The constant crashing is crazy. Cheap games made on someone computer in their basement have less problems than this game. What a rip off! I downloaded this because the old one glitched, and I thought the new one wouldn't. @atari the error comes up as "one or more Google play services is not available". Thanks for your reply Atari, but don't blame the device, it's clear your program is missing Google play services required to play it.
4 stars because of how frequently it crashes on tablets. I want to rename a coaster or ride, crashes. It will occasionally behave and let me rename things and I will rush to rename everything in my park that needs a name better than Twist 1. Also, this works on chromebooks and i have 0 clue how to zoom out when its on there. I originally played it on my tablet and thats where it kept crashing. But other than all the crashing, I quite like it. 90% of the controls are easy to figure out.
Avid player of the classic PC game. I love the different rides added and the way it's the same as the original. I do wish that when you deleted a ride, the scenery and such went with it. Also, the banners for "NO ENTRY" do not work at all. Thanks for making this available as an app on my phone though. I do love it but there's room for improvement! :)
Ok, I LOVE this game, but I've run into a big problem. About 25% of the time, when I change something's name, the game kicks me out. This was annoying but not worth reviewing about. Then, something terrible happened. I made a huge expansion to my park, and it was doing great. I was naming my new haunted house, when it kicked me out as usual. But when I came back, my new wing of the park was GONE! I know there is nothing you can do for me, but PLEASE fix this bug for others!
Porting it to mobile must have been super challenging and I think they've done the best anyone could. That said trying to build a complicated rollercoaster with the mobile controls can be just torturous and could be improved with small fixes. E.g. the same swipe you use to control the camera also auto-raises and lowers land; you can easily waste a thousand bucks with one swipe when you were just trying to zoom. Rotating the camera recenters it. View Options keep resetting without prompting, etc.
Love the game but has so many issues like when trying to export park save files to email it keeps saying unable to attach file. I tried it with different emails and email applications and it's the same issue which leads me to think it's something with the game and it's file. And constantly crashes on tablet. You also cannot share progress within platforms regardless If that option is checked. This much crashing leads me to think that its poorly optimized and no longer updating
Very nostalgic, and for the most part it just feels like the original games but now on the phone! However, the limited controls do rear their ugly heads in two notable places. Firstly, making buildings of a decent size is near impossible, since the isometric view makes it hard to tell if a piece is in the correct spot or somewhere completely different. Secondly, terrain is extremely annoying in this game, and terraforming every square to make a mountain is not a fun time. Otherwise a great game!
I really love the original RollerCoaster Tycoon games and this captures rct and rct2 really well. The controls are smooth and intuitive, which surprised me. However, when you zoom out by any amount, the game becomes extra pixelated and very unpleasant to look at. While you're zoomed in, you can't see much of what you're building. In the past this apparently wasn't an issue, but unfortunately the developers do not seem interested in fixing this bug. Quite sad because this app would be incredible.
I loved this game growing up and this just brings back memories. Very nostalgic. The reason for 3 stars is because what they fail to mention to you is that the initial $7.99 is just for the scenarios from the previous games. It's an additional $7.99 for sandbox and to create your own parks/ scenarios. There's also 2 other expansion packs that are $2.99. It's worth the $7.99 for the game but it should have included sandbox at the very least. Kind of a scam in my opinion!
It's the original game immaculate: graphics, sound, gameplay and everything is just like the old days. The game plays flawlessly smooth, and is perfectly adapted to the mobile experience. It's pure nostalgia on the go. A warning though: all the original graphics are scaled down to a mobile phone screen, which means some things (text, buttons and graphics in general) can get real tiny, man, unless you're on a tablet. Don't go squinting to play this one or you'll hurt your vision preddy bad! I had to get prescription glasses for this one. I have very mild astigmatism and this game is the only one to give me headaches.
Does a good job of faithfully reproducing the look and feel of the original game. The controls are a little fussy on a smaller phone, but otherwise it's a good time! There are some changes that require different strategy, such as the removal of adjustable park entrance fees. Making money in some scenarios requires more work and creative accounting.
absolutely love the game brings back so many memories from my childhood. no faults with the game at all its exactly how I remembered it! but was just wondering if anyone knew if the game can work with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse before I purchase one? or how to Contact the company that made the game to ask! it doesn't really matter if you can't use one because the controls are simple enough anyway but was just curious if you could
It's Rollercoaster Tycoon on mobile. The first and the second game. What more could you want. Only thing I don't agree with is the fact that you have to make a second $5.99 purchase to create your own parks, export them, or import other parks. As well as the second game's expansions, Wacky Worlds and Time Twisters, are also $1.99 each. Still worth the money because you get 10+ parks for each expansion and the ability to create your own parks which will give you hours of fun.
I've been a massive RCT fan for a long time, rollercoasters are my thing so it's only natural. This is a pretty nice amalgamation of the original games, and it's cool to have them on the go. My only real issue here is having to pay extra for the coaster creator and custom scenarios. The DLCs are fine to charge extra for, but removing features from the originals and selling them for more? I'm not a fan of that, these were my favourite features of the originals. Otherwise, it's a good experience.
Great translation from PC to mobile. Works great, just like how it was in the old days. And if you get further than the first few levels, you CAN change the entry fee. Just depends on the level and goal. And I love the fast forward <3 Best purchase I've ever made. You get 90ish levels and can buy 2x 15 additional levels for 2.50€ and the creator mode for 6€. Haven't bought those though, so no experience with that.
Exactly like the computer game I played twenty years ago! Graphics and all! I love it! Total nostalgia. No additional in app purchases after purchasing. Just complete the scenarios in each park and move to the next one. On the downside I had completed probably twenty parks, work got crazy so a month went by before I could get back and it now says I have no saved parks. I am not playing anymore because I am irritated all my progress is gone.
Classic. I love this game. It plays great; I have not experienced any issues with running the game, other than an occasional black screen when first starting up. Closing the app completely and reopening it has worked for me each time, though I will say it's quite rare. It is VERY similar to the original RCT and RCT2 games, extremely nostalgic for us old school players. Fast loading times between parks and menus, and it will actually hold your progress and resume if you close the app.
I really loved seeing one of my favorite childhood games on mobile. While the port is pretty faithful, there are a few very slight omissions like path types and no mountain terrain tool. Nonetheless, I love the game, and the controls are pretty dang good for the small screen size. I wish Atari would take some cues from the original 3 RCT games, but when I want a more modern experience, I don't need Atari. I've got parkitect and Planet Coaster.
I am shocked at how perfectly ans smoothly this has transitioned onto a tablet. Game play is just as simple as it was on a desktop 20 years ago (my God, has it really been that long). They have even made some very minor changes to game play/construction that make a nice difference, but really just left the game exactly how it was. All the original park scenarios and expansion packs are included in the download. Definitely worth the money and I am looking forward to wasting a ton of time on this.
Awesome game. Yes, it occasionally crashes. Had an issue where I couldn't even get the game to load; it seemed stuck in some background opperation. Turned off notifications and app permissions. Now it only crashes occasionally and I don't get locked out. Save before and after building rides, changing ride names, and advertising your park. Been having a rather smooth experience since turning off notifications and permissions. One of my favorite apps. I'm on a galaxy s5e.
Great for nostalgia, plays pretty much exactly the same as rollercoaster Tycoon 2 on PC. You can play offline, and there is no pay to play/pay to win rubbish. You buy the game and get the full game. You can also purchase expansion packs. I would like to see an easier way of backing up saved games, the only way is to export them individually.
Love it! With no IAP and no waiting, it is one of the best value phone games you can buy. It is almost as awesome as playing on a PC was back in the day. Some of the levels are super hard (namely anything where you have to finish a DIY rollercoaster), but it's a good challenge. I wish there was a sandbox mode, but it's great regardless.
This is a WONDERFUL port of the original games; it actually has ruined me going back to playing on the PC because a lot of the gameplay aspects are much less clunky in this version, and the combination of elements from both RCT and RCT2 makes the game much more well-rounded. Some of the controls are a bit more tedious to manipulate without a mouse and keyboard, but conversely the ability to use a touchscreen makes other controls more natural. Easily 100+ hours of gameplay. Get this game.
Great classic, has a lot of the look and feel of the first two Roller Coaster Tycoon games. No microtransactions is a great, great plus. Has some micromanagement like the original but it seems like its not at the same depth. controls are a bit weird at first but after a while its fine. Wouldve been nice with some graphical settings as quality is quite low when zoomed all the way in, eg you cannot read signs as it gets pixelated. Scales good on OP6, no crashes yet.
This is very entertaining and provides a new challenging twist. In this version, park entrance prices are not adjustable. Though many on here are complaining about this fact, it actually makes the game more fun. Some were saying that it makes dynamite dunes nearly impossible. I disagree and believe those folks must just be terrible at this game because I finished that campaign with only 2,000 in debt and over 700 guests with an 840 park rating. Play the game again with the new challenge!
I miss rollercoaster tycoon on pc. This is almost the same game. Every time I check box to remove scenery (see through scenery) it only lasts a few seconds. If I check the box I expect it to stay that way until uncheck the box. It's difficult to construct or build paths because u can't see through scenery and u can't make it go away and stay that way. Huge irritating flaw!
