my wife bought the Roadie 2 for me for Christmas. I have absolutely fell in love with it. I still use the ole hand crank to wind and unwind but it is the best tuner I have ever had. It is spot on every time. the battery on it is ridiculous. I haven't charged it since the initial charging. here we are 2 months down the road and I have only lost about an 1/8 of battery life. I use this every day!!! The app is user friendly. Customize your own tunings, reorder them on the scroll. A++ all around.
Works great. I have over a dozen different tunings for guitar and ukulele. Easy to use. My few problems were speedily taken care of by their tech support. They are the best. Highly recommended.
Total rubbish. It won't hold the Bluetooth long enough to sync and you have to switch it on and off a dozen times to get it to link. There are no proper instructions. The tunings you make on the app will transfer to the roadie 2, but will not work - all you get is the error buzz telling you it is out of range. Very very frustrating and disappointing. If you're downloading this app then you have either wasted your money on the main product or you are considering doing so.
UPDATE: I got a Roadie 2. It worked brilliantly for less than 2 weeks, then broke. After some miscommunication, they offered me a Roadie 3. Nice gesture.. thx. It finally came today. It took some doing, but I finally got it to sync with my phone. I can't say if it's better than the Roadie 2, but for the short time I had it the Roadie 2 was awesome. I have to explore the new features. It tunes my 12 string Martin effortlessly, and can store multiple tunings. That's why I got it. ;-)
The UX looks old not particularly friendly. I think it needs a revamp. Two things I would change if I had the source code 1. When the runner is connected it would use a wizard to guide you through the process of calibrating and make it clear its the fist step. 2. Would add an option to switch the headstock from Gibson to fender style headstock.
Updated the app from my Roadie 2 to allow for a new Roadie 3. Now both tuners don't work properly and the app crashes constantly. Opened a trouble ticket with Band Industries almost three weeks ago. No response. Second ticket, still nothing. I've just about given up hope that they stand behind their products, If my experience is commonplace, I wouldn't count on any help from them.
Totally disappointed,... everything went decently well until I tried to change capo or tuning.. after that time nothing has gone right anymore... I try to create a -2 semitone tuning, or change the capo to -2, the tuner sets the guitar to -1 instead, I try to bring it back to normal, it removes the 'b" from the note symbol on the display, and yet it keeps tuning half a tone below... it is completely out of control... I even tried a hardware reset by putting a pen tip on the hole, and even a factory reset from the option menu... Both the app and the firmware are up to date... the phone is Samsung S10+...I just gave up and put it apart...
App won't run at all. Crashes 3 seconds after starting. Glad I tested the app before buying the $80 automatic tuner! I'll be buying another brand! Edit/Update*: Unfortunately the behavior regarding crashing is still occurring, even after the update. I have a screenshot, but can't figure out how to attach it here
My tuner was working perfectly until this app. I guess its been updated. It completely trashed my tuner. Stuck on it's 'be patient synchronising' display with a red led. Will not switch off or do anything, looks like a factory reset and losing all my tunings.
Sometimes a bit slow to start tuning and with a lot of noise on stage it sometimes goes quiet and doesnt do anything, but great having access to them all.
About 2 months ago, the app would connect to my roadie bass but would not allow me to update so I gave up. Tried again today. Now it won't connect to the tuner at all.
Roadie Tuner has a nice app. Still needs more whistles and bells, but it's a very good way to interact with your Roadie(s). Includes having multiple Roadies remembered.
Awesome tool for players. Now you can change things in seconds and get it right from the start. wonderful for songwriters and well. I absolutely love it.
Absolutely horrible at the moment on a Pixel 2XL. Constantly loses internet connection. Dropped out when updating my Roadie 2 firmware and has bricked it. I love the Roadie 2 and Roadie Bass, but this app is infuriating.
It was so weird like it went between "too flat" to "too sharp" like fr that is rarted and I have to pluck my strings hella hard in order for it to hear it. I've gotten another tuner app that works hella better than this.
I had bought Roadie 1 I thought this is neet. Then I bought Roadie 2 and thought wow. Now I have Roadie 3 and I thought this is really fantastic. The evolution is really astounding it's perfect. You must have the Roadie 3 even if you are an experienced musician. It's truly amazing.
Edit: something is broken. Cant log in eith facebook. It cashes the app every time. Great Product and a great app to support it. I'm very impressed. And the Android app wasn't an afterthought. Thank you.
Was great but since last update app won't open and stops working. UPDATE. Latest release has fixed issue. Very prompt response
The Roadie tuner and app is a great way to tune stringed instruments, especially those with more than six strings.
I dropped my usual tuner off stage during a set. And luckily I had this app on my phone. Only took 30 seconds to tune up. I love this app!
Still rubbish, go round in circles from calibrate to tune, keeps telling me to make sure roadie is on tuning peg. This was a waste of money, quicker using tuning app on phone.
App features work fine, but on default bettery settings it used up 39% of my battery since last charge, even though I haven't opened the app since last charge or reboot. Will try restricted battery settings before uninstalling. If that works out with no feature loss, this would bump to 4 stars, I suppose.
