This used to be great, with good service from previous programmer. Unfortunately there is a recurring issue with the app continually rescanning for music everytime I open app, even though this option is off on both devices. And then exits me out of the app every first time I open it each day. I would email programmers, however I'm still waiting for a reply to a syncing issue from 4 months ago which has yet to be resolved. It's still a reasonable app, along with iSyncr, but needs some work!

Have had rocket player unlocked for years. Got a new phone and now I can't access the ad free version without paying $30 a month - that's an absolutely ridiculous price to. I purchased the ad free version years ago but I guess that doesn't matter somehow and now they want me to pay monthly. Not a chance. Will have to find another music player instead. Sad to say goodbye to rocket player.

I have to post my review here since reviews are apparently turned off on Rocket Player. Ever since the update to 6.1.0, the app constantly rescans my music library despite my turning off auto rescan in the app settings. Also, the app randomly minimizes while playing, and I have to find it again to control it. Based on the reviews and posts on the Rocket Player group on Google Groups, this is not just happening to me. Rocket Player used to be my go-to music app, but it's virtually unusable now.

I hadn't been using an offline music player much because of volume and quality issues with the one I had. That may have been fixable, but I got tired of messing with it and decided to find something new. Enter Rocket Player. It installed easily, found my music, sounds great and generally works well. I immediately went pro because I hate ads and I like to support the apps that I use (they don't write themselves and I don't have the skills to do it 😁). Thanks!

I've enjoyed this app thus far, though I've recently found some room for improvement. It'd be great if the app could be configured to differentiate between Bluetooth devices. My Bluetooth phone earpiece and my Bluetooth car stereo serve very different purposes and it'd be nice to be able to specify a different default behavior, volume level, and EQ for each. My phone's OS can differentiate between the devices, so couldn't that be extended to the app? Add that and I'll bump the rating up!

Ok, I really like the app as it's one of the few players that integrate well with transferring my iTunes playlists over to my phone (Galaxy Note 9+). However there are two reason why I didn't give it 5⭐s. [1] The random crashes are frustrating and too numerous. [2] Every time I sync my phone with my iTunes playlists, all of my album art gets stored as separate photos in my phones photo gallery. We're talking 350/375 photos added every time I sync. That is insane. If a future update addresses these issues, I'll revisit my review.

I've been using this player for years both free and paid on rooted and un-rooted devices. I have to say that in the last year I have noted a perceivable degradation in sound quality. The equalizer and pre-amp functions are essentially useless except with the most ancient mp3's of songs from decades ago. The only reason it sounds adequate is that I have Dolby Atmos on my Note 8. Since the Samsung One UI update, every single press of a button or action interrupts the song play. It was horrible at first but has diminished a bit since the May 24th update. I don't know if that is a JRT or Samsung problem, or both. The ability to delete songs on external card is far more convoluted than previous. The navigation to do so is a disaster. I hope to see vast improvement in next release or I will move onto another player

Hello, if you can please improve the button with the 3 little lines to hold songs (the button that lets you re-order the songs on a playlist). I'm pretty sure it used to be bigger or at least more responsive and now it's really frustrating to use it. To people thinking of buying, you should. It's a great app and gets regular updates.

The developers have recently addressed some of the qualms I've had with this app, like scrolling (thank you). Now that the scroll has more traction/less momentum, it is much easier to peruse and navigate my library when sorted by song, without needing to use the search bar. I would like to see more intuitive, user-friendly queue editing, similar to that on Apple's default music application. Otherwise, this is (once again) the best app for iPhone-style listening on an Android.

The player works mostly well. There are two issues, however: 1. The app has rather frequent crashes (maybe 1-2 per week) that require a complete force stop of the app to make it work again. 2. I recently migrated to another phone. Rocket player displayed an error message telling me to uninstall rocket unlocker. I did so and now it doesn't seem to exist on the play store anymore and i have to pay again for the full version. Having to pay again is not really acceptable by my standards.

Excellent music player. It would be perfect if it had music queues like some other music players so I could use it for lessons with my students during the day and return to where I left off on my music playlist on my ride home. I have a very large playlist and hate restarting it everytime I want to play an individual song.

I've used this app everyday for more than 5 years. It's always been reliable, even on some really basic phones. The only negative I can think of is that "Podcast Playback Speed" is limited to 2x. I find myself listening to podcasts at faster and faster speeds on my PC (through MusicBee or Youtube with the "Youtube Playback Speed Control" Chrome extension) so I'd like to be able to do that on my phone too. Up to 4x would be optimal ..and with snap points on the slider at major intervals (e.g. 1.5x, 2x, 3x, etc.). ...but, apart from that, I really can't fault Rocket Music Player.

Cant search for album art or auto tagg. Tried rebooting but nothing works. Seems the last update messed something up. I've had the premium version of this product for years and think it's great. But...every once and a while these bugs pop up. Leaving me frustrated. Love the UI ....but I wish it had a screen saver with the album art or an option for an animation that went with the music. Last phone I had the screen got baked as a result of just leaving it on.

*EDIT* Thank you for the reply! I realized I did not see the playback speed because it is unavailable unless equalizer is enabled. It would be helpful to have playback speed accessible on the "Now Playing" screen instead of deep in the settings. **My Original Review** Great player! But please add playback speed settings!! This should be a standard feature in any media player. Thank you!

I tried this out as an alternative to iTunes for my wife to move away from her iPod for fitness classes. In a lot of ways, this is good but in a number of ways, it is beyond frustrating. For example, by default it will look for all media on your device. If there's something you don't want in the library (such as your ringtones,) there's no way to remove it without deleting the source file. I've emailed JRT about it, and they suggest I go through and include only the folders I want. In my situation, that's very cumbersome. While it does a good job of playing music, organization is another matter. They really need to look at the library functions from a *customer's* perspective.

Works Great! I've had Rocket Player on my Kindle Fire for over a year. I liked it so much, I bought Premium for my phone! It's awesome! It has great features like Crossfade, an Equalizer, custom playlists (with a warning for duplicate songs), an option to backup playlists & tags to the cloud. I recently had an issue that turned out to be an Android setting. Thanks to the developers at JRTstudios, who quickly came to my rescue, I was fixed within 48 hours! I could not be Happier! Thanks JRT!

Been using this app for years but then it started having playlist issues. Lists not showing up or being updated that are copied over by iSyncr. Even still have the same issues on my brand new S20. I'm tired of constantly resetting the database. I've given up on this app. Switched to Poweramp and the playlists work flawlessly.

I've been using rocket player since my my first smart phone, a galaxy S2, I've never found a better music player and have only delayed purchasing the ad free upgrade because of how non-intrusive the ads are in the free version... and absent minded laziness on my part. Looking forward to using Rocket Player for another 8 years and more! (ps. Thank you so much for including podcast resume times)

Clearly doesn't support Android 10... Since my phone updated it boots me back to the play store if I try to access the equaliser, it doesn't recognise the Premium app and that in itself just freezes. It's a shame, this was my favourite player for Android Auto. I have reinstalled both apps several times but no joy. EDIT... Thankyou for your reply, yes it's a Huawei P30 Pro device. Any idea if there is a way I can work around this? I don't really want to use another music player. 😕

Reliable, pleasure to use. I got the modest upgrade (pro?) version to say thanks. if it had an exit option, I'd go 5 stars. too many apps want to hang around in RAM but the long press on the android brings up everything in RAM. I prefer to shut down unused apparently. my music is on the SD card and never had a problem.

I was sad and reluctant to get rid of Google Music but what a fool I was because there was something out there even better. This music player has it all, minus one small complaint. I wish it had the option to select multiple songs at once to edit the info. That's it though. Love this player.
