I love this app, but I've had a slight problem this last time I've installed it... For some reason the save button is greyed out, and the share button doesn't seem to do anything. Is there any reason this would be happening that I'm just missing? I had to save my last image via screenshot, which isn't ideal, so I'd rather be able to use the default save feature :) I'm on Android 10 on a Nokia 7.1 Thanks for the great app!
I just lost a nearly perfectly decoded image because I accidentally hit the delete button instead of the save button.Needs a confirm dialog. Catastrophic data loss. Also, "Auto mode" isn't clear... tapping menu button seems to do nothing. Is it active? Show a checkbox? Could be improved a good bit, but not bad for a free app.
It wasn't designed to do phone calls. Amazing how the decoder can automatically select format. Creates interesting effects when the encoder is played through an amplifier. Would like to try this in a large reverberation sized room. Working best when at lower volume not loud enough to bounce off of walls. Scottie DX is actually the only mode that doesn't smear my profile picture. I've got this encoder and decoder set on 3 of my devices. I've sent my profile picture to myself through every single mode this pair can do. Looking forward to the day I can actually use them with a radio or even home phone.
Love this app. I have successfully decoded an image but unfortunately the share and save buttons do not work. I have tried while it is running and while it is not. I have looked everywhere on my phone to see if I was mistaken. I even uninstalled and reinstalled. I am on a Pixel 2xl running Android 10.
It works really well, very sensitive and when you get everything together (timing, channel etc) you can download some nice photos from the international space station
Had to uninstall and reinstall the first go around at it. The app was malfunctioning on the first download. After a second download, I was able to get it working. I was able to set it to auto mode and received some cool pics from my local radio club using my baofeng uv5r.
Absolutely fantastic. Everything works out of the box automagically with protocol detection. I'm a HUGE fan of the straight forward privacy policy and the open source license. This is an excellent piece of software.
Pause, then back button closes the app!! So many posts about running in the background. Press pause then back button, app closes. Great app, perfect for hams. Thanks!
Im a hobbyist radio operator. Plenty of channels transmit SSTV and this is the best application for the job. In terms of usability this is great and easy to use, no convoluted menus or anything.
Great app. Easy to use and best of all it works. Down side is you cant turn it off so it always shows in my notification bar. Havnt realy noticed much of a drain on my battery
I really like this app, it is very easy to use and can detect modes automatically. I would've loved to see some more modes such as ROBOT 8 and 16 black and white
At first I was going to give it a single star; I was sitting about 6 foot from the source. Room harmonics effects pictures; taking phone to source it worked well!
Extra simple to use, fully automatic. Once it sees the start of a new picture it will save that it has decided in your pictures directory.
An autosave function after every page decode would make this app just perfect. It's very useful nevertheless, good noise canceling.
Great app with two exceptions: it misses the mode identifier code often and there's no true stop unless you force stop the app. Add a force stop button to it and it'll be so much better.
THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST SSTV APP EVER. It's better than any PC based SSTV app, including MSSTV, hands down. *CRYSTAL CLEAR* SSTV frames from RS0ISS using an IC-V80, Arrow antenna and my Nexus 7 tablet. THE BEST!!!!!
It Works. There is just Play and Save functions. I use it with remotely located Argent Data Sys. Camera for security. There's not another app I can find that works for Robot36.
Man this has to be the BEST mobile decoder out there. It is so easy to use, its automatic, and it detects the format you are using 11/10 stars!
It's really free, and it works well except that the image resets every time it detects a different mode.
Great decoder[s] -they are very robust in many difficult conditions. Only ask would be for morse decoder for idents. Overlay or append to pic metadata.
I liked it from a usability standpoint for complex things. It was not hard to use. Downloaded the SSTV encoder. Stay tuned.

If you pause the app you cannot save the image!! And if you restart decoding you lose the image you had!
Opened the app and all options were greyed out. I gave the app storage permissions but I have no means to select any files.
I am an emergency volunteer and used this software tonight during a SSTV training practice. Software worked great. Many thanks!
Put it on your phone and receive sstv pictures using any audio link such as your ham radio CB radio regular telephone or public address system You'll want to pick up the companion program sstv encoder to send pictures. When you become an advanced ham radio operator you want to use mmsstv application and go big-time over shortwave it's awesome activity every weekend on 14.23 megacycles upper side band
I don't know what this is. But it seems really cool. I always have trouble understanding anything in terms of waves. What exactly is going on here? Like the converse of sonar? Like a light into Sound kinda thing? Can you use it to hide audio? Not that sonar makes light. You know what I mean. Actually sonar doesn't convert it just reflects right? Bad example. The opposite of a spectrograph? Audio representation of visual data kind of thing?
