Got a phone call while I was downloading an important video. Yeah it just deleted the video, it won't play on the app now. PLAYBACK ERROR. The entire app is trash. It hides videos in odd folders, it crashes, connecting to the camera is shotty. Just a piece of trash app altogether. Zero stars.
No longer able to connect to dashcam since the update rendering this app useless. The ability to connect with phone is one of the main reasons i got this. I guess time for a new dashcam from a different company. Developer should have just stick to security updates and not make functionality changes to make the app useless.
I purchased the ROAV C 1 PRO AND DOWNLOADED THEIR APP. I MUST SAY I'M REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE DASH CAM AND THE APP IS OUTSTANDING 👌. VERY EASY TO SET UP AND MENUS ON THE CAMERA AND THE APP ARE GREAT. VERY HAPPY 🎉 WITH THE PURCHASE.😀👍👍 05/05/19 viedo playback is outstanding and controls are fantastic. outstanding cudos to whoever wrote the program 😉 I informed a friend that he had to turn off his phone data before connecting to camera Wifi then reconnect to phone data. Bingo 👍
Now that it's been recently updated, it refuses to recognize the tethered connection to the dashcam in my car. This app used to work just fine, and now it's useless, great job.
Updated app and now it won't connect to my camera. Tells me to go to wifi settings on my phone which is absolutely worthless. Worked fine before the update and now I might have to buy a different dashcam on Amazon. What happened Roav? Please fix soon before I have to go with a different brand.
It used to work... I hadn't accessed my Camara in a while and now since I tried it today the app is different and it doesn't connect with my phone at all...
App is absolute trash. I have no idea what happened. The dash cam is great, but for a product that relies so heavily on wifi tethering and being able to view your videos without having to take your SD card out and manually grab the videos, you'd think the app would work. I can't even get an email sent to me to change my password after getting a new phone. Let alone it just flat out not allowing me to tether to my dash cam. The entire app is just flat out broken.
Camera worked excellent until last update. Phone can't find camera now. You get no stars until app is UN-FIXED. 4-5-22 since you refuse to undo the update, I'll just buy a different brand,and never buy another Anker product again.
Update keeps asking for permissions it already had and it will no longer find my dash cam. Keeps telling me to go to wifi settings. Useless now.
This is a nice camera I like it it works very good it works very good but sometimes you have a problem just to get it back the network started but it's a good camera
Worked great at first but I can't upload anything now because it's constantly asking me to update my social media apps for it to work.
I have four roav dashcam's for my vehicles and they are useless now with this update can't connect to app.I wouldn't recommend any longer.
Don't update! After updating to the newest version the app would no longer connect to my camera. I contacted support by email. They responded within a day and gave me a link to an older version of the app. It works! Now I just have to keep it from auto updating.
I haven't used the app too much but so far so good. I use it with my C2 Pro and everything seems to run well. You have to download the video clips to your phone to watch them without being connected to the camera, which it seems some people haven't figured out yet. Once downloaded you can find them in the 'local storage' section, otherwise it will only been viewable by clicking on your camera, while it is connected.
I try to connect to the camera and it gives vague instructions about setting up "tethering" on the camera. it makes no sense. I think they just mean enable Wi-Fi. eventually I got everything going and even installed a version update. the image is good albeit oversharpened. it's hard to read license plates unless you are really close. still for the price it seems okay.
The app is very stable and responsive and cleanly designed. However, the video downloading and sharing is not that great. You can only download videos, and you can only trim a video if you are sharing it to YouTube or Facebook, not the ones saved on your device. I am switching from Yi dash cam and their app was far superior in this regard. I was able to delete video from app and when I downloaded to the phone is when I was able to trim the clip which meant no wait for 1GB 10min file
The dash cams are good, not great, and the ability to review videos via WiFi is horrible. Constant buffering. The videos will go right back to the beginning mid buffer and repeat. Basically makes the dash cams worthless if you can't properly watch a clip in an emergency situation, like a collision of some sort. Also, forget about downloading the videos... They can take up to 20 or so minutes to transfer a copy to your phone via WiFi...
The app is so damn slow to download a 1 min clip. The video playback glitches and barley is playable, again 1 minute clip sections. When your done using the app there's a notification that never goes away unless you for stop it. The app and the hardware is vaporware. Ridiculous. And I've owned this for 2 years so things just don't get fixed or updated to be better. Not what I expected from this company.
The ao is exceptional. set up was easy. Controls worked smoothly & crisp. WiFi set up was flawless. Video access and playback worked without issues. set it to a 5 min loop, worked the full 5 min everytime. love this dash cam. I installed a 64GB MicroSD class10, 100mb transfer speed. I didn't give it a five star rating because I couldn't control the volume. and when I accessed their "feedback " setting the email crashed.hahahah!
Not good. Can't connect to my dashcam. Very poor app and very short life battery of dash cam
Used to work perfectly for two years. After the update it won't connect.
Works like a charm. Very simple and easy to use. Camera has great picture quality day and night. I've bought 2 different brand cameras in the same price range to see which one is better. Roav a1 was an easy win. Better picture quality, easier navigation through menus, great build quality. Dont expect 1Gbps wifi speeds on a $50 camera. It probably has cheapest 802.11a wifi chipset as an added value feature. It works, just a little slow, but works. Cons? Too cheap??
This app would not connect to my dash cams anymore. I kept getting a wifi tethering error. I tried two different phones and an iPad. All three devices had the same problem. My solution to this problem was to download version 4.1 and use a signature app that locked the old version, so it cannot be updated again. Problem solved! This workaround is only for Android devices. Sorry! I can now connect to my dash cams again. As my Grandfather used to say "If it isn't broken, then don't try and fix it"!
