Rogue Connect - (Formerly Hoover Home)

This is the slowest, glitchiest, most frustrating app I've ever used. And this is the "better" version. Everything takes ages to load, the calendar sometimes will not display, and the app only allows you to set two tasks. So if you want a separate set of tasks for the robot on weekends, you can't do that. You set a third task and the app just will not save it. It stops at 2. The robot itself works great, but this companion app is absolute trash. Currently saving for a Roomba. I hate this app.

I have owned a Hoover 970 for several years but it was just a paperweight because the Hoover Home app was horrible and didn't function. I was not happy because the product was broken and didn't work. This new app changes everything. The app worked flawlessly for me so far. I was able to set the vacuum up without any issues. It completed the exploration run and mapped the room very well. I added a few no-go zones for things it didn't see like pet dishes and it cleaned great. Loving the new app.

Much better than the old app. I have had no issues connecting to the robot since I switched to the new app. They added a new feature to spot clean, very helpful. I reached out to the developer about missing motor speed control. They responded back to me in less than an hour to say they are working on it for a future update. I was impressed with the quick response. If you are still using the old Hoover Home app I strongly recommend that you switch to this app.

Horrible. Spent 2 days dealing with a hoover rogue 970 and getting it to work with this app. Half the time it doesn't find the vac. It times out I have to try like 15 times to connect. When I do and get to recon mode it says it's started but the vac doesn't move. The app crashes too much. I get a red exclamation point on the wifi symbol in the app sometimes. It freezes and crashes every single time I try to run the firmware update. Absolute garbage only a few years after it came out. 🗑

Update: It was operater error! I got it to link and it works GREAT! (Below the dust box is the QR Code! To put it simply this app does not work. I don't see how these companies can claim it does what it does when it actually doesn't. It won't connect with Alexa either. The vacuum does not go back to the dock when it is done. I have to carry it back. Smh At least it actually does work when I click the play button.

Wow. This app is light night and day compared to the other, less functional app, that seemed like it wasn't thoroughly tested. Two things that annoyed me with the old app is how difficult it was to connect to the rogue, and how you defined "no cleaning" areas. This is literally superior to the last app. I had nearly given up on using my rogue automatically anymore. I enjoyed automatic cleaning. As the old app got worse, I settled for pressing the clean button manually. Now I can schedule again!

I went with this brand because of the Hoover name, big mistake. I should have went with a tech brand. I got this shortly after it came out 10/17, got so frustrated with tech support, I gave up after several months. It gets lost all the time and I've had to reset and do exploration dozens of times. After a year of not working they suggested I return to Target! Wouldn't stand by it! I'm still using it because the unit is well made and I paid $$$, the tech is garbage. Stay away.

Great app, nicely done. Love you can watch the progress as the Hoover cleans. However it says works with Google Home, but the app does not show in the Google Home list of devices. So how and when can I clean my house with my voice??? 5 Stars other then this false advertising. Also my Rogue came with a fully discharged battery that would not charge without me manually 'floating' a charge first. Guess it was in a warehouse for a long time!

Deleted the old app because the rouge literally quit connecting to the network. Man this app goes from having to be a computer programmer in the old app to easy button configs. I have multiple units and names can be easily change to not confuse them. A+ so far, hope the units stay connected. These 970s batteries only last about 2-3 years, cheap on amazon, and hard wood to rug is pretty crappy, but they do work great.

I have waisted so much time trying to connect my vacuum to this useless app. The app keeps closing after I enter the vacuum name and I have to restart. Then attempting to try again, I get the screen that shows "close app", "wait", or send feedback. I've sent feedback, not sure what that will do. This vacuum is a waist of money and time! Don't buy in to the Hoover scam.

I made more progress with this app then I ever did with the previous version. The vacuum finally mapped my house. It returned to the base station and it said it needed a firmware update. Of course the update failed. The app said it was trying to preform a recovery, but that failed too. And now the vacuum does nothing. Thanks Hoover.

One of the most responsive companies I have dealt with in regard to the app. I have emailed them twice now and on both occasions they have emailed me back within a day.. just this weekend I was having problems with the app not syncing with the robot, not progressing past the name screen. Emailed them screen shots this morning and it's fixed and running a new exploration can as see speak... Well done 👍 Before you give bad review try emailing then because they are very friendly to work with.

You did it. You actually did it. My vacuum lives again! "Cons": Pairing takes about 10 minutes, could be better, but it is very responsive and you know it isn't just stuck. Only connects to WiFi networks with passwords, but you should have one anyway. Pro: room mapping and tracking is even more accurate than before. Vacuum now recognizes different rooms so you can mark whole rooms as no-go or change the vacuum strength by room. Zones are better. I am happy to own this vacuum again!

Was useless for a year when the app didn't work. App finally worked and was amazed. Then app was updated again and now the vacuum is always getting lost and getting stuck where it never used to. I can never leave it it alone, takes more effort than its worth. There was a good 4 months where I was happy tho, ha.

Pros: The app gets all the functional pieces right. Cons: clocked in at 2 minutes and 25 seconds every time I pull up the map as it goes through it's multiple update steps (hallways, walls, rooms, etc...)

Not always the simplest procedure to connect your Rogue to the app. Even more difficult to add app/vacuum to multiple devices. Unlike many other apps of this genre, you cannot order replacement parts from the app.

Just as I was about to turn my Rogue. Into a frisbee frustrating forced me to look see if Hoover Home has been updated and found new Hoover Rogue app. I downloaded the new Hoover Rogue app followed instructions and was connected in a hurry maped the house and started cleaning. I gave this app 4 stars because there was no instructional web site or was informed by Hoover of the new app. To me Hoover has finally made it's made it's commitment of a workable app two years after I purchased the Rogue.

Wow. What an improvement over the Hoover Home app. Before it took me 2 hrs to get the Rogue 970 to connect to my internet and too many attempts to count. Hoover Home was a dumpster fire and this app while being too late to save Hoover the shame and bad rep from the previous dumpster fire has alleviated almost all of my issues.

The speed options were a great upgrade, but now the app will no longer connect to the robot! Needs a better map. Also, it will not link with Google home or Alexa.

Question for the developers, how do we link Google Home to the Rogue Connect app? I attempted to link my Rogue to Google Home but it said it needs to be connected via the Hoover Home app. I thought this app was going to replace Hoover Home? Please advise. Update: It's November 1st and there's still no option to link Rogue Connect to Google Home. @TTI North American Floor Care, is Google still reviewing your app 6 months later?! What's the ETA for when you expect to hear back on Google Home?

This is, without a doubt, the worst tech product I have ever encountered. Somehow, you've managed to turn a garbage product-- Hoover Home-- into an even bigger steaming pile of garbage. But you didn't stop there. Instead, you hired and "trained" your phone support people to be an amazing combination of stupid and arrogant, with absolutely zero interest in anything but clearing out the call. I have owned this Rogue for about 20 months. You have PERMANENTLY damaged the Hoover brand.

It's OK. The app is WAY better than it was a year or so ago. It actually remembers maps now. The one down side is that it's not compatible with Google Home (yet?).

Your app is broken again!! Everything worked fine for the last 6 months. Now App will no longer find the robot. Can not do a fresh install. Does not work at all now. Customer support will not help. Waste of money!

So far so good. Connected quickly and functions are all working. I wish you could map multiple floors of a split level

Very user friendly. I can quickly set the robot to avoid the crazy mess in my kids` toy room or go directly to my husky`s bedding and sweep up his clumps of hair!

This is the worst vacuum and app I have ever used. I have to Uninstall the app every time I want to use the vacuum. I will go back to the IRobot next time!

I figured it out this app works on my tablet but not on my phone. Now I downloaded it on my tablet and I'm able to pick rooms to clean. Thank you.

App broke again. Worked great for a few weeks now it just sits there on updating robot time. Useless paperweight again.

Customizable tasks have been added since last update! All that is needed now is google home integration!
