more people using it thus more gigs. This app needs more promoting, and maybe have a deal for senders first delivery which of course would come out of Roadies creators wallet. If they did these two things guaranteed this app would be more successful, I know it's easier said than done and promoting cost lots of money and so is giving people deals but you have to make some sacrifices in order for it to succeed. But it is what it is and this is my rating till it improves.

Used to love this app,. As a full time traveler, it could be very useful. But now a single feature has resulted in me writing this one star review. The client used to be able to pick the driver as soon as the request came in--or whenever they chose. And now Roadie chooses the driver for them. This completely complicates the process. As travelers, we are often wanting to accept gigs that says pickup asap, as we will only be passing through that area for a brief moment. Now Roadie not picking the driver clearly able to pick up a load and not letting the customer pick them either--frustrating to no end! All I see in the "questions" section is frustrated customers and drivers unable to start the gig on their own terms. Things sit unshipped for weeks and drivers pass by unable to connect with customers. Please change this ASAP and I will go back to using your service with 5 star enthusiasm.

I used to get notifications for all jobs around the county i live in and the next county over. now i get nothing. The same thing has happened to others in my area as well. Would love to keep don't roadie gigs but guess after awhile you stop getting notifications for jobs. I already checked all my settings and notifications and everything is on. I'm being told there had been no gigs when there has been every single day. I only know about them because i happen to click the app as see them up.

I love being a Roadie! Driving the gigs is a great way to make extra income and the app is user friendly. However, the company is still VERY small and getting in touch with someone on the phone is not always easy. I'm hoping to see the development of a live chat to get in touch with the pit crew (customer service) soon!

Started out ok, but I haven't been able to drive any gigs in 2 weeks. There is only one consistant company posting gigs in the entire city for the past month. The notifications wake me up hours before I need to be up for my normal job, which would be ok if I could actually get some of them on occasion. Overall, I am rating this 2 stars simply because there isn't enough work and the app seems more of a bother than worth my time.

I accepted a gig and made arrangement with the sender for pick up time. Roadie automatically gave me a 1 star for not picking the package up within 60 minutes. i reached out to support and explained the arrangements and asked if the rating could be changed since it was a mutual agreement between me and the sender, i never heard back from support. Very disappointed i was ignored by Roadie.

My experience with the Roadie app has been wonderful. The app tells you exactly what to do and the support is always helpful. I've only had a few instances where something went wring but it was handled quickly and efficiently. I would recommend the app and the gig to anyone.

Kyl. R. Jan 8, 2019

App needs work. For example, profile picture won't stay, and pictures of gigs usually don't load. Service needs more volume (more gigs and more senders). On the bright side, sometimes gigs appear near me that I'm able to snap up (but other drivers usually get them).

Overall a great gig to work for. Draw backs you offer to drive and are close and they give it to someone else who has more experience yet it's the same thing you have been doing.. pay takes a week mostly wish it would have instant access but hopefully soon. Besides the pay and the not giving you the gigs for experience would recommend.

It was fine until app had me stuck between accepted start gig and delivery in progress, I was never able to leave the start point upload pics and I was stuck in a loop. I couldn't accept new gigs. I tried contacting support for almost an hour no one avail. So I couldn't confirm if I was obligated to this delivery or not and since I'm stuck in the loop I can't receive any new jobs.

I have been been constantly turned down for gigs no matter how hard I try to offer to drive. I was not getting any notifications for months. And just as I started to receive them, I was told by support to bid on one to see if I get accepted to assure that it was back working, I sent an email to you to cancel my offer to drive. It went ignored and I had a message saying that I was removed from that gig and given a 1-star rating. Totally unfair! I Don't have time to play games with you guys! This has not been worth it at all. And it seems you've removed the phone option so we can't talk to support. That makes for horrible customer service!

I am giving this app 2 stars, they payment process takes forever. I was told a computer system picks you for the job, i have like over 40 some ratings on my account. One day it was like 6 delivery jobs came in and i clicked on every one of those jobs and i still didn't get picked for neither one. They really need to switch some things up.

Awful! I needed some thing fairly small picked up and dropped off by 11:45 am. The order was ready for pick up at 8 am, giving a nearly 4 hour window to drop a package 40 minutes away. My driver never even picked up the package AFTER the deadline. The driver didn't answer text and had a full voicemail box. The support service team was alright. They tried to get me a new driver but it didn't work either. Hoping I can get a refund. TRASH!! Just use uber or lyft instead.

The best alternative way of having almost anything delivered anywhere in the US, safely and effectively without using postal mail service , ups, or fedex! If you love to drive this is a great way to make extra $! But remember it is an "on the way app", you pick up gigs in the direction you are driving to.
