Used this app with my oldest child and it worked awesome. It was user friendly and helpful. Have been using it again with my second child for three days and it has been horrible. Doesn't track time well, the milage is way off, and stops tracking in the middle of some drives. Please fix the problems and bring back the app I loved so I can use it with my two younger kids.

Unusable. It won't allow entry of multiple drives on a given date. No matter how many entries I make for a date, the View Driving Log only shows the most recent one I did. It appears to be just modifying the previous entry instead of making a new one. I really wanted to do these log entries on an app instead of paper but this is unusable.

It's the recommended app for the State of Pennsylvania. Problem is, it drops in the middle of a drive (I'm guessing because of network drop...we live in a rural area) setting things back to zero (so my son's time is probably MUCH higher than it says in the app, but we'll never know). The other thing is that, while I get the emphasis on visibility issues affecting driving during weather events (rain, snow, fog, etc), there's no "other" category for high crosswinds which are at LEAST as dangerous.

Had to knock it down to 1 star, 0 would be more accurate. Start a drive and it won't continue in the background. Almost a good idea poorly executed. Interface is horrid, dark text on grey background is impossible to read. If the app would actually work and log the drive as we're doing it we wouldn't have to deal with the eye strain, but after driving for 2 hours the app says 0 miles in 0 min. At least it asks me if I want to save it.

It has helped me maintain notes and time accumulated. I don't use 'start a drive'. I use the 'log previous drive' and do it after each trip. There's more than 1 road type, there's parking lot, rural, urban, major & highway. Allows enough note space to cover what my son learned/worked on. I don't know how critical "miles" needed. I had to use my maps and edit each drive. We've covered as much as can. Weather elements & sharing road are by chance. Hope it exports well. Will see

If you just use it as a timer whenever you drive, it works fine. The app suffers from some design flaws, however. The text in menus is hard to read when in dark mode. Logging many past drives at once takes considerable time because ads are displayed after each drive is logged. There is no way to exit the "save drive" screen without saving if you accidentally start logging a drive. These are just a few examples. I feel that this app could be much better with some basic design improvement.

This app is helpful but not great. We've only been using it for a few days and I've already seen some glaring issues. First, I often get error messages when trying to save trip information. This app is supposed to make it easier and faster to track student driving but that doesn't happen when I have to take screenshots in case it crashes and try repeatedly to upload information. I am grateful that I don't have to remember to bring a notebook each time we walk to the car, or fish through dozens of texts to find the ones we've sent back and forth with time and mileage info. My biggest issue is that there is only 1 option for the type of road you traveled. I cannot imagine many of us only drive 1 type of road unless we're driving around the block. I drive on a neighborhood street and a highway just to get to the nearest grocery store! I also don't like that it doesn't do any tracking of safe driving habits - speed, short stops, etc. I can try to remember patterns in my son's driving habits but having actual data to show him goes much farther (and doesn't rely on my hazy memory). We live in the mountains, so driving up and down very steep roads, especially very twisty s-curves, is a particular challenge that new drivers here face and this should also be somehow recorded. Even if things like safe driving habits, handling mountain roads, and transitioning from various types of roads isn't something that the DMV feels needs to be tracked for their needs, it helps us be better teachers for our kids. If we can easily see where they need more practice and work on those things, they'll be better drivers (and we sorely need better drivers!) My final criticism is that the ad pop-ups are just obnoxious. I'm not using this app for fun, I don't want to be advertised to.

This app was helpful for awhile, but I cannot log a previous drive if we forget to turn it on for a drive because you can no longer change the date. It also does not accurately measure distances, and stops recording the drive if I turn my screen on for any reason. Very frustrating!! I also can't share what does exist of the current log with myself to print it to take it to the DMV.

Cat. R. Jan 19, 2022

Flat out doesn't work. I open the app and start tracking a drive for my teen, and when she'd done driving I go through the steps to save the drive to the log. When I open the app the next time I get a message saying that my previous drive was not saved. Every. Single. Time. I've just started manually recording drives in the log, and don't even bother with the tracking portion of the app.

This app truly sucks! I started logging my daughter's driving time on paper and thought I could log past dates/times on the app, but nope. I have the option of changing the date, but it doesn't actually change the date. Thought I could just put the date in the notes, but then noticed it wouldn't save more than 7 entries. I'm assuming that's because everything logged as the current day. I'll just continue logging on paper.

Mae. M. Feb 26, 2022

I was recommended this app because it was supposed to make logging my driving hours easier. Things were going smoothly for the months ive used it until I went to log a previous drive and it wouldn't change the date. I deleted and re-downloaded the app but the issue now is that I cant get back in and it wont send the email listed a password reset link. We've sent a number of emails to support and haven't got back an answer. This sucks because I just got to my hour requirements.

Mic. P. Feb 15, 2022

This is a lot easier than keeping a notebook and adding the time every week. Two things I would like to see would be bad weather tracking and an option to pause the drive for errands. It seems silly to have a series of three minute drives when a pause function would be less annoying.

She. W. Apr 18, 2022

Used this a few years ago with my older child, and had very few problems. This time, with my youngest, this app has been horrible! Not loading, dropping drives, not saving, hanging. I just want to get it to open so I can download her previous drives and do the rest on paper!

Jer. J. Mar 24, 2022

The texts aren't aligned and the confirm password is off of my screen to the right. It's telling me it's not the same but I can't see it to see if there's another letter over to the right. So i can't even create an account. And the button for " send me email with tips" is also off the screen to the right so you can't click it. Screen rotation doesn't work either. Useless if I can't even create an account!

I have used this app for multiple drivers. It was a good experience until the last few weeks. Very glitchy and doesn't save time drived. I have to go back and manually put it in. Very annoying to do every time it's used. Get this fixed and would be 5 star.

A. G. u. Jul 26, 2019

The app makes it easy to track driving time, but there are definitely improvements needed. The user needs to be able to select multiple road types.....almost no drive is ever limited to a single road type. There should be a pause option. Many times, especially at the beginning, I had my son stop driving so that we could discuss something....there is no way to stop the clock....it is ridiculous to have to stop/end the drive and then start a new one....maybe multiple times for a "single" drive.

A. G. u. Jan 12, 2020

The app works great for the most part. It tracks time spent driving as well as the distance driven. It automatically separetes day and night hours and takes note of the weather and road conditions. However, there is a bug in how drives are logged. If you end and save a drive while not connected to WiFi, the app displays an error message prompting me to try again. After I connect to WiFi, it saves without an error. However, the driving logs shows that the driving log is duplicated.

Bre. M. May 30, 2021

I've only used it for one day, and it already crashed and lost one of the two drives for this day. I ended up just adding it manually. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence. ||||Update: After using this app for one kid a year and a half ago, I am now using it again for a second child. Still seems to be the same crash-tastic version it was the last time I used it. Half the time, the app won't start when I open it. It just opens to a blank white screen. I have to back out of the app and try again, which sometimes work. A fun, new bug is that while the app is recording a drive, if I happen to pick up the phone to look at another app, then go back to RoadReady, it ends the drive, and wants me to save. At which point, I just have to save it and start a new drive in the app. So, a single drive with my child might be split up into 6 or 7 or more "drives" on RoadReady, depending on how many times I picked up my phone during our drive, having to tell the app to start a new drive each time. || Another update: I hate this app so much. Just dropped it down another star. It's just plain terrible. I wish 0 stars was an option.

Lin. R. Aug 26, 2020

This app isn't working so well for us. First, the app ends drives if I open it during a drive. So I have to start a drive and then be sure to open another app on my phone. I can't look at the app during a drive, or see how long the drive has been. As soon as the app sees light, it ends the drive, which leads to my second problem: The app freezes constantly, at the end of drives, before recording it. My poor son has more than driven all the hours that he's required to drive before getting his license, but the app freezes up and then doesn't record the drive. The one star is because it allow you to track two or more drivers. Edit: After seeing the developer response regarding Android Doze, I've adjusted my phone settings - we'll see how it works now.

Mic. F. May 7, 2020

After using this app for about a month now, I got used to it. Changed my review to 4 stars. If your screen goes dark - it still tracking your driving. Don't try to wake your screen by pressing the power button - it stops tracking, at least for me. Just unlock the screen and you will see the timer going on. Original Review: Stops working every other time. Doesn't estimate the driving distance. Our 30 minute drive got saved as a 3.6 miles. Terrible app. The developer advised to adjust settings to enable location. I wish I could get to settings. I do not see them in the app's menu. And the worst problem is that it stops tracking when the screen goes off.

Gre. M. Aug 28, 2021

Echo the comments of all the other frustrated users. The app ends the drive if the screen goes to sleep. I spend more time trying to keep the screen awake, than I do observing my teens driving. I have already followed the instructions to disable the Doze Mode for the app, but that has not helped at all. I successfully used the app for my two older kids in 2018 & 2019, and I don't recall this ever being an issue. I'm not sure what changed, but sure do hope the developers fix it FAST!

Kel. W. Feb 26, 2021

I have to go back and edit the time and distance using Google maps because the app stops logging with any change in your phone. Edit: Chris, the point of my review is that it no longer tracks correctly. I am aware that I can log a previous drive or edit any of them. When I used the app for my older daughter I could always use other apps, or anything on my phone for that matter while she was driving, and it wouldn't mess with the driving log calculations.

Bra. L. Oct 13, 2021

Frustrating! Every time I bring up the app on my phone to check how many minutes we've been driving it automatically opens to the end drive "save" screen and you can't go back. Then at that point I'm forced to save my drive and start a new one, happened to me three times last night! The app is a good idea but has bugs for sure. I've had to go back and manually input drive time multiple times.

Dav. S. Apr 11, 2021

Nice idea but the way it operates needs much improvement. First, the app thinks I am the one driving when I am the parent sitting in the passenger seat. After starting a drive in the app, if I open up the phone after it has been idle, the app automatically considers the drive complete and it stops recording even though that is not the case. Second, it attempts to calculate mileage but fails miserably at doing so. A 5 mile drive might come up as 1/4 mile. I do like that it figures out night time.

Car. L. Mar 7, 2021

First of all, I'll admit this is better than having to log drives manually. But there is almost never a time when I open the app that it doesn't crash, freeze, or otherwise glitch. It's not unusual to have to open and close it three or four times just to log a drive. I'd give it a 2 star rating except for the fact that I had a problem recovering my password and got prompt and polite assistance via email, so they get an extra star for customer service.

Ren. R. Sep 27, 2021

This app is very disappointing and I was so excited about it! It was going to be so easy and we didn't have to keep track on paper. The app freeze's, throws errors and loses progress. Just about every time I open the app I have to close it and restart it. This kind of app should be pretty easy to program and keep running smooth. Good luck parents!

Dan. B. Jul 2, 2021

This app is terrible and a waste of time. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Keep a paper log. It cuts out if there is any interruption in signal, or will just cut out for whatever reason. We live in a rural area and it goes dark every time we drive out of town. Always errors right when you need it. It freezes, glitches, and navigation of app features is awful. it crashes and doesnt record time half the time we use it. Teaching a kid is stressful enough without having to deal with a garbage app

A. G. u. Feb 13, 2020

This is the 2nd year in a row we're using this app to track our teen drivers time. Last year it worked great, flawlessly! Just started using it again two weeks ago and now it is very glitchy. It stops the drive by itself. Whether it stops the drive, or I do, the mileage is always wrong but the time seems right (ultimately its the time you need so this hasn't bothered me as much). It doesn't always save a drive. It sometimes picks a kid for me instead of me picking which one. Please help!

A. G. u. May 7, 2019

While the app is a great idea, it crashes almost every time I start it, requiring either a a force stop or phone reboot to get it to open. This has been a problem since we first started using the app almost a year ago so it isn't just a recent update. Also, the ads are poorly placed and make submitting drive times a pain. I forgot to mention that sometimes in the middle of a drive the app assumes you are done and stops recording.

Cha. V. Oct 31, 2021

This app only does a handful of things and it misses the mark on every one of them. The totals aren't right, previous drives don't save correctly, the log can't be saved or exported (there's a button to give you a false sense of comfort, but clicking it repeatedly with no resulting functionality may drive you mad). Perhaps it would be a good idea to hire new managers that see value in employing testers... or even the value in giving it a simple run-through before release. As it is, this app is surprisingly terrible.
