It was great until the latest update. Now Alexa is really slow to respond, I can't use it to make calls, it won't launch pandora, I frequently get errors saying something went wrong, and the new features (announcements, drop in, etc.) don't work very well. Hone about all it's good for now is playing radio stations, which makes it no more useful than my car's own radio.

This is actually a decent app for interacting with Alexa in your car. I have two devices. One in my 1994 Mercedes and the one in my 1972 El Camino. There are 3 basic problems with the app. The main one is it doesn't support Spotify. Of course I can manually stream it, but that defeats the purpose of Alexa. 2nd, the app doesn't auto connect from one device to the other when I switch vehicles. I have to manually connect. 3rd, every time I manually connect, it makes me relink the account, annoying.

Edit; App now takes focus on phone every time Alexa is accessed. Very annoying. please provide an option to stay in the background! down to three stars... and only that good for sake of device. To use properly, need to add an app like audiobt to drive audio over bluetooth without having to switch. Recently, app started pushing to the top whenever activated, and that's annoying and unnecessary. Otherwise, it's Alexa in the car, and that's all win.

Was really great. Then two days ago, it started having issues playing music from Amazon Unlimited. Some songs it would play fine and others it would say it's having problems and skip the song... These are songs it's played numerous times before without issue. I can play the songs straight from my phone though. I tried uninstalling and then reinstall, but same issue.

If you have Amazon Prime, this is GREAT! Setup was easy and it's very reliable. My only complaint.. The microphone could be better especially for a device meant for your vehicle. Cabin noise can interfere. I drive a Range Rover, it has very limited cabin noise yet i still need to raise my voice, sometimes, to get Alexa's response. Aside from inferior mic...I LOVE IT!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Quite a good app/product. Was able to get Alexa in my car before even Amazon themselves got their own equivalent product. It does sometimes accidentally respond to words/sounds (esp Alexa ads) playing on the radio, and also sometimes require repeated commands. Working on Bluetooth data also means there's a short lag time between commands and responses compared to the Amazon Echo devices at home. If you have frequent friends/conversations in the car, this can pick up more accidental "Alexa's", and you might find yourself reaching for the (nice sized) mute button. But despite these shortcomings, it's still a great little device to help me turn on the home AC/lights...etc when I get into the car, along with other conveniences like helping me time to my favorite streaming station on TuneIn.

Generally good. It can be a bit laggy, but nothing that's too much of a hindrance. My only annoyance is the music. Once you start playing music, it will ALWAYS automatically start playing said music as soon as you get in the car, even if you tell it to stop. It's really annoying because it not only uses data, but the timing could be bad.

This has now become a very expensive paper weight. It no longer recognizes my phone unless I link it every time (seeing as how I got this so I do not use my phone while driving, point moot). Alexa went from hearing everything I said to not recognizing a thing. some days I can't skip songs unless I use my phone. Some days I can't CHOOSE a song unless I use my phone. Again, point moot. I want to add more, pages more, but I'm at a 500 character limit. I've never HATED tech until this

Works well when you are in a 4g area. 50% of the time I am not. There is no ability/skill to have it play my Amazon downloaded playlists or audio books from Amazon which is really annoying and frustrating. Instead I get no internet connection, please try again later. If I ask to play a playlist from my phone I get I don't know how to do that.

You have to speak quite loud to hear you. You definitely cannot travel with the windows open and speak to Alexa at the same time. The idea is brilliant and great in the car but for one thing for me, it's one great big down fall is that it cannot run Spotify and Amazon have made sure of that. Otherwise it is a great product.

Another fine Anker product. This pairs with your phone and connects to your car radio to bring hands free calls, entertainment, and productivity to you car by way of Amazon's Alexa. You must have phone to radio connectivity gear of some kind in place to use this, ie, radio must have bluetooth, or an aux port, or you need a bluetooth-to-fm modulator to get things going. Roav uses your phone's data plan. My only minus is that the device doesn't always pick up my voice if Im playing loud audio

Issue 1: I can't get this new "beta zone" to show up in my app, so no trying of new functions for me. This is a problem as Echo Auto is on the horizon & this thing will have an impossible time competing with an official product that gets frequent updates & has the full, uncompromised Alexa functionality we are all accustomed to. Issue 2: though it is handy for a few functions, the big issue is lack of Spotify support. I'm not sure what is taking them so long to get it back into the main app after their beta from 6 months back or so. I have the APK from Anker directly that includes support for Spotify, but it's functionally bare bones & sometimes defaults back to thinking it can't play Spotify. Ask 1-3 more times, & it'll finally comply. Can't ask to play specific songs or anything. The Roav is likely not long for this world if they can't offer a compelling feature set comparable to Echo Auto, which will be official & cheaper.

Works well! pairing is simple and seems to hold connection well. if i had one gripe, it would be that the app and music services like Spotify and Pandora only talk through alexa/google assistant, meaning you can't control the music through your phone, and vice versa. Otherwise, an awesome app and a good product!

Despite the occasional misunderstanding where Alexa will mistakenly think she heard her name, I absolutely love having her in the car! While Android Auto runs my car's infotainment, Alexa runs my home, so it's extremely convenient to be able to have her change the temperature when I'm on my way home, turn the lights on or off, arm/disarm the alarm, or even unlock the door for the cleaning lady without having to open an app and pests a button while driving.

Your current version is 3.3.0, released on 2 March 2021. The problem isn't with the hardware or the correct functionality of your software, it's with your developer team's meddling with the way the software interfaces with the device to not allow active button interface after a minute or so of using the device. I am informing you that your team has screwed up the device and they are making it work bad for all the people who use the device. Please fix this.

this product is terrible. I purchased it because I love the Amazon Alexa's. I have five of them. I was looking forward to the integration with my vehicle. I spend most of my day in my vehicle. However the deciding factor was that it says it was compatible with Waze. It is not compatible with Waze at all. The only thing it will do is direct you to a city. It will not direct you to a certain address. I tried multiple addresses that I know exists and have existed for over 50 years.

The app worked for a little while and all of a sudden it started acting like c***. Will not connect for more then a few seconds. I have tried everything. So no I'm looking for a new app and way to connect to my car

A. G. u. Dec 21, 2018

It has potential but its terribly hit and miss. Sometimes it wont connect even with full bars on my phone and the command word needs repeating over and over even when it does. You will find yourself shouting Alexa, Alexa it drives you mad tbh. Ive thought about launching it out the window on several occasions :D

Great device and when I first got Viva worked as advertised. But since the last update now it doesn't recognize my contact list. I was able to ask to call someone and it would've giving me the choice of home or mobile now it randomly picks a number to call. If they can fix this issue this will be a five star app

A. G. u. May 29, 2019

Application is slowly getting worse. When I first used it, the app was well integrated with the Alexa app. First routines started failing and today the app will no longer play music from Amazon music. Furthermore I am still waiting for integration with Spotify!

A. G. u. Dec 17, 2019

New update forces it to constantly run and have an active notification. Even when I force stop it, it restarts in a second. No option in the settings to turn it off!!! Not acceptable. The notification AND never ever turning off are both problems. Uninstalling.

A. G. u. Dec 17, 2019

An always on battery drain. The recent update has now forced icon in the notification area that can't be dismissed or removed in the settings of the app. It appears to be nothing more than a permanent advertisement sitting in my notification tray, draining my battery and polluting my phone for a device I use every few weeks.

A. G. u. Sep 16, 2018

Overall app works good. But it never connects unless I open the app. It also required to be forced closed to get to the music or connection notification to go away. Other than that, it works pretty good.

Wow, wow, wow. I love having Alexa on my drive. It is synced with your Alexa app and provides all of the same features as your home unit. I would have given this a 5 star, but the mic has trouble hearing me even when my stereo's volume is somewhat low. Anker Roav can easily fix that by allowing the app to also utilize the microphone built in the synced phone in addition to the actual Roav. Phone: Samsung Galaxy S8 Vehicle: 2014 Toyota Tundra Limited with Entune.
