Rokie - Remote for Roku

BEFORE they had ads, I would give this app 5 stars because it WAS very easy to use and fast to respond. Now when you try to use it, you're immediately forced with an ad as soon as you open the app. Then they keep coming like every 30 seconds or after every 5 clicks, the worst part is they will pop up without warning so you'll be trying to click on the remote and suddenly an ad pops up and it takes you to their website or play store. I'm just trying to use a remote, not see 3 ads every minute.
This is the worst app. So many ads that you can hardly use the remote. The ads pop up whenever you press any button on the remote, and without warning, that you accidentally hit them while using the remote. Then it takes you to the ads website or to the play store. VERY annoying! Imagine having to watch an ad every time you want to use the remote for anything at all. I would give zero stars if I could
This was a service I wanted to use in between procuring a replacement Roku remote. Now I'm left stressed & trying to cancel 24+ hours before trial service due date. $10 a year isn't the worst but does me no good when it barely works as is. Tonight & purchased a new Roku set~up w remote @ Walmart & now I'm out of the fee for trying to use my cell as a remote. Boo! Was always glitchy, slow, limited options. Sorry to be a downer but this wasn't all I needed it to be😬
This app was a big waste of time! Sometime it works and MOST of the time it doesn't, it just stays on "Discovered Devices", knowing that a minute ago it was just working with the SAME wi-fi!!!! I think it would be better to just get another remote because these roku apps are trash.
App is mostly fine but these ads are so aggressive i legit can't pause things or whenni scroll I can't stop autoplay. The remote app should be a selling point not a profit margin. I guess roku isn't doing so well based off how bad this is. AndroidTV does not have this problem. I'm normally fine with ads but this is really REALLY agressive
It is difficult to start up only because I have some resent brain difficulties, BUT it is,most definitely worth it in the absence of lost, actual, remote control for tv... so in the long run with it for a low cost annual $9.99 fee 🤷🏽♀️👍🏼
So close to perfect it feels like its trolling you. The trackpad mode is my favourite but it doesn't allow swipe back to go back and switch modes. Which would be fine if it supported scrolling with the bezel or at least 2 point drag.
It perfectly functions just like the remote that came with my TV. It costs a few dollars a year or something but it is convenient to have a remote that dont get lost where ever remotes always hide normally.
Amazing! I tried another one and I could only change the volume and turn the tv on and off without a premium membership. This is a lot more free! I'm uninstalling the other one and keeping this!
This SPECIFIC remote for "Roku" streaming channels & apps is BY FAR the BEST & LEAST FRUSTRATING remote! The ONLY REASON I gave 4🌟's instead of 5🌟's, is because of the ambush of ads which ALMOST ALWAYS makes me & go WAY TOO FAR when needing to rewind &/or fast forward! Yes, you can $$pay to remove ads, but it's just too expensive to spend on removing ads on top of already paying on Roku & the individual channels to remove ads!
Depending on what you're looking for it could be worth the price. I wanted a remote for my Samsung galaxy watch 4 classic. If you're wanting it just to use on your phone then just get the official roku app and use that remote. If you want to use your watch then definitely download this one and pay to get rid of ads. People who complain about ads need to remember it took someone time and effort to create this app. So the developer should make money off ads or the users
this is the best roku remote period. Premium service of course but it's only 6 bucks a month and you get to use your phone. on multiple roku televisions + rokus w ease. No more having to type w the remote, draing your batteries; w the roku remote w a microphone especially. We go through several packs of the best batteries per month. any more info or questions feel free to ask :)
Bought brand new smart tv, and my little gremlins decided to throw my new control for it, into the abyss... Downloaded a few of these apps, and this one has the least amount of adds and doesnt demand you pay for it. However, when the adds to pop up, you will accidently click on then add bring you to google play store instantly. which is a bit of a nuscense , but its free so still give it a 7/10. thanks for saving me money a new friggen controller, haha
Ads are stupid.. Here's how it goes.. I want to turn volume up on roku.. I launch app and connect I start clicking on volume up and get an ad after I start turning volume up.. To witch I'm forced to click on the ad because it populates so rapidly.. Wait 45s till ad ends to finish turning volume up.. SHAME ON YOU DEV
I love this app & I use it quite often. My only issue & the reason for not giving 5 stars is, I cannot seem to be able to Go Premium. The page comes up in the Settings page but doesn't lead to anywhere for me to Go Premium. If this can be fixed or you can tell me how to do so, I will come back & give the 5 star rating it deserves. It doesn't even give me the option to go premium when I try to use any of the Premium features. Help?
It's a great app but the I seem to have problems with the volume. I'll turn the volume up on the app and its super loud so I'll turn it down and its super quiet, I can't seem to find that perfect middle
had a similar remote app for roku and did not have to watch an ad every 2-5 clicks on the remote. this is all ads since I installed it. can not get to 5 clicks without an ad. Uninstalling. it does work and great effort but too many ads... overkill.
It has ads after everything, you have to pay to launch apps like netflix and touchpad and many other things. Also, it's not even the real Roku app at least try hard very much didn't like do NOT download this app.
I understand having advertisements but one every time you press a button is a little over the top i remember when you didnt have to pay for premium but now you guys are forcing it by making the app almost useless without premium.
it wouldn't work at all until we found our actual remote and turned the TV on from the real remote. Then the downloaded remote began to work... 🤦♀️ That was actually a headache. but it does work.
Took my money weeks ago. Did not even know it would charge me. It immediately started spinning searching for a device. It never stopped. I click on the app today, and it is still spinning. I've been trying to get my money back. But can't get in the app open at all to contact anyone!
incessant ads pop up all the time in the free version, and you end up selecting them when you're just trying to operate your TV. frustrating!
Having to watch ads in order to use a remote app for a device that was purchased is the worst. Waiting to watch an ad after I open it before I can even do anything is actually kind of insulting. I will never buy anything that is advertised on this app.
Advertisers should realize how many users of this app WILL NEVER BUY OR USE their products out of PURE FRUSTRATION! It feels as if every time I reach a point where I really want to hit PAUSE or OK (ie. on You Tube to "skip ad") - THAT's when an ad pops up. The fastest thing is to hit X closing it down and opening again ultimately causing me to waste more time just trying to use the remote than watching tv. What a pain in the %@#!!! Guess it's time for me to spend some $!
Really Roku?? I bought your TV and then your remote quit working. Download this app and I have to watch bs ads for other bs apps that I don't want either. Smh...do better!! 2 👎
Was great but suddenly stopped connecting. When attempting to use phone to set connection, it hits an AD WALL ... tries to collect $10 per month ! NOT WORTH IT !
Far too many ads! Every 3 clicks an annoying ad again :( the ads install button sits over the 'skip ad' button. So you just sit and wait and wait! So annoyed. The app is good otherwise. SPACE OUT THE ADS
It doesn't connect to the TV very much. If anyone knows how to make it connect more often please let me know. This is one of two of the worst apps that I have ever seen or heard of. I hope everyone on the internet sees this. Roku advertising says that this a free app. When I tried to click on the download it didn't do any thing. I clicked every where. A went over the steps several times and a day or so later it showed up on my phone. I never could get it to work properly and 99 % it didn't. Now
