very fun little app for using your midi controller on the go, and I think the implementation of adverts (given that this is the free version) is very reasonable. had a small issue with some midi functionality but the dev got back to me very quickly and solved it (try to avoid midi channels that aren't 1 for full functionality until a patch comes out apparently).
Came across this app last night and noticed a review stating there was no midi connectivity whatsoever. As I am in to synthesizer sounds I thought I would give it a go. What can I say I am so glad I did when I saw vangelis in the sounds, it's enough to give you goosebumps! As for midi connection I have never tried this before and I had no problem at all connecting this app to my casio ctx 5000. Was wandering though if the free version is this good what is the paid for version like?
Great DX emulator. And they mean zero latency: the only playable synth I found out there. The latency might not be zero, but it's very tolerable. Play it with a MIDI controller; touch screen latency is not great on most devices (not fault of the software). If you are looking for something like Dexed on Android, here you go.
It was ok. Mainly, I was just looking to create soundfiles to import into a DAW, for use as loops. Couldn't see a way to get this particular app and that particular DAW to work together. Also, saw no record function. Whatever purpose this app is supposed to serve, I'm sure it probably serves well; it just doesn't seem to serve mine. Edit: Having a BT MIDI device is inconvenient; I don't have the space. Also, an external device to get 2 apps to communicate seems a bit much. Thanks anyway, though.
Was not going to rate, but then I saw the Zero Latency tag. Unfortunately the latency is quite noticeable, it is playable, but expect higher latency than you would on a computer. Other than that it does sound great and is a great reproduction of DX7. I do find the price rather steep for this kind of app but if it did produce Zero Latency I would have purchased.
is there a way to save your patches? loading sysex files and midi are great, but what's the point if you can't save the changes you've made to the stsex files and export them to other devices. if this was possible, i would definitely buy the full version of this app.
I have a lot of synth & keyboard apps. This has become my "go-to". Spent a few bucks, got quick instrument changes, and you can hear the difference in sounds with ease. Fast, easy, and fun, who doesn't want that??
I tried the demo and decided to purchase (price <$10.00). I love the Yamaha DX synths, this type of app makes them easy to program. I used to own a Casio full size CZ synth in the 80's, one could make good patches with it, but it did not have the effects the Yamaha DX has, or the patch support. The Yamaha DX became the sound of the 80's, popularized by Michael Mcdonald and session musican Robbie Buchannan. Good app, worth a ten star rating.
This synthesizer app looks good and seems to sound good. As a multiple synth owner, I hoped to use it for testing song motifs and melodies. Unfortunately, I could not exit the program. Ten minutes in, it's uninstalled now.
unlike a PC where you can actually find decent software for your phone well the only thing people care about is money you can't find one single good working synth that's actually free. so my options never use my phone and you can keep your sorry software. I'll keep using my PC because it's much better.
Excellent FM synth emulation and one standout issue I still have post the latest update is the envelope gen level 4 controller is off the right hand side of my screen with no aparrent way to access it. Dropping a star as still an issue.
Nice app. Awesome replacement for a DAW. I have unlocked all features however the app keeps crashing when i use the frequency settings. If this issue is fixed this app may become the best mobile midi controller app. Thanks
Turning things on and off breaks current voice, sometimes it breaks all voices and full restart is required to fix it. No save button. Otherwise would have been a great app.
The tones are good and there is low latency when the output is from the mobile phone but when I connect my yamaha psr 463, there is too much latency when the app is using the sound card of the keyboard. How can I fix it ?
Since the release of the Yamaha DX7 synthesizer in May 1983, music has been revolutionized. Though production of the DX7 has ceased in 1989, making the legendary synthesizer more of a collector's edition instrument, the Synth FM app allows users to simulate the very same sounds from the genuine keyboard. Thank you, Rockrelay, for allowing us easier access to the iconic DX7 sounds that changed the course of the history of music.
Very nice experience here, having most dream sound, and bends. How can I get key modulation botton? Or how can I change or modulate another on the former. I hope yiu understand my problem. Good job.
The user interface is beautifully done. Sound banks are quite good. addition of delay and reverb, easy control parameters over sound design made me rate this app five stars..
There is distracting ad on screen . also, it forces to see ad to unlock for 30minues. If you want to put ad,it should be below the screen or somewhere that doesn't distract. Also, keystroke stucks a lot
In 1995 my parents paid $2,000 us dollars for technology offered in this app, only 25 years later offered for free. Just wow. Excellent quality effects, panning, great selection although not excessive. Thank you dev's, you make happiness in my temporal awareness.
I am very happy to find this application. Except for faders (Master Fader works well), knobs and buttons, the Launchkey 61 MIDI keyboard features work well. After making a purchase, the fader, knob, button will work? Or, does the feature increase after making a purchase?
It's a decent DX sim, but having an ad banner limit functionality of the app unless I watch a video led me to delete the app. Invasive ads are always a turnoff.
Nice application for making and listening DX7 + extra features, just one remark in frequency&envelope tab put on right side active algorythm preview it's much easier when you make sounds like in real synths where you have all algorythms in top right corner.
The controls on the right side of the LFO and Envelope sections are not fitting on the screen and are only partially visible. This is on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
Sounds great but I can't seem to find a way to save patches and the developer has failed to respond to my email asking if it's even possible. Without this function it's pretty useless.
Very cool synth app. Just like the big boys, only this one is on your fine. Multiple keyboards in different octaves. Tons of voices.
Sounds great. Good latency. Great UI. Usable without purchasing, but the additional features seem worth it.
Tankyou sir! really wonderful..!this app is best...best....best for live stage program...!but one problem perches failed then play store open and starting apps....
This is a very comprehensive fm synth app, and deserving of a great review, however, there's one small problem that breaks it a bit. If you happen to turn the envelope release to max on any operator, any note played while this knob is in the max position will be left perpetually ringing no matter how envelopes are readjusted. The only fix that I have found for this is restarting your whole phone. Even if you exit the app, the angelic sound of this app will be left humming. 5 stars without bug.
